Both products have a lovely light scent that doesn't linger too long. I also love that both products are cruelty free and the packaging is taking steps in the right direction to be environmentally friendly. These products do compliment each other very well and are a wonderful refreshing way to begin the day. Both products individually left my skin refreshed however when used together my skin was so soft and smooth, I was constantly touching my own face. I only noticed the brightening effect as I have a dark eczema patch above my eyebrow which became less noticeable when using the cleanser and moisturiser together. As I much as I loved this routine though, I was disappointed to notice large blackheads in areas that I've never had blackheads before. While the cleanser and moisturiser did make my skin brighter as described, it seems it came at the sacrifice of clear skin. I would recommend this as a routine to anyone who needs a refreshing boost in the morning that doesn't need to worry about blackheads or clearing their skin.

Reviews
I really enjoyed the Garnier Green Labs Pinea-C Brightening Gel Cleanser. It was light on the skin, removed make up and didn't leave my skin dry and tight. It is also a very reasonable price. I did also enjoy the Garnier Green Labs Pinea-C Brightening Serum Cream, but not as much as the cleanser. I think I will need to use the cream a little longer to see if the serum aspect of the product makes a difference. At the moment this product acts just like any other SPF moisturiser on my skin. Would recommend the cleanser to anyone with uneven skin. If you currently dont have an SPF moisturiser, this cream does the job.
The packaging for both products is simple, functional and cohesive with the products sharing a similar scent that is fruity and a bit overpowering. I used the serum cream daily after rinsing my face with warm water every morning followed by a slathering of SPF. The cream felt light, sunk into the skin beautifully but I can’t say I really noticed a difference to the brightness or texture of my skin, maybe the additional SPF I used may have hindered my results but I wasn’t willing to risk sun damage to find out. The cleanser I used every second night (rotated with my usual Sukin cleansing cream) due to finding every night a bit drying on my skin. I absolutely loved the texture, it felt very lubricating almost like silk on the skin and definitely left me with a lovely glow. I’d probably skip the serum cream, it would be good for someone else who likes things a bit more simple and maybe aren’t as fussed about brightening and texture. The cleanser I think I will repurchase, it’s a supermarket hidden gem that definitely delivers!
These two Garnier products claim to brighten your skin, effectively cleanse your skin, and be soft a gentle. I found these two products do work well together and it’s great for a basic skincare routine. The pineapple scent in these products is subtle and it is something a little different to what other products are offering. The serum is more beneficial for me as it contains sunblock so it’s likely I will be repurchasing this. I found these products are great for my sensitive skin but overall they aren’t more effective compared to other products similar on the market for sale.
Tips: Good for basic skincare or teenagers starting a basic skincare routine
Two fresh scented products that promise a lot, and deliver on most of it. The cleanser and the moisturising serum share the same pineapple - lemongrass like scent. Both leave a light lingering scent on the skin which I like.
Both products are a good size, and strike me as being good value for money.
The cleanser is a lot more 'watery' than other cleansers I have used, and you can easily use too much in one go because of the lack of dispenser pump. It promises that it removes makeup and brightens skin. I would still use an oil cleanser first to remove eye makeup and heavier foundation, but this does an adequate job in removing the rest.
The moisturising serum, combined with SPF 15 broad spectrum protection, is a thicker consistency that settles into my skin relatively quickly. This does have a dispenser pump and I find that two pumps effectively covers my entire face and neck. I have seen that it does effectively provide some SPF protection, and has kept my face hydrated each day. If you are looking for a multi-purpose product that saves time and hassle, then this is definitely one to try.
I did notice my skin looked clearer at the end of the trial period and the pineapple scent was more interesting than I am used to using in the shower!
However I found the cleanser to be too drying and the serum left a greazy feel and a chemical scent that lingered for far too long.
I think it's best suited towards people with less sensitive skin and potentially oilier.
Tips: I found applying two thin layers of the serum gave better coverage and kept my skin burn free while out
What I love about this skin care routine is that it is so simple! Cleanse and moisturise, thats it! These two products go really well together. I like how they both have the same fresh smell, so there are no competing fragrances. Used together, they do as they claim and brightened my skin and left it feeling smooth. I haven't used it long enough to see if it helps with evening up my skin tone, but the package sizing is generous, so it will last a while. I love that it includes SPF15 as this is an important part of my daily routine. The only downside was that I did feel my face looked a bit shiny after applying the serum/ moisturiser. Overall, these two products work well and make my morning routine so so easy.
This duo would make a good basic routine for people who are getting into skincare or don’t have much time in the mornings.
The gel cleanser does its job well and leaves my skin feeling clean and refreshed but not stripped. It is easy and pleasant to use.
The serum cream combines nourishment, moisture and protection into one product. It’s probably not as powerful as a standalone vitamin C serum but it’s better than nothing. It does offer light SPF to prevent dark spots from forming or getting darker. Leaves my skin feeling soft and looking radiant but not greasy.
These two products both have the same pineapple fragrance that I enjoy but some may find strong.
Tips: The serum cream can be used every morning but another moisturiser that doesn’t contain SPF should be used at night.
Together these products are a powerhouse of freshly scented goodness, making you feel energised and your skin does appear brighter! I took some before and after photos and the reduction in redness after just the cleanser let alone the serum as well were definitely noticeable enough to not attribute it to anything else. Separately they work well, together they're a powerhouse.
The serum is spf15, so there is a slight sunscreen scent to it though this is not overpowering in anyway as the pineapple helps cut through that.
Product design is minimal but effective, and both bottles suggest there will be minimal wastage of product which is always a good thing!
I have noticed an increase in pimples that were unexpected but cannot definitively say that is intrinsically linked to the use of these products as there are other factors at play as well.
Overall, a good combo that did what it said it would. Will leave you feeling fresh and ready for the day ahead and does allow for smooth make up application.
Tips: Both products only require minimal amounts otherwise you'll have product for days haha!
First impression: Great packaging as the cream serum has a lock pump and the cleanser has a stand up squeeze tube which is easy to use. The scent is the same, fresh, clean with a hint of pineapple. The cleanser smells more on the soapy side. Both textures are great, easy to apply, not too thick or too runny. I also love that these products are more environmentally with their packaging and especially the cleanser with its vegan formula.
Application: I’ve used these products separately, but mainly together in this trial to see how they both work together. Applying the gel cleanser is very refreshing, easy to apply / rinse off and a little goes a long way. I would use a pea size amount and that would do my face and neck easily. The formula is good for sensitive skin as my face never stung in my dry/cracked patches. When applying the cream serum, I would apply soon after cleansing and patting dry to ensure efficient absorption I would use 2-2.5 pumps in order to fully moisturise my face and neck. As it is an SPF product I was unsure as sometimes those products can leave a white cast, but this product did not. I enjoyed using the cream serum as it is a 3-in-1 so it took up less steps in my morning skincare routine which I like. But I feel that I would use the 72ml up quickly.
Result: Using both together in my routine, I did notice my skin look brighter and feeling refreshed. Using separately I found the cream serum made my skin look and feel hydrated with a healthy glow. I have combination skin and the cream serum lasted me the whole day with or without makeup. Whether I used the gel cleanser with or without the serum, I found that after using it my skin felt dry like I needed to apply moisture quickly. It also accentuated my dry spots with flaking around the edges. So for this reason I would purchase the cream serum but I would not use this cleanser again as I don’t like that. Overall I feel if you had normal to oily skin this duo would be great for your routine as it did brighten my skin. Using them together I would opt for a smaller cleanser or larger cream serum as the serum would run out a lot quicker than the cleanser.
Tips: Wash hands after using serum as it’s an spf product and wouldn’t want to accidentally rub your eyes.
