The scent of No 19. is what I usually associate with the house of Chanel. I picture the wearer of this scent as a wealthy woman in a Chanel tweed blazer and pearls, wearing this to an opera.
No 19, is a sophisticated scent, which is both earthy and green. It has a very 'old-time' quality to it, much like Chanel No 5.
The oakmoss and the leather notes are strong in this. It is very much a night time scent, ideal for winter and certain occasions (classy, black tie events I imagine)
I started wearing No. 19 about 25 years ago. I loved that it wasn't too sweet, it had a woodsey, freshly floral fragrance. I've flirted with other fragrances over the years but always come back to this. I bought my latest bottle at duty free which is usually the only time I invest in perfume. I bought the EDT and love the non-fussy bottle and the fact there are no lids to remove. Just a quick depress of the top of the bottle and you're good to go. Whenever I wear it I feel fresh and a little bit sophisticated ;)
