What can I say, expect this foundation is fabulous!! I saw this on Shaaanxo's youtube (I hope I spelt it right!) and just knew I had to try it out for myself.
Provides flawless full courage like I've never experienced before in a foundation. And finally a colour that actually exactly matches my skin! It's like a match made in heaven (I'm using the shade porcelain). I have really bad acne on my chin at the moment as well as redness so it's really hard to cover but this makes my skin look great, you wouldn't even know I have problem skin. It's the raised bumps giving it away.
The bottle is way smaller than I expected it to be but you only need a little bit anyway because it's spreads out real easily. The texture is thick and creamy and is completely build-able, I found that if I'm having a bad skin day I'll add a bit more courage but It doesn't make me look cakey or fake.
When I first used It I did feel a slight tingle because of the tree tea I'm guessing but I don't feel that anymore.
It's called acne fighting so I'd expect it to help my acne and it does have some good ingredients but it doesn't help heal my acne whatsoever. But then I don't exactly mind that because it covers so well and just knowing that has those ingredients in there anyway is a big plus so it's not going to make my skin any worse.
It's easy to get the product out too :) Almost forgot, this lasts all day, but if I'm touching my face alot like I have a cold or something it will wear. It always transfers to my clothes a bit if not careful! (that's why I get fully dressed before doing my make-up).
I purchased this online from eyeslipsface.com when they had a recent 50% off sale, so picked this up for the ridiculously low price of $3 in the shade 'Beige'. I had previously seen Shaaanxo use it in a tutorial and it looked amazing, plus I was tempted by the thought of a more affordable alternative to my much loved Clinique Anti-Blemish Solutions foundation for my oily, acne-prone skin.
The packaging for e.l.f.'s Studio Acne Fighting Foundation is actually really similar to that of Clinique - a plastic bottle with large, screw on cap. I really like this style of packaging for liquid foundation for several reasons; it allows you to see how much product you have left, it's a good size and shape for storage and travel, the cap is secure enough that it won't come loose within a bag and the nozzle is perfect for dispensing as much or as little product as you like.
This foundation is specifically formulated to fight acne and because of the ingredients used it does have a slight smell similar to that of the e.l.f. zit zapper, which may be the camphor, but it isn't strong or unpleasant.
The formula itself is amaaazzzing, thick and creamy. I applied it after priming with e.l.f.'s tone-adjusting mineral primer using a flat-topped kabuki brush to buff it into my skin. I found this method gave the most even finish due to the formula being so thick. A small amount of product gave me full coverage which really did disguise redness, blemishes and uneven skintone. The finish itself was natural and after setting it with powder and setting spray it lasted all day.
I can't judge to whether it helped prevent or treat acne as I normally use acne-fighting products as part of my usual skincare routine, but it didn't break my skin out which is a definate bonus!
I am SUPER impressed with this foundation, so much so that it will most likely replace my beloved Clinique as my go-to on days where I want more full coverage foundation. This is such an amazing price, and I highly highly recommend it!
Tips: This sets quit quickly, so use a kabuki brush to really buff it in for the most even finish.
