So happy to see this little tin of Living Light candle in the NZ Brand Best Box Beauty Ever box, I have been a fan of Living Light for a while and have a couple of their candles already so knew this was going to be awesome.
Coming the the scent "Relax" this little tin candle, which unfortunately got overused because I loved it so much I kept on lighting it, is a blend of relaxing fragrances like lavender and patchouli, with the lavender being the most noticeable. It truly was a candle to relax by, making my room fill up with wonderful aromas that allowed me to sit back, chill and be totally at one with the universe for that brief moment of the day. If you suffer from stress and the inability of being able to switch off you need this candle, it sort of forces you to.
Designed to be a travel candle, in comes in a resealable screw top little tin that would be very practical to pop into an overnight bag or even if you are really fancy and have a caravan to pop in there. The wax once the wick is snuffed out returns to a solid state pretty quickly, which might be because there isn't much in the tins but it makes it more easy to get and go whilst on holiday.
As I mentioned above I used it up pretty quickly but then I did have it on for probably 4-6 for the first 3 days of owning it, for it to be bone dry of any wax by day 4. I'm a bit impulsive and greedy like that, but the fragrance was that good I wanted to keep it lit all the time.
I picked up one of these wee candles in the BeautifuL Christmas Advent Calendar in a scent wouldn't have chosen myself and didn't 100% love, but I can't fault the candles. The scent I got, Revive, was pleasant, just a really citrussy ' refresher' blend and I prefer to use candles for relaxation after work :)
These candle come in cute wee tins, which mean they can be covered over if need be and offer an alternative to the common thick glass jars. I was a little more concerned (whether or not that was legitimate) about these getting hotter, so set it on top of another candle plate i have to be safe. The candle burned cleanly, and for an acceptable length of time given the size. I didn't time it but I wasn't left wondering where it had gone, either.
Extinguishing didn't cause clouds of dark smoke (my pet hate with candles) and the scent hung around for a long time afterwards, but in a subtle, pleasant non-cloying way.
I believe that there are other scents in the range that would have gotten a 5 from me, but this is the one I had :)
Tips: as always, trim the wick before lighting, to ensure a cleaner, safer, better burn :)
