This was a really fun review, though not entirely successful on the part of the product! Never having used a tissue mask, I was curious about this and happy to be chosen. I followed the directions on the packet, opened it up, and placed the mask over my face, and then removed the outer layer.
The mask was sopping wet with the mask goop, which had a sort of fresh smell, but was not heavily fragranced. With being so wet, I expected it to drip, but it didn’t. I was sitting on the couch at the time - should have really been in the bathroom as I needed a few tissues to clean up my hands after placing the mask.
The mask was too big for my face and had to keep it out of my eyes to prevent the product going in them. This mask was supposed to be for Dry or Sensitive skin and promised to leave the face feeling Not tight, and Moisturised. After the mask was removed, some areas of my skin felt softer, but not a great deal more.
As the mask settled on to my face, I felt a few little prickles of irritation, but they didn’t get worse or more frequent. My skin can be sensitive but not too dry, so I thought it might cause a breakout the next day, but it didn’t.
After the 15 mins was up, I removed the mask. The instructions say to massage the remaining goop into your face. This was not feasible as there was HEAPS of goop stuck to me, so I wiped it off, and my face was then damp. A little while later my face like there was still ‘stuff’ on it, so I washed my face with clean water and patted dry. $5 seems reasonable for a large portion of a one-off mask, and is comparable to other sachet face masks.
On evaluation, I find that this seemed like a good idea but with the large fit and luxurious amount of goop, it seems not worth the hassle - I’d rather use a mask I can spread on myself.
I was excited to be chosen for this trial. I'm a big user of face masks and have quite a collection from clay to the Asian sheet masks (I was in Japan recently and did a giant stock up).
I didn't find this had a particularly strong scent but it was very gummy like when I pulled it out of the packet.
The mask itself is huge compared to sheet masks i'm used to except the eye holes were tiny which just didn't make sense to me.
It was also dripping in product which I found ran down my neck a wee bit while I left it on. All in all a nice hydrating mask but not the best i've used and i'm unlikely to purchase it myself as $4 for one mask is a bit steep in my opinion but could be nice for an occasion.
Tips: Use the excess product and rub it into your hands and neck
