I was looking around farmers at perfumes as I was wanting to upgrade from my high school teenie bopper Britney Spears Fantasy which had now become my trademark smell to all of my friends. I came across Rouge By Dita Von Teese.
Looking at the bottle, it was rather bland. I gave my wrist a quick spray just to see what it smelt like.
Oh my good lord. I absolutely loved it! I convinced my mum to buy it for me right there and then as I didn't have the money in my account to do so myself, but I just had to have it!
I bought the 40ml bottle for $69.00 which I thought was reasonable.
Taking it home, I sprayed it on me properly, the squirt is almost like an aerosol spray- very powerful with a wider area of coverage, unlike all my other perfumes.
The smell is firstly sweet, a bit of orange, but then comes the heavy musk of woody tones.
My flat-mate described it as more of a mature smell.
That was exactly what I was looking for.
So if you've been stuck with the sickly sweet almost candy-like perfumes and are looking for something more mature and sexy, this perfume is exactly that.
Dita Von Teese has forever been my beauty queen. She is always flawless and so feminine and beautiful…. this perfume however, was a HUGE let down. If i wanted to smell like an old lady, i'd borrow my nana's perfume.. but i don't. I get that she is vintage in every way, but she could have made a modern twist on a vintage smelling scent. Such a disappointment!
Tips: I really didn't like it at all. If you are going for the old last scent, crack on.. but if you aren't, look elsewhere!
