Garnier Fructis Hair Food Banana Review

I have so many mixed feelings about this product

The tub is quite large (which should be a good thing!) but it is a little awkward to fit in the shower and tricky to put the lid back on when your hand is full of product. Plus I am not a fan of putting my fingers in a tub of product - just a personal quirk. I would definitely prefer if it came in a bottle. The banana smell is a little more like a sickly sweet banana lolly and is very strong but the scent does calm down and I can always purchase a different flavour so no biggie. The product is thick and creamy and easy to apply.

I tried using the product in all three ways suggested on the back of the tub - a conditioner, mask and as a leave-in.

It worked ok as a conditioner and there was definitely no weigh down, I had volume like you wouldn't believe! I looked like I had sooooo much hair! The next day I had to straighten it to calm it down but then I found it got greasier so much quicker than my hair normally would. I usually only need to wash my hair twice a week but with this product I had to wash it every couple of days. I thought using it as a mask after using shampoo and conditioner would be excellent but sadly it definitely made my hair greasy quickly. For me I don't think using this product all over my hair is the way to go. I tried it as a leave-in on the ends of my hair when my hair was dry and I was nervous as it it looked like it was going to make my hair look very greasy but after a few minutes the ends of my hair soaked up the product and apart from the smell you wouldn't know I had applied any product. But using it as a leave-in on my mid length/ends on wet hair was the best outcome for me. I always air dry my hair and instead of my hair getting all frizzy through the day as it dried it just looked soft, moisturised and healthy.

This hair mask smells divine - makes me almost want to eat it!

The pot is massive and will no doubt last a long time. I've used the mask every wash and love the thick creamy consistency which I can work through my hair without issue.

I never use hair products sparingly as my hair tends to be on the dry side. This hair mask works wonders and leaves my hair smelling gorgeous, manageable and soft to the touch. I will continue to use the hair mask several times a week as my hair needs it.

I've already tried a couple of others they have, and I absolutely love these Garnier hair masks, they make my hair so soft and smell amazing. Highly recommend their entire range!

I am Garnier fan so was looking forward to trying this product. It comes in a very large bright yellow pot containing a thick white creamy formula. The scent is an overpowering mix of fruity banana. I slathered it onto my hair after using the Garnier Shampoo Bar and massaged in well. The pot is a bit more fiddly to use than a normal flip top bottle, because of the size and screw top. After rinsing and drying, my hair felt soft, healthy and moisturized, also smooth. I would not purchase be because of the intense scent which I don't like, and the large pot which is awkward in the shower.

Smells like banana - delicious! Although if you don't like fragrance this isn't for you because it's quite a strong smell.

You can use this as a regular conditioner, hair mask or a leave in. I think it's so great that this can be used for more than one thing. I used it mostly as a hair mask a few times a week.

It's very moisturizing without weighing down your hair, which is something I loved. I found it really helped moisturize my dry ends but wasn't too heavy.

Loved how much you get in the container, how easy it is to find in the shops, and that it's cruelty free with mostly natural ingredients. This paired really well with the banana shampoo bar and helped keep dry frizziness at bay for me.

Love my hair smelling like banana.

No silicones, no parabens or artificial colour and the most amazing banana scent. This product can be used 3 ways, as a conditioner, a mask and a leave in conditioner. I have used it all 3 ways and absolutely love this product. It doesn't weigh my hair down and has left my hair feeling soft and so much healthier. I have mainly used it as a conditioner and use a wide toothed comb to spread the product through my hair. The container is slightly too large for my smaller hands which can make getting the lid back on while in the shower tricky, but that is the only negative I have with this product. Love it, and will be purchasing.

This product smells AMAZING! The consistency is as you would expect, and the jar is a large twist top. It gets a bit tricky to close when you have product in your hands and shower water making things slippery and i almost dropped the entire jar a few times!

I used it as a mask so put on a good sized blob to work its manic whilst showering.

The end result, smooth and shiny hair that smells great! I even had people compliment me on my hair asking if I had had it straightened. So that’s always going to make something a winner in my books!

I truly loved this product! As a conditioner my hair was left hydrated, soft, tangle free and manageable. It smelt devine and rinsed out easily. As a hair mask it gave my hair an extra boost of hydration and left my hair shiny, my curls more defined. I found using it as a leave in conditioner was amazing for my very curly, normally frizzy hair. I didn't need to use any additional styling products, my curls were defined and frizz free without any greasy residue. I highly recommend this product, I'll definitely be buying it again!
