I always walk past small candles, votives or tea lights because in the past, the ones I've purchased have been utterly disappointing because they lacked fragrance. I have used two of these candles in the past from Beautiful Christmas New Zealand box and Best Beauty Box Ever box respectively.
I haven't come across many candles in a tin so I think the packaging is pretty cool and creative. It's compact so it's easy to take traveling where you can just close it up (once the wax has solidified) and pop it into your bag ready to light at the next destination.
You don't need to trim the wick on this (thank goodness) so it really is a "purchase-and-light" kind of candle. However once the wax is fully liquid the flame does come up pretty high which can be a bit of a hazard so you'll need to be mindful of where this is placed. Fragrance aside the main thing I was looking for was whether or not this burned evenly. I really HATE having to maintain a candle that needs constant attention.
I'm happy to say this has a good burn to it where the wax pools evenly around the wick. The tin is not hot to touch within the hour, it's just warm but any longer than that I wouldn't recommend touching it or carrying it around to a different location while burning because the wax might spill over and that's just asking for medical attention.
I let it burn for an hour in a small room and found the fragrance travelled well but due to size I don't think it's ideal to light a big room, you'd probably need more than 2 or 3 to create a relaxing and calm ambiance.
I have the fragrance 'Kitchen' which is amazing. I initially thought it was a lime scent coming through but it's actually lemongrass. Don't get it confused with the kind of overpowering lemongrass you detect in some cuisine this is more of a refreshing take on it. I would recommend this candle for traveling but for rooms in the house I still prefer to use larger candles that last longer.
I love scented products and use plug-ins, candles, and incense, all the time. I hadn’t tried a Living Light candle though, so was excited to see this one in the BBBE. It is Revive Come Alive Butterfly.
It comes in an awesome little tin. On opening it, there came a strong citrus smell which scented my bedroom over a few days. I love citrus so that made me happy.
The candle is easy to light and just sit somewhere in its tin. I chose to burn it in my lounge as I’m usually in there. It is a medium sized room.
I sit the tin inside its lid so it doesn’t get too hot on the bottom.
Sadly, the strong citrus scent isn’t so easily detectable once the candle is lit. There is still a scent, but it is quite subtle and smells more like generic-burning-candle than citrus.
I think if I were to repurchase, I would leave the open tin on my duchess where it was, and not light it, as the scent is stronger that way.
Weight for weight, I think I’ll stick with incense and cheaper candles, as they give a stronger smell for a longer period, for much less cost.
