Firstly wow what a massive tub!! Upon opening the massive lid it gives off a refreshing fragrance. Super easy to swipe some out and it spreads really well. Not too greasy and doesn't take long to absorb either. My only questions is how much magnesium? I was unable to find how much magnesium was actually in the product.

Tips: it's a pretty big tub so I suggest you leave it on a level surface. Don't try to hold in one hand while moisturising your skin
As soon as I opened the tub of Garnier Body Superfood Aloe Vera & Magnesium both my 9 year old son and my bf commented on how nice it smells & I agree. The fragrance is quite strong initially but softens once applied to the skin. Perfect for applying after a pre-bed (or anytime) shower or those times when you don’t want to wear perfume but still want to smell good. My skin felt lovely after using this fast absorbing lotion, no itching or reactions, just soft smooth skin & did I mention the fresh, clean fragrance? Body lotion in a tub has it’s pros & cons. Pros; no wastage, easy to get product out and you always know when you need to restock. Cons; the tub is a bit bulky & while there’s little risk of leaking it’s not an ideal travel companion as it takes up quite a bit of space both in a bag & in the bathroom. But since I love this body lotion it’s otherwise attractive packaging isn’t a deal breaker. I can’t say whether my skin was hydrated down to 10 layers but I did test the 48 hrs of moisturising & wasn’t disappointed. I even used it on my feet which are rough from going barefoot & was happy with the results. I love that Garnier’s Body Superfood Aloe & Magnesium is cruelty free, vegan & 96% natural origin. The fully recyclable packaging also states the origin of most ingredients which I liked. Would I buy this again? Absolutely. Though do shop around as prices range from $8 at Countdown supermarkets through to $25 from other suppliers. A body lotion has to be spectacular for me to pay $25 but $8 makes this body lotion great value for money. I will definitely purchase Garnier’s Body Superfood again & I will try other products in this range to suit seasonal skin changes-the Cocoa & Ceramide is next on my list.
Tips: Apply a small amount first as a little goes a long way.
I’ve been using Garnier products for quite a few years and was excited to try this Magnesium & Aloe Vera superfood moisturiser. Very generous sized tub, which is great for me as my skins really needs the moisture boost all over!
I liked the colouring of the outside of the tub, makes me think nature. Easy to use screw tub. The smell is lovely, not too overpowering but still subtle and feminine (not too feminine) but I really like the smell. I’ve been using it every day and mostly after my shower at night and I actually think it’s helped my sleeping due to the magnesium, so that’s gotta be good!
It’s helped with my patches of extra dry skin and I’ve even talked my partner into using it. The consistency is nice, it’s not thick like a body butter but not runny either a good in between.
I really like this and will continue to use and most likely will purchase more in the future.
Tips: Slather on at night after a shower!
It was a great moisturizer! Left skin feeling very hydrated. I don't think it lasted for 48 hours thought, probably just 24 hours or until i had another shower. loved smell. liked packaging.
Tips: Found it stayed a bit sticky on my hands after so worth washing hands using so would only use at home.
I can't tell if I love this item or not. The consistency and smell remind me of something - perhaps a face mask?? Its not necessarily a bad thing, but it throws me off a bit every time I use it lol. Its almost sticky, or 'goopy' in consistency but its not unpleasant at all, quite smooth and very easy to apply, soaks in easily to the skin. In terms of whether the moisturising effect lasts for 48 hours, I've not been able to tell entirely yet - though my skin certainly hasn't felt particularly dry. I'll continue to test it out and will update if anything else strikes me! I really like that it is in a pot rather than a pump, as I feel there will be less waste at the end - and the pot could be reused for storage which is a bonus!
Tips: Make sure you put the lid on properly - I had a bit of a near miss popping it back on the shelf after trying to replace the lid with moisturised hands!
i got picked to try this, where to begin, i personally wouldn't use this again. it does work... but i couldn't get past the smell, and i was not a fan of the "wetness" of it. i personally like a more creamy/thicker cream, this just felt very wet putting it on. now if you can get past that, it really does work. i did the one arm test for a few days, where one arm has it and the other doesn't, and i can tell you the one i did it on is so damn soft, the other one feels like sandpaper in comparison. i mean its not that bad, but the soft one is sooooooo soft, it just feels really nice. i also used it on my husbands sunburn, worked a treat!
Ok so first off the packaging comes in a large tub like body butter 390 ml volume the price point is around 8 to 14 dollars which is average for a body cream. The packaging is clear as to what it is advertising with bright colours which is apart of the garnier branding. The consistency is thick like a cream but light to apply and spreads well the smell is so strong I wasn’t into. It says it provides 48 hours of moisture however I have found other products that have given me better results it did help clear up a couple of dry patches I had on my legs. Would I recommend this product? There’s so many moisturisers out there to choose from so I wouldn’t buy it myself.
This product smells wonderful . But unfortunately for me it just sat on top of my skin for ages and left if feeling oily and a weirdly unclean feeling like my skin had been sweating. (This was a weird experience from me)
Tips: Do not out this stuff on and then put your legs on rhino leatherly furniture it leaves smugging and oily marks
The Garnier body super food comes in a fairly large tub 380mls like the hair products it’s easily to recognise but not so convenient for travelling with.
It has quite a distinctive smell which does smells lovely in the tub but I did find it a little overpowering on my skin and I could still smell it on my hands after washing them several times which I’m not a fan of.
I always find that the packaging is jam packed with information but the key messages are: 48hrs hydration, 10 skin layers, for normal to dry skin, and fast absorption. It did absorb quickly, prehaps because I do have dry skin but I was fairly generous with my application.
It is hard to judge the 10 layers deep claim but from my experience of using this for a week it was not as nourishing as I would have liked in comparison to other moisturisers I have used. I still have dry patches on my legs and I needed to reapply regularly throughout the day for extra hydration so I would say it doesn’t last 48hours either.
If you want a basic, cheap summer moisturiser and have normal skin then this might tick all your boxes but this isn’t something I would recommend for dry skin lady.
No this would not be something I would repurchase.
True to Garnier fashion this moisturising cream smells good enough to drink. It’s brilliantly thick and somehow still sinks into the skin quickly. I have very dry skin and have found this lasts all day without the need to re apply. I think 48hours is a stretch though, by bed time I noticed the dry patches on my legs are visible. I’ve found it to leave my skin feeling very smooth and hydrated, I even started using on my face on no makeup days because of the hydration it gives! Definitely would recommend.
