For some reason, this foundation will work for me one day, then look like a cakey mess the next! I moisturise and look after my skin, but I do find that if I have any dry patches, it still clings to these areas. For me, the coverage is medium, and does not cover where I have darker pigmentation from scarring I think the cakiness seems to happen if I try building the coverage, so I find I have to keep coverage light to prevent this. That being said, I continue to use this foundation as it does provide good long-lasting wear and is a perfect shade for my skin. I use either a good quality foundation brush or beauty blender to apply, which stops it from streaking. I make sure to powder afterwards which seems to help with smoothing everything out as well.

This is my absolute favourite drugstore foundation! The coverage is amazing, it hides all my blemishes and discolouration without looking caked on. This foundation has lasted me a good 9 hours with the Revlon powder. I've never had a chance to find out if it would last a full 24 hours but I don't think anyone needs their foundation on for that long. Only downside is all the foundations are slightly pink/cool toned so being someone with olive skin, it was a bit difficult to find my perfect shade.
When I first started wearing this, I was going through a phase of having very dry and patchy skin. I'm not sure what happened, but when I put powder on after applying the foundation, it went VERY cakey, and my pores appeared to be massive. Perhaps I applied the foundation on too thick or it was too wet ?? It does have great coverage and is pretty long-wearing, I wouldn't say it was 'lightweight' though. It actually feels pretty heavy on the skin, and does look rather cakey. Next time I tried using a transparent powder and applied it with a powder brush, and it looked a lot better. My skin has since gone back to being oily and I only use this foundation on occasion, and when I do then yes, I have to reapply powder a few times a day because I get so shiny as it is not made for oily skin! When I had dry skin it didn't dry my skin out anymore, and didn't flake off extra dry patches. If you have normal/dry skin I would say give it a go! I won't bother buying it in the oily skin version because it is pretty pricey for just an okay drug-store foundation. You can get high-end makeup for a similar price ??
I have tried many foundations over the years but Revlon Colorstay is like my holy grail of foundations. The packaging includes a pump so it's not messy to use and you never waste product. It is the PERFECT shade match for my skin, and applies smoothly with a brush or sponge. It provides a great medium to full coverage, depending on how much you apply, and lasts all day on me. It's the only foundation I wear now!
Tips: Use a setting powder to reduce shine and keep your foundation on your face for longer
The shades for these foundations are perfect for me, I'm very pale and cool undertone, this foundation isn't orange or cakey and hides my pink cheeks and any imperfections very well. iits very lightweight and stays put for a long day, reasonably priced and can get it cheaper online.
Tips: Use a setting powder, make sure you get colour matched, exfoliate before application
I have used this foundation for quite a while in 'Buff' for dry/normal skin, which is PERFECT for my natural pale skin.
The packaging is simple and sleek and I am so happy it comes with a pump! The formula its self is great and can be buildable with a great consistency (not too thick but not watery either), I prefer to apply with a damp beauty blender. I find one layer creates a flawless base to any makeup look. It is very long wearing and is perfect for long work shifts.
The only downside for myself is that Revlon is quite pink based with their undertones and whilst buff (neutral base - to slightly more yellow toned) is perfect for my natural skin, I cannot get one to match when I am tanned which put me on an adventure to find another holy grail. Apart from that I still own it and will repurchase it again as its perfect for my non-tan days!
The reason why I love this foundation is because it comes in a great range of shades! it comes in numerous shades that would suit most skin colours. It has really good staying power, and is very hydrating on the skin. it is super buildable coverage too. i would definitely set it with a powder in the summer because it can get quite hot and sweaty. It has a very flawless finish and erases redness and scarring really well. would repurchase, it is worth the $40. it also lasts very well because you don't need to use much product to get a great coverage
Tips: powder it on hot days if using a full coverage.
I have very fair skin and have difficulties finding a perfect match when it comes to foundation. After much money spent and break outs galore, I stumbled across the Revlon Colourstay (Ivory) and have never looked back. The foundation is easy to apply, is medium to full coverage while still remaining light and non-cakey AND it stays on all night. For best results, I prime my skin and once the foundation is applied, I would use a translucent powder to set my face. Overall, the Revlon Colourstay foundation is my go to and can be found online for half the price of it's RRP so I recommend it to everyone!
When i first started wearing makeup, i swore by this! it could be a case of my skin changing, but this product is no longer a go to. For the price range you are better off going for loreal! I do have a couple that i got for really cheap from priceline in australia, so i do wear it occasionally, however i find its my go to when i just want to throw something on if im going to the gym or something (I know im one of those people- my skin doesent see the light of day). Its a product I use when i dont care if its going to be washed off an hour later, essentially getting wasted. It does last reasonably well though, although be careful with application as it can be a bit "liney"
This was my go to foundation it has good coverage, I do find it does wash me out and u look very mono-toned so if you don't contour/blush you may look very washed out.
It is great for its staying power without needing to be set which is a great advantage, I barely need to use concealer either with this product as does have the full coverage effect and hides blemishes well.
Tips: You may need to mix up applications of this sometimes it does tend to sit on parts of my face mostly around my nose so you may need to use beauty blender, buff it in, or even just the Ol finger application just because it does like to play up if it doesn't agree with your skin on that day which is a shame
