Beautiful packaging - looks modern and fresh. Recyclable and natural product. The conditioner smells lovely and fresh. I love the fact that the lightweight conditioner nourishes my hair without weighing it down. It does what it says - detangles and smooths hair without being heavy, so great in that department. I don't need to use a lot of product to get results. Well priced and good value. I would definitely recommend to friends and would consider using it again. Although mostly natural, the packaging doesn't state that the product is sulfate free, so I am not sure about that. The ingredients are stated clearly though and I couldn't see anything that looked like sulfates among the list of ingredients. I usually try to avoid sulfates because my hair is colour treated.

Tips: Use a little bit as a leave-in conditioner on dry ends
Like the shampoo I really like the bottle design. It's easy to open cap but also feels secure and solid. This had a nice fragrance to it but not too over powering. I don't always use conditioner but I found this was light and didn't leave my hair feeling heavy or flat (unless you put too much in like I did the first time) . I only needed a small amount for my shoulder length hair but did find it needed a thorough rinse to ensure it was all out otherwise it leaves hair flat. Nice fragrance afterwards was nice. Once hair was dry it was soft to touch and easy to manage.
I received this as part of a trial team along with other products from the watermelon range. I have fine, low density hair.
The packaging is a nice slim bottle with a secure lid. The lid can be difficult to pop open but may loosen up over time.
The product is a light cream formula and is lightly fragranced. It does not contain sulfates or silicons so it conditions without drying or coating the hair.
I tried this in a few different ways, initially I paired it with the matching shampoo and intense conditioning treatment. This was a nice experience but a little too much moisture when used with the treatment. On its own with the shampoo was better, but I found it was better for my hair to condition before shampooing, then condition the ends of my hair again after shampooing. This provided protection in addition to conditioning. I also tried this with a different brand of shampoo and it paired fine with this so is definitely interchangable with other shampoos.
I liked this conditioner for detangling in particular. I would apply the product from roots to ends then carefully go through with a wide-tooth comb to remove any tangles. The conditioner provided enough slip for this to be effective while also not weighing down my hair.
I will continue using this, but may also explore the other conditioners in the same range.
Tips: Great for using as an in-shower hair detangler - apply from root to ends then go through gently with a wide-tooth comb!
I really loved the matte packaging for this! It feels really lovely in the hand and doesn't slip out with wet hands in the shower! I found the formula of this really lovely, it comes out so thick and creamy that it almost looked like icing! Not to mention it smells good enough to eat too! I did quite like this product but felt like it was only made really great by following up with the hair mask as the conditioner alone didn't feel quite as smooth on the hair when used alone.
Cute packaging, almost looks like a wee bottle of milk. Conditioner is a good consistency and smells nice but not overpowering. I felt I needed to use a generous amount to get it all over my medium length hair. I wasn’t used to the fact that when you wash it out your hair doesn’t feel smooth and silky like other conditioners but I guess that is a good thing because when I dried my hair it was fantastic! There was volume because it wasn’t weighted down by chemicals and greasy hair. I am super pleased by this product!
Good to see that this is another cruelty free, natural and environmentally friendly product.. For me it has just a very faint and pleasant but unidentifiable scent - appealing to use. Like the shampoo it is very economical to use - great coverage with just a small amount - about enough to cover a $2 coin. Lovely white creamy product not too wet and not too dry so it comes out of the bottle easily - covers the hair beautifully and then rinses out quite easily. The result, whether I blow dry or leave it to dry naturally, my very fine old hair has lift , body and shine that lasts Sadly the white bottle is not translucent so it is impossible to see how much product remains (peering down the top at white product in a white bottle is not the answer)
My big tick for this product - along with the shampoo - applies! The delightful watermelon fragrance is a gorgeous surprise. It’s a great conditioner that doesn’t leave my fine hair limp and flat. Instead it is non-frizz and soft, and stays feeling wavy and full of volume al day. I like the compact recyclable bottles (good for travelling too) and the sturdy flip tops. These are good value and I will buy again.
Tips: Use in combo with the shampoo for very good results indeed.
I like the packaging as non slip, nice fit in the hand and easy to use flip cap. I liked that the conditioner bottle is white whereas the shampoo is pink because I can tell the difference in the shower without my glasses. The product is thick and creamy which makes it easy to control dispensing a small amount as I have short hair. I found a dollar coins dab was enough. It has a nice soft fragrance, not sweet and sickly and it lingers after the hair drys which I didn’t mind as the smell is pleasant. The product spread through my hair well and washed out easily and quickly. My wet hair combed easily and once dry my hair felt silky smooth. I haven’t used conditioner in a while as I find it flattens my hair out and feels heavy. Using this conditioner my hair gained bounce, felt light and clean and looked healthy and shiny. I agree the product meets the claims on the packaging. I like that the bottle is made with 50% recycled plastic and is recyclable. This product ticks all the boxes for me and I will continue to use this in conjunction with the shampoo and conditioning hair mask.
Tips: Keep away from small children as the bottle looks like fruit drink. I traveled away with the shampoo and conditioner and the lids held closed well in my toiletries bag so no leaks.
Just like the shampoo, this stuff smells freaking good. Anyone who loves watermelon will appreciate that Garnier have hit the nail on the head with the scent. However, my personal opinion is that the scent is the best thing about this product. The conditioner didn't leave my hair feeling overly silky/smooth, neither before or after rinsing. Also, it didn't 'boost' my fine hair. Perhaps this will work better for others, but I can't see myself using it again. Cool packaging though!
Disclaimer: I'm not a fan of watermelon, the fruit. It's too sweet, too watery. Luckily, the Garnier Fructis Hair Food Watermelon Conditioner is not like the fruit. The packaging is reminiscent of a cafe juice bottle, invoking healthy freshness. An opaque, white stubby, 350ml recyclable plastic bottle (50% recycled) with a green flip lid (not recyclable), and pink watermelon image. There is a lot going on on the label. Garnier statement of commitments, Vegan formula, no silicones, ingredients listing 97% natural origin formula, dermalogically tested. Stating a 'melting' texture that instantly penetrates for volume, detangling and fast rinsing, for healthy looking hair with volume. There are also warnings in regards to do not eat and to keep out of reach of young children. The Conditioner is a thick and white cream, but with a texture that feels water-rich. The watermelon scent is noticable without being overpowering, and cream absorbs easily into the hair. Side note: Since shaving my hair off in 2020 lockdown for fundraising, I took up a No-shampoo then a C0-wash regime for over 12 months to avoid silicone-laden hair products, which led to my once-volumous, curly hair being lank and oily-scalped, prone to humid fluff. This being the first conditioner I have used with a shampoo in over a year, I really noticed the difference in absorption of the conditioner on the hair shaft. As claimed, the conditioner easily rinsed having done it's job, leaving no residue. Post conditioner, hair feels healthy, not weighed down at all. Hair feels lighter and looks reminiscent of my childhood hair, my curls reignited without any tangling, and while I don't have the massive volume of pre-shave days, there is a lightness and bounce to my hair that I haven't seen in the post-shave year. I love there is no silicone, and despite the watermelon scent lingering post wash, I'm a convert.
Tips: Apply the warning to keep out of reach of children - keep this high, as it does look like a juice bottle and could be tempting to a child.
