Tips: Buy this product it is so fab !
I love the smell of this product and it really soothes me. I have this in my bag or by my desk at work. I don't get headaches that often but when I do, I bring this out to help relieve it.
I don't think it gets rid of headaches completely but for me it helps and the peppermint smell distracts me from the pain because it has a calming effect on me. I also used this when I was sick and had a blocked nose and it was good.
I bought this because I wanted to try a natural remedy for headaches.
Although I did enjoy the smell of this product, it didn't actually alleviate my headache at all. I did notice that the fragrance does encourage mental harmony for me and so I use this as a fragrance to encourage calm thoughts.
Tips: Warm the pottle in your hands before opening to experience a harmonious fragrance of calm.
This was in a recent beauty subscription box and I hadn't rushed into trying it as I hardly ever get headaches so it sat on my dresser for a few weeks, I was almost asking for a headache just so I could try it! Well as the say there is a first and a last time for somethings and this is one.
The frosted brown glass jar is nice. Simple but nice. The top of the jar is big enough to get a small scoop out. (For me the end of a teaspoon I hate fingers in pots/jars) it's a very thick cream almost hard.
So I scoop a reasonable amount out I had a bit of a cold so thought I would rub some around my sinus area and on my temples. Wow wow wow that intense peppermint scent followed by that cooling sensation reminds me exactly like that anti inflammatory that comes in the purple tub.
Wowzers it's a bit too much for my face and made my eyes water slightly even though I tried not to get it too close to my eyes. I had to get a face cloth and wipe it away. As for it working nope still had a slight headache and blocked sinus.
I won't be using it on my face again and will use the rest on my partners back and shoulders.
I love this little product so much! I'm one of those types who would rather mope around the house complaining about a headache than taking painkillers (my excuse is pregnancy and breastfeeding gets you out of the habit of being allowed drugs!). Now, whenever I start complaining, hubby asks 'have you put on your herb farm headache cream?' Every time I say 'no!' and run off to apply it. The peppermint gives a lovely tingle and an uplifting smell that never ceases to make me feel much better.
I think this works the way if you bump your leg, pressing the site of the pain helps as your nerves can only process one sensation at once and you over-ride the pain. This feels like the minty tingle is over-riding the pain sensation in my nerve receptors, while the aroma goes to work at relieving the tension. I could be totally wrong, but this is my impression after multiple uses.
As such, it's not going to clear a migraine for you - there are serious painkillers for that - but if you like to relieve your headaches with something natural that you can frequently reapply, this is a winner!
Tips: Bonus, the cute pot is totally handbag-sized!
As someone who gets headaches quite regularly - this product is a dream come true.
I imagine the formular might have changed since the previous reviews in 2016 - the product is thick and creamy like a night cream, and super glossy. It comes in a small pottle so it's easy to take with you in your handbag or toiletries case.
I bought it on a whim at the Herb Farm shop in Ashurst, not really expecting very much but I thought it was worth a shot. And boy does it deliver!
Putting a little of this on my forehead or sinus region instantly lessens any headache. It's smells wonderful and has a kind of warming sensation. You don't need to use very much - maybe similar to the amount of eye cream you might use - a little goes a long way.
So stoked I discovered this product!
I picked this up in my recent Healthpost order. I suffer from migraines and will give anything a try to see if it can help.
It comes in a 20ml glass pot with a screw on lid. It is a thick white cream and smells very strong of peppermint.
It says to rub on your temples, neck etc or anywhere you feel tension. You only need a tiny amount with this. I've been using it on the back of my neck and my temples.
It is so strong it makes my skin tingle and burn. It is far too strong for me and it is definitely uncomfortable instead of soothing like it should be.
It doesn't lessen my migraines or headaches at all and I will not continue using it.
I have been using this for pregnancy headaches and it has been amazing. My family have been using herb farm products for years, so it’s nice to know it’s still a natural formula that has hardly changed. It has been great to use a natural product while pregnant, and it has really helped with my headaches. I apply a little bit to my temples as soon as I feel a bit of tension and it usually goes away in 10-15 minutes. I am usually quite sensitive to essential oils, especially on my face, but have never had any issues with this. Highly recommend!
I recently bought some of this to try as I love the company Oh Natural. I have the Badger Balm Headache Balm and love it, and so thought I would give this ago for comparison.
The pot isn't exactly huge, but a little goes a long way so don't be too freaked out when you see its size.
The smell is seriously amazing, I love anything with peppermint in it and its quite strong but not overpowering. If you're not a peppermint fan than this may not be the product for you.
Does it work? I have mixed feelings on this. I had a really bad headache and massaged this into my temples and although it gave a nice tingly feeling, it didn't do anything for it, which is a shame as I had high hopes for this product. However, on a good note, it works well for aches. My son had a really sore neck and I massaged this into his neck and it seemed to help relieve the pressure.
So to sum it up, if you're looking for a product to relieve headaches, then this may not work, if you're looking for a product that relieves aches, then this may work for you.
