I was happy to be selected for this trial as my skin definitely feels the affects of the harsh winter air and tends to dry out.
The masque has a thick creamy consistency and when applied to the skin it feels more like a heavy moisturiser which absorbs completely. For this reason I decided to leave it on overnight as it has a comfortable feeling.
I definitely felt the affects of circulation quite soon after I applied it as my skin had a warm feeling, but not unpleasant
Once morning arrived I washed my face as usual and my skin was left feeling fairly hydrated but i wouldnt say i was impressed. I tested the product several times with the same result.
Found at my local pharmacy I was on the hunt for a new mask to try out as I am a fan of multi-masking and like to have a few on hand for whatever my combination skin decides to do. Being that the Evolu range was on offer with 30% my eye naturally pulled me over to their display.
With combination skin I have masks for oily areas, acne breakout, purifying and detoxing as it is a balancing act and at the time of purchasing this mask I was noticing that the drier areas of my skin, especially around the lips and chin area, were getting so dry that I would be sore so the rehydrating mask with its claims of delivering deeper, longer lasting moisture was just what I wanted.
The texture was thick but expected for this type of mask, it was creamy enough to spread evenly over the areas that needed to be treated without straying too far into the oily areas, which I am so glad I took my time to do so as even after the first use I noticed that my skin in the dry areas were plumper and smoother.
I initally used it 3 times a week as like I said I was having a rather bad dry moment but found that was far too much for my skin and have since scaled it back to as needed as it very quickly did what it promised by helping the area retain moisture that a few days afterwards I awoke to a rather greasy chin area which is a little out of the normal and I was using my regular night cream for balancing my skin so knew instantly that it was a result of the mask. I can handle oily areas when covering with makeup but dry areas are just a pain as they get all flaky so I have found that once a week is more than enough.
I am thinking that as my skin ages more that I might have to incorporate this in more often as I think it will be fab for that as it really plumps up the skin which in turn makes it firmer and slightly lifted.
