This is a wonderfully crafted scent it is feminine, classy and sensual at the same time but unfortunately due to extreme popularity, its lower price point now days(it was originally a more high end fragrance) and the unfortunate many women who over spray this scent it has a bad reputation and is always described as 'an old lady scent' this is not true at all, worn in moderation and for suitable occassions it is gorgeous - its just unfortunate that this scent commonly fills supermarkets, pub toilets and hospital waiting rooms along with the scents like White Diamonds and Giorgio (I love both of these also) spray lightly and wear for the right ocassion and this is a wonderful fragrance. I do find that the newer version smells slightly less powdery/musky than the original perhaps they have tamed it slightly to cater towards the more modern audience.

I love it Elizabeth Arden Red Door <3 I use Red door every day and have used it for the last 4 years , I love the smell and so does my husband :D The colour of the box and the shape of the bottle is so lovely and recognisable, it makes it easier for husband and family to recognise my purfume
Love this perfume! To me, this will always be a classic :) the strong scent guarantees that it will last the majority of the day for me and I always get complimented when wearing this. The design also makes this perfume recognisable and stand out from all the others. If you haven't smelt this perfume as of yet, I highly recommend you try it out!
Strong but not too overpowering flowery smell, its an old favorite, alot of people i know wear this. The packaging is sexy and seductive all summed up in this timeless classic. I used to wear this all the time aroind my early adulthood, you only need a small amount and it will leave you smelling divine for hours, it lingers on your clothing for days. If you havent brought one yet its a must buy perfume.
My Dad got me a Red Door set a few years back for christmas and I did not like it at all. It just smelt way too old for me (I was about 23 at the time) and was too strong. Luckily my Mum was more than happy to take it off my hands as it is a long time favourite of hers.
Tips: Possibly not a good smell for younger women, but that might just be my personal opinion!
I personally do not like this perfume as I am not a fan of the musky/ old smell. I think this is because I am young. it is a strong scent that sticks and very recognizable. I would recomend it to an older friend but It is above my age group.
I was given this EDT as a gift many years ago when it was very popular. I don’t know what the cost was then but the bottle shape has since changed and the scent may have too. Many people just love this scent, but it just does not agree with me so I put it down to my skin reaction, or my sense of smell? I find the top notes to be very overpowering with a very strong floral scent, smells like a flowershop full of lots of aromatic flowers in bloom. It’s a scent that old ladies would wear, and there is also a powdery talc smell mixed in with it. Unfortunately, these tops notes are the only scent I can smell and it dominates the base and middle notes which I cannot clearly identify because of so many floral scents. It lasts for ages and a little goes a long way so if you really love this scent, I think it would be value for money. In fact, its so long lasting that I can still smell a hint of it the next day, even after I have showered. It is only then that a whiff of the sandalwood base notes came through for me, and it was quite pleasant, but by then you could hardly smell it. Alas, this is not for me as I favour a scent that is more sandalwood.
Tips: Don't put too much on, a little goes a long way and lasts for ages.
I LOVE this fragrance. I have been using it for so many years now, I can't really remember, and I always make sure I have a bottle of it to hand. It all my favourite scents in it, so it's almost like it was made for me!
Tips: As with any fragrance, I keep mine in the original box if I can, in a drawer, away from sunlight, to help prolong its life. Some of these fragrances can be very expensive! and you want to protect them, and your investment.
I used to wear this fragrance a long time ago and at first was in love with it. But then it became popular and I got started to feel sick wearing it. It also caused headaches.
Wild Violets/Lily of the Valley/Freesia are the top notes, Moroccan Orange Flower/Ylang/Red Rose/Jasmine are the middle notes and Oakmoss/Sandalwood/Honey are the base notes.
For me, this perfume has just too much going on and is overpowering. If you spray lightly it isn't so bad but if you accidentally spray too much........
Tips: It can become quite sickly, so apply sparingly.
Red Door by Elizabeth Arden is, in my mind at least, one of those classic and timeless scents which transcends any trend. It is classy, sophisticated and beautiful, light enough for daily wear but equally elegant for nights out. Not too overpowering or sweet, and lasts really well throughout the day. Love Red Door!
Tips: One spritz on each wrist and on the neck is more than enough to smell stunning all day.
