I read the reviews on here and chose this particular one which was most suited to my hair. It made my hair soft but no different to say a Treseme conditioner so bit disappointed. Cant say i noticed any smell once i had rinsed it out but smelling the product in the pot its not something I would rave about. Use it periodically but not sure i would buy again. It certainly didnt exceed my expectations,.

I bought this a while ago, used it for a few months, and this did nothing, all it did was smell good, my hair didn't change. And that's because your hair is a) genetic and b) related to your diet, so you can't change it from the outside. Using this after showering in damp hair didn't do anything but weigh my hair down and make it look limp and look like it had less volume. Would not recommend or purchase again.
I figured the Garnier Hair Food products were all mostly the same, so I unashamedly chose the one which I liked the smell of the most. Unfortunately this proved to be a poor decision, because I ended up finding it smelt kind of like sick… maybe that’s just me though.
As a hair mask it felt like a standard conditioner. It didn’t give any added benefits. So I used up the tub and elected to not repurchase.
The one good thing is that it is a generous size tub for a low price point.
Got really good deal two for one. Smells nice but not sure there is any noticeable difference - I’ve got very thick hair and apart from making it slightly greasy didn’t seem to be any significant benefit? I also found the very large container quite unwieldy and hard to handle with slippery hands
I started using this everytime I washed my hair for 2 months, but didn't really find a difference in my hair, there was really no improvement at all. Although it did smell great.
I said from the beginning that I was worried about the smell of this making me hungry. And seriously I opened the packaging and it smell like tropical yumyum!
This tub of goo was bigger than what I expected too, so that was awesome!
I love how natural this product is. The amount of damage we do to our hair to feel glam is crazy, so this was a nice pamper!
It definitely made my hair feel super soft. I don't brush my hair enough because it's too long and too thick, but I found that when I did pick up the brush it was less tangled than usual. It keeps the fresh papaya smell too!
It's not all great though. I can't put my finger on it yet, but there is something about it I don't love. My roots seem to have a greasy shine like ive been working out and sweating. And if there is one thing I don't do, it's work out! Maybe I need to rinse for longer - time will tell when I use it more!
Tips: Have a smoothie ready after you get out the shower and wash your hair, coz you'll be hungry hahaha
I trialled the Papaya Damage Repair treatment, first impressions were good: a decent sized tub that held a good amount of product and it smelled divine.
You can use this product three ways: as a mask with your conditioner as well, as a conditioner by itself or as a leave in conditioner. I tried all 3 ways and found the one that worked best was as a mask with your existing conditioner.
Firstly the tub: great size but when you have wet slippery hands in the shower it's hard to open and keep hold of due to its size. I have a lovely bruise across the top of my foot as testament to this. I realise the product is probably too thick to be able to be dispensed via a squirter bottle so the tub design could do with some tweaking.
The application: light weight product that distributes well through your hair, but it was as it was being applied to my hair that I started to notice the odd smell.
Washing it out: washes out easily but this stage is where that strong chemical smell kicks in, and I found it very unpleasant. As I had used it as a stand alone treatment the first time I tried it, I could smell the strong odour all day in my long hair - not pleasant even though my hair seemed softer from the treatment.
2nd time applying was with using my conditioner as well, using my conditioner after the product did dampen down the smell and my hair was definitely softer afterwards
3rd time applying was as a leave in conditioner. That's a no from me. Hair was limp and almost oily even though I applied it away from my roots.
On the whole I did notice a softness to my hair after using this product but they could work on the tub design and on the smell/odour that lingers afterwards as it's not pleasant. It's the after-smell that is going to deter me from continuing to use this product.
Tips: If you don't like the strong chemical smell left after washing this product out of your hair, use it before you use your normal conditioner.
I have long hair so naturally the ends are damaged and since I loved the banana hair food mask in the same range I decided to try repairing Papaya.
The jar is a very descent size of 390mls. It's easy to use by twisting of the lid and scoping the desired amount out. The formula is the same as the banana, thick & creamy. The Papaya smell amazing very tropical and fruity without being too over powering or artificial. It's seriously delicious and the smell lasts for days on my hair. The hair food can also be used as either a hair mask, conditioner or leave in treatment. I tend to use the Papaya more as a mask then a conditioner and I haven't tried using it as a leave in treatment yet.
While it smells nice it didn't repair my damaged ends or make it feel stronger but it did leave my hair soft and manageable without making it greasy so it is nice to use. I will continue to use the tub up but will stick with the banana in the future.
I got this about 4 months ago and used it once a week for a few months and noticed no changes other than a lovely smell. I found this to make my hair feel a little flat and greasy but maybe thats just me? It is very cheap which is great and I am sure for some people work. I think this was a flop as my hair is very thick maybe?
I was so dissapointed with this flavour, I didn't even use it til the end. It had no slip whatsoever so was literally useless at getting any knots out of my hair. I have thick, curly hair.
Tips: Don't buy it if you have thick and curly hair
