This fragrance has never appealed to me at all and to be completely honest I don't get what the obsession and hype is with this fragrance. In my opinion I think it is more suited to an older woman rather than younger women, its a very mature scent.. Its very distinctive and doesn't smell like anything else out there but I just think it doesn't deserve all the praise it gets! It is nothing special! Perhaps the bottle is what people like? I just don't get it!

Classique by Jean Paul Gaultier
Classique by JEAN PAUL GAULTIER A contrasting fragrance featuring sensual, ultra-feminine notes.
Top notes offer the tenderness of rose played up with the freshness of star anise. In the middle notes, the spicy sweetness of orange blossom is combined with the aphrodisiac notes of ginger. Base notes feature the caressing sensuality of vanilla and amber wood.

Tips: I think JPG men's fragrances are a lot nicer than the woman's.. So I tend to steer clear of JPG fragrances.
Love, love ,love this. JPG is my all time favourite, and has been for years. The combination of rose, vanilla, and soft amber is feminine, warm and sophisticated. And the great thing is you can get either EDP or EDT. But be aware the notes are slightly different. For me this scent is timeless.
Tips: Use with body lotion - divine
I have been using this for about 10 years since I received a sample from a department store and since then I have been hooked. I have amassed quite a few empty bottle that I can't bare to part with and make sure to restock before I run out. I prefer this for evening or special occasion wear since it's a little more pricey than my other perfumes, and also because it's just too nice for everyday wear. I love that it's not too overpowering, I'm often complemented on it despite not being able to smell it while wearing it. My one splurge item I will never go without.
Tips: The mens version, Le Male is just as amazing!
The most wonderful creamy vanillic slightly oriental number on the right person - but on the wrong chemistry the nailpolish note becomes very apparent and you may get a blast of old fashioned face powder (these two notes are actually a part of the composition which gives it an old world feminine 'film noir' type of quality) like a woman's boudoir with the smell of powder, potions and beauty products - you will pick up the hint of old fashioned lipstick straight away. There is also a creamy almost warm milk note which blends the old makeup into the vanilla and the star anise and ginger give it warmth and comfort without being in your face spicy or overtly oriental. This can be quite shrill and in your face upon purchase of a fresh bottle - I recommend spraying the bottle a couple of times then letting it age for several months in a dark drawer to give it resting time and then it will smell divine. Also when I was younger I loved this on others but hated it on me as I got quite an acetone like note, harsh and chemical but as I have gotten older this now wears a lot better on my chemistry. I must also stress I am reviewing the EDT (frosted bottle) not the one pictured which is actually the EDP - these are like two different scents completely - the EDP is very chemical and lacking in the milky vanilla spice notes on my chemistry but some people like it better so it's all down to chemistry. If this is too much for you but you would love it toned down JPG release a summer edition/alcohol free variants in gorgeous limited edition bottles each summer which are based on the original composition but with fruitier/more modern approaches more aimed at a younger audience.
Tips: If you like this you should try lancome poeme - there is a similar tangy vanilla ylang ylang type of note in this, Elie Saab intense is also in a similar vein.
Great perfume - I am always after something that lingers and lasts the day which this does. Not over powering and seems to get a lot of compliments!! Can be a little pricy though - but a little goes a long way.
Love it! It is my signature perfume, after trying several others. I would recommend it to those who prefer a "lighter" perfume to a "heavier one".
I adore this fragrance and have brought it many times , this is one of my absolute favourites!
I love the sweet, slighty fruity smell that lasts a long time. Always get compliments wearing it, as I like to use this for daily use.
A gorgeous container and packaging too. It just looks so elegant and classy sitting on my dresser.
My partner knows this is one of my all time favourites, so it's a gift I get given for birthdays or anniversaries. An amazing perfume, that I am in love with!
Lasts for ages, and has a stunning fragrance which is appropriate for nearly every occasion I can think of. Not too fruity, not too musky- perfect balance. If you're new to fragrances, this could be perfect for you. I always get complimented when I wear it.
This is the third perfume I have tried by Jean Paul Gaultier and I am yet to find one I don't love with a passion. It smells absolutely amazing and I have to try and stop myself from wearing it everyday so it doesn't run out super fast
Not a huge fan of this as it is a bit too strong for my liking. It had an amazing staying power, but again, because it was too strong I would probably recommend it for evening use. I struggle with fragrance which becomes too musky on my skin and sadly this one does, though I easily can pick up on the vanilla, which I do like.
The bottle is clearly portraying the message of femininity and seduction, which I believes is a perfect match to the scent I smell. Definitely a pricey fragrance to have, so may be better as a special occasion fragrance. The Jean Paul Gaultier fragrances are generally beautiful fragrances but I'm not convinced this one was for me.
