Tips: I would recommend using gloves as the purple stained my nails.
This shampoo comes in a 250mil standing tube, so its handy for home or holidays... and it's a deep purple, I'm glad I had gloves at the ready. I needed quite a bit of sampoo to get a good lather, and left it for 5 minutes before rinsing. My hair felt refreshed and squeaky clean.
Tips: Follow the instructions, and do a skin patch test first. Also there's a foil seal under the cap that needs to be pierced, or removed. Gloves are necessary to avoid staining.
Thanks for the opportunity to review this range BR! I've been lightening my hair for years and have used a ton of different toning shampoos. There are so many on the market that don't do anything other than have a pretty purple colour.
I used to use Fudge quite a lot but found it became quite drying after a while. I switched to Fanola which was the only one comparable to Fudge in toning ability but while it worked beautifully, it was still quite drying.
So this Damage Rewind formula is such a game changer for me. It tones my hair so beautifully and so far no drying at all - in fact it feels quite nourishing. I love the packaging, the fact that the bottle sits on the lid means I can get every last little drop out. and the scent is gorgeous - I am definitely going to stick with this shampoo!
Tips: The shampoo is really toning - as in you'll have smurf hands if you're not careful. I can't be bothered with gloves, so I put the shampoo directly onto the top of my head, and then grab the lengths of my hair to put on top of the shampoo and then lather up - it helps minimise that direct contact with my skin when it's concentrated like that. Applying it that way and then washing my body straight after seems to get rid of the colour stain.
After using the Fudge Clean Blonde Damage Rewind Shampoo once a week for the last 2 weeks I can say I'm a fan. It is a deep violet colour and super strong, a little Definitely goes a long way. I did find it quite drying, however used with the Fudge Clean Blonde Damage Rewind Conditioner and Treatment my hair has stayed well toned and in great condition. The fragrance is nice not too strong but lasts a good day or two.
Tips: Gloves could be helpful for applying as it does stain any dry patches on your hands. Make sure it's well rinsed out or you will end up with purple patches.
I have used this product for many years without having tried others in the range. It's truly awesome at canceling yellow and brassy tones, although be careful not to leave it too long as it can actually go a little purple. Which is actually cute sometimes. The smell is more on the chemical side, and it can be stained, however, if you're wanting to use it for managing your blonde colour, then it really hits the mark and is at a really affordable price point. The key downside is that I do find it drying, but this is easily remedied by pairing it with a moisturizing treatment.
Tips: Make sure you don't leave it in too long to avoid staining, and pair it with a good moisturizing treatment or conditioner.
Love it! Lathers up nicely, a little goes a long way. I find the consistency to be quite runny though, so you definitely have to be ready to use it as soon as you open it.
It smells nice, unlike some other purple shampoos I've found that can smell quite chemically
I was excited to try this fudge range as I have used purple shampoo on my lightened hair before but found it left something to be desired - what would this range bring?
For starters I really like the packaging - bold colour choices of purple and silver with bits of orange and white stand out. You will never get this product confused with something else. I love the bottle stands on it's cap, meaning that the product always comes out easily.
The product itself is super purple and super runny - easy to spill all over the place if you aren't careful leaving your shower looking like you murdered the flying purple people eater. It has a pleasant scent, lathers well, and while the packaging warns that the product may stain I never found it stains my skin or shower walls if rinsed well.
The results were pretty awesome overall. I was a bit skeptical about the 90% stronger claims as I have long thin hair prone to breakage and split ends, but even from the first wash I saw a difference. I had less hair fall in the shower or brushing, my split ends seemed to mostly disappear and my lightened hair colour looked more natural and blended with my natural hair that I'm growing out. My hair also feels smoother and softer, compared to the drying out I have experienced with other purple shampoos.
While the price point is definitely more than I would normally spend, having used it I would definitely say it's worth it and will be buying again when I run out. Highly recommend!
Tips: Tip completely upside down before opening the cap and to control the pouring out of product well.
Have found my new go to purple shampoo! This shampoo removes all yellow tones and gives a nice ashy tone to the blonde. It doesn't dry out my hair like alot of other purple shampoos can do, and even better than it contains ingredients to help with breakage! I can use this solely without needing another shampoo to combine it with, it's fine on it's own
Tips: Use with the conditioner, and hair treatment for best results. Shampoo twice
A must have if you’re struggling to kick those brassy yellow tones out of your hair! It’s not overly drying like other brands and it helps to prevent breakage! Lathers really well and they last you ages
Tips: Make sure to put lids on afterwards as it can stain your shower, and try not to leave it in your hair for too long and it cant tint your hair purple
I've been an avid user of the original Fudge Clean Blonde shampoo for years, I've tried many other purple shampoos and nothing beats Fudge. However, I tend to only use ot once a week as it is a bit harsh. So to see my fave shampoo combining toning and nourishing at the same time was very exciting! I'm happy to report that this shampoo does just as good a job at canceling out pesky yellow tones as its original counterpart whilst also leaving hair feeling strong and soft and looking smooth and shiny. It has it all! I'll definitely be repurchasing this rather than the original version in the future. The packaging is pretty standard in a practical tube. It does leak a bit so care needs to be taken if traveling with it as it'll definitely stain. I'm not a fan of the design, which fits with Fudge's grungy branding but it's not really my thing.
