I tested this on halloween, no better way than a long night of partying. It had long lasting coverage without the heavy or greasy look. And was easy to use. So compact and the type of product that is good to carry around if you are on the move!

It does what it says, its very comfortable and long wearing however I didn't enjoy the matte texture on my skin. I felt it made me look older and more tired
Tips: None yet but keen to hear others tips!
I was really surprised by the packaging on this product. It comes fully equipped with a mirror and a sponge tucked away in a handy compartment below the pressed disk of powder. Great for throwing in your handbag and touching up on the go. It feels like a classy compact.
The consistency of the product is beautifully smooth and weightless, for a lasting and mattifying powder foundation it doesn't feel heavy or like you are wearing a lot of product. It doesn't crease or move around on your face like other products I have tried so once applied you can be assured that it's not going to look too obvious to others you are wearing makeup.
The price point is great too, different NZ companies show it retailing from $20.39 on special with up to $30 for its normal retail. Good value and even better value on special.
You can build the coverage by applying with the sponge for areas that need more and if you just want to be shine free use your powder brush to dust. Good for combination skins to apply with the sponge on your oily areas or textured pore parts of the face. If your skin is drier definitely dust with a powder brush to apply.
Great range of colours to suit a range of skintones. Lovely lightweight feel and texture when wearing, very smooth powder so it doesn't make the skin texture too obvious to others.
Definitely piqued my interest to try other Maybelline products!
Tips: Can be worn as a Foundation or to set other Foundations in place.
Application method will determine the coverage so if you just want to set your makeup or reduce shine use a large powder brush to apply. If you want full coverage apply with the sponge included.
Use as a blotter- if you have greasy areas on your face just apply where needed. Ie T Zone
Wait for other makeup to dry before going in as a finishing product otherwise you will look patchy. So if you are using a primer or liquid foundation underneath make sure it's touch dry before applying this powder.
For someone who never uses a powder foundation due to dry skin I was interested to try this one. I read a little about it online and how to use it before it arrived. I found that the makeup applicator made it a little to thick for me but with a brush I got a nice thinner layer. It went on smoothly and evenly and the colour match was spot on. The next time I wore it I took the compact to work and used the applicator to apply a touch up during the day, I this situation I found the sponge worked will for doing smaller areas and top ups. It did cling slightly to drier patches so would recommend making sure your surface it smooth and hydrated before using.
Tips: A little goes a long way so use a sparing amount and build up from there
I received the shade 21 to trial. This gave a light soft matte finish and I layered this over my spf day cream and this really helped to mattify the skin. No caking or patchiness and gave a nice soft glow. However I found it hard to use the sponge that came with the product as really difficult to collect more product and layer on. The sponge is more suited to a cream foundation than a powder foundation. There is a limited selection to choose from shade-wise in NZ so this was the closest to my olive skin colour but looked a little pink on me.
I was looking forward to trialling this Maybelline Superstay 24H Hybrid Powder Foundation as I have never tried a foundation in this format before. I really enjoyed using it as it was quicker than blending my liquid foundation. I experimented with using the provided sponge which gave a medium/full coverage, and a makeup brush which provided a light/medium coverage. This is a really nice foundation product which is easy to use and customise your level of coverage. I didn't stay up the 24 hours to test these claims, however, it did last the full day which was great. I did choose a shade that was slightly too light, so I would like to try the next shade. This trialled shade will be better suited to use during winter for me, I added extra blush and bronzer to. warm up my face. The first day I wore this foundation, my skin was slightly dehydrated and the foundation clung to the dry patches. The second day I ensured to use my hydrating products first. I was really happy with this foundation and continue to use!
Tips: Make sure to allow your moisturiser and sunblock to absorb before applying.
A medium to full-coverage powder foundation, yes, please! I was excited to put this foundation to the test as I am always looking for products that work well and are affordable.
My first impression was that it was a fairly basic-looking powder foundation however it is packaged perfectly for make-up on the go. It includes a sponge to apply the foundation as well as a mirror which is super handy to have when travelling. The foundation itself has a pleasant smell and comes in a good range of shades.
I was a little concerned that this foundation would be too heavy and too much of full coverage for my liking however it turned out to work really well for me. The formula itself is lightweight and comfortable on the skin, never feeling heavy or cakey. It's also buildable, so I can achieve the level of coverage I desire without looking overdone. It is so quick and easy to apply that I have my morning makeup done in next to no time.
I have noticed that I get some shine during the day but to be fair I get this with most foundation. It does seem to be fairly transfer proof and I agree with all of the claims about how it feels lightweight and comfortable with no caking or patchiness.
The price point of Maybelline Super Stay Foundation is a real steal for the quality you get. It competes with high-end brands in terms of performance but is much more affordable. I love this foundation for quick morning make-up and as a convenient travel foundation.
Tips: Layer the foundation for full coverage or just use a little for a light and natural look.
This product was a bit of a learning curve for me, so hopefully this review helps somebody skip the beginning frustration.
As a straight powder foundation this is chalky and difficult to apply. The sponge is all but useless and a brush just doesn't pick it up well.
I went on youtube to look at reviews, to see if it was just me, and it was there I learnt this is a bit like the moisture mist foundation of yesteryear - you need to apply with a wet sponge.
Problem solved - it went on evenly, was buildable in coverage and looked amazing. The finish is matte. The coverage goes from medium to heavy.
And yes - it lasts!
I was eager to try this product, especially because it's a powder, which made it seem convenient and fast. Given my dry skin, I was curious about its performance. I wouldn't describe it as providing full coverage, but it is buildable. I have to admit that it does have staying power, but can it truly last for 24 hours? I'm a bit unsure. I applied it in the morning, spent the day chasing after my 2-year-old, took a nap, and it still looked great in the afternoon. While I want to say that I love it, I can't quite commit to that level yet. I found when I put it on with little/light moisturiser, it looked terrible and patchy, so I would recommend a decent moisturiser before applying. Also, the sponge that comes with it, while it's convenient, it is far too thin. I much prefer my brush, and it also gives a better finish.
Tips: The sponge is too thin, use a brush for a better coverage and finish.
Unfortunately the shade I chose was too dark for my winter skin - however as I darken in summer it should suit better. The compact itself is simple, white in colour which makes it easy to locate in my makeup bag. The sponge and mirror is tucked away in a secret compartment under the foundation and stays pretty clean considering the use. The foundation is incredibly fine and almost silky when you run your finger over it - powder transfers readily. First usage: Using the flat thin sponge provided I immediately dislike the sponge - its flimsy and doesnt provide enough coverage with a swipe. However I am impressed by the transfer from sponge to face and the coverage from the foundation is great too. It blended into my skin beautifully even though the colour was too dark it actually looked pretty good! It can look a little powdery but if you work it a little that fades away.
I have used my mineral foundation brush to see what kind of finish it would leave and didnt love it - it looked like it was sitting on top of the skin and again powdery. I also used my makeup sponge and loved the finish that left - it was more silky.
It can be used heavily for a full coverage or lightly for daily use just to blur blemishes and make skin look more even. It also doesn't transfer much at all once applied which is nice!
Overall...I like it. And would probably love it if it were the correct colour. Will probably end up looking for it in the correct colour for work where I usually have a light makeup look.
Tips: Find an applicator that works with this powder for the look that you are after.
