Background: I have darker blonde hair that I bleach once every two months to go platinum. My hair tends to go brassy/yellow and has become quite dry, brittle, and falls out; so I was very excited to trial this product. Other purple products just don’t do it for me.

Packaging: comes in a 100% recyclable bottle (according to their website) Price: at $24 for 250ml from Chemist Warehouse, it’s on the pricier side for sure, but you have to pay for quality, I always say. Consistency: not unlike other shampoos. Fragrance: pleasant! I’ve had other products that smell of clay but this shampoo’s fragrance is lovely. Can’t put a finger on it, but it’s nice. Application and coverage: lathers really well for every coverage. Does stain the hands at first glance but over the course of the shower/bath that fades significantly. Results: this product really does work. From the first wash my hair was SMOOTHER, SOFTER, and has stopped falling out - which is a dream come true for me and the robot vacuum. The yellows/brassy parts of my hair were… no longer yellow. However, this product is STRONG. Due to my hair being platinum, I came out the shower with pastel purple accents. I think if I’d left the product on for less than recommended, I would not have had that result. I personally like the effect, and it does fade out without staining clothes or pillow cases. Just be careful and test the shampoo for shorter than the 5 minute’s recommended. Recommendation? Yeah, basically that. Depending on the lightness of your blonde hair, I would test the shampoo out for less time, and build that up over a course.
The packaging is a 250ml plastic tube that was thankfully taped down by BR for delivery to avoid spillage. The directions were very hard to read on the back of the container as a was very small font size so I went to their website to get the directions.
I use and have used a few different purple shampoos as my hair does tend to "fire up" and go the golden colour so needs cooling down of the colour regularly.
When I first squirted out the purple shampoo I was terrified as it was a very deep purple and my past experience with the Schwarzkopf Good Bye Yellow purple shampoo of the same colour, hair went green (!!!) - don't EVER use that one folks! However I bit the bullet and made my first application. The shampoo had a lovely aroma which I liked. The first application did not froth up much, which it usually does with my current shampoo, so I rinsed and did another application which did froth up. It recommends to leave on unrinsed for up to 5mins. I only did 3mins as was a bit scared it would make my hair go green. I rinsed off and noticed my wet hair was definitely darker and not brassy. I then applied the Fudge Blonde conditioner - my next review - and combed it through my hair. I did have more hair fallout/breakage than I normally get so hopefully that was just a once off. My hair wasn't tangly though so not sure why that happened.
Overall after using the shampoo, conditioner and treatment, I was very happy with the final colour after I dried it and there was not hint of brass and my hair was a cooler beige/blonde which I preferred totally. My hair was very soft and I found that it was very nourished. Usually I get oily hair after a day but it is day 3 and even though I am due to wash it, it looks ok.
Highly recommend.
Tips: Leave the shampoo on for the 5mins as it will be fine but less will still work.
