The packaging is simple, a basic pump that dispenses the perfect application amount. It’s small nice size bottle that doesn’t take up much space or shout “look at me!” on my vanity; perfect. The product itself is a lovely lightweight cream, it absorbs beautifully into my skin without feeling greasy or leaving a cast of any sort. I’m not huge on the scent, it’s kind of artificial and chemical smelling, thankfully it dissipates fairly quickly once applied. Does it brighten? Honestly I haven’t noticed a difference though that could be because I haven’t used the product long enough to really see the brightening results. The SPF is a nice touch, I aim for somewhere between SPF30-50 so 15 is a little on the low side. I have continued to use a separate sunscreen so I can’t really speak to the effectiveness of the SPF aspect. I think this would be a pretty good product for someone who doesn’t have super sensitive skin or issues with scented products and is after a simple all in one morning product.

Tips: Even if you think you do a good job of avoiding getting product on your lips WIPE THEM. This stuff tastes bitter and the taste sticks for a while.
When I first got this product I was under the impression it was a vit C serum, so when it arrived and I saw it was a moisturiser with vitamin C and SPF, I was excited! I very much like the ‘lazy girl’ morning routine style and so any product that ticks more than one box is already a win in my books. I have a normal skin type and don’t wear makeup, and this product did a really nice job of giving my skin a bit of a glow boost along with being hydrating. The scent is minimal which is nice, and it isn’t thick or tacky on the skin at all. There is no white cast from the SPF. I found one pump of the product was more than enough to cover my face and neck generously. Before I started using this alongside the Pinea-C cleanser, I did notice my skin was getting slightly congested. Nothing major, it just caused a little bit of texture across my forehead that I don’t normally have. However, this seemed to reduce when I paired it with the gel cleanser, so it didn’t worry me. Overall I really enjoy this product and am really impressed with the fact it hits the mark on all 3 of its claims (brightening, hydrating and SPF). A great product to add into your routine!
Tips: Less is more - I found applying a bit too much of this product caused some pilling.
When a product is promising that it has combined multiple products and benefits into one product - then I am intrigued! I love efficient and effective beauty products.
First off, the packaging - nice sage green is combined with white in a compact 72ml bottle. There is a pump lid which is super handy with managing how much product you are using. This can be twisted slightly to the side to 'lock' the pump, which makes it safer for transporting as there is no actual lid for the pump dispenser.
The consistency of the serum cream is relatively thick, and very white with a lovely fresh scent. I am a big fan of the scent of this product, it smells like pineapple and lemongrass, and leaves me feeling energised. The product tends to soak into my skin pretty quickly, so I feel as though I need to use 2 pumps to cover my face and neck effectively. It does feel like it has a thicker consistency, which I think may be influenced by the SPF factor (as it feels like its on the verge of being a lightweight sunscreen).
This product states that it offers broad range SPF 15 protection. I have relied on this solely a couple of times and have found it to be effective in keeping my face protected from the midday sun. Overall it is quite moisturising, leaving my face plump and hydrated for the day, but I am not sure how much 'brighter' it has made my skin.
I would definitely recommend the Garnier Brightening Serum Cream if you are short on time and want to combine a few beauty steps into one.
I was pleasantly surprised by this serum. I love the simplicity of the packaging but I love that the serum is so full of goodness and is multi purpose. This is a brightening serum that also provides 24 hour moisture as well as containing SPF15. This serum is also vegan which is a big must for me, and the packaging gives great insight into the steps the company is making to be eco friendly. The product itself smells lovely, it has a nice fruity/citrus smell that's not over powering and does fade after about half an hour. It's a lovely light creamy texture that is easy to apply, I would recommend using a very small amount to begin with as it is so easy to apply I was continually putting too much product on my face, that's not exactly a bad thing as my skin is as dry as the Sahara, but it is definitely wasteful. After applying this the first time, my skin was immediately softer to the touch and felt energized and refreshed. It definitely helped me wake up for the day as well. My skin was still refreshed and soft after 24 hours as well so those claims are certainly correct. I have to say I didn't notice any brightening to my skin but I have only been using it for not quite a week so I'm hopeful I will notice a change shortly, the packaging does say that skin tone appears brighter within a week. I will say that even though this product does contain SPF, I still applied extra SPF over top as unfortunately SPF 15 just isn't enough to protect against New Zealands rays but I think it's a great idea that they have incorporated it so if you're in a hurry you can have a little bit of protection against the UV.
Tips: Apply a small amount to begin with as it does spread and absorb very easily. Always wear sunscreen even if you aren't going anywhere so add an extra layer of sunscreen on top.
Thanks for letting me trial this product! I am quite surprised by how much I actually like this serum. It is a wonderful all in one serum to use in the morning when I usually do not have much time.
I have been using it daily in the last 2 weeks or so after washing my face. What makes this product special is the SPF15 content. It’s autumn now and going into winter we still need a bit of that protection.
The serum is white, but it blends and absorbs into my skin quickly without leaving residue on the skin. It has a hint of fresh pineapple smell which is quite lovely as I love pineapple. The serum does not make my skin look greasy and it does not feel greasy at all despite the SPF content. The texture is just right. One good pump is enough to cover my entire face. I am currently pregnant, and I believe this serum just makes my skin glow. My skin looks more energised and fresher. I haven’t experienced any breakout during the time I have been using this product.
This product is part of my skin care routine and I absolutely love it. It’s so handy as it has SPF15 sunscreen in it. Overall, great product, innovative initiative!
Multitasking products kind of set themselves up to fail I think - running the risk of being a Jack of All Trades, Master of None.
The Garnier 3-in-1 serum-cream was actually a pleasant surprise, especially as a serum/cream. It definitely does the job of both products really well. This is a brightening formula and skin definitely has a dewy radiance after use.
It's really light and easily absorbed - it does leave skin instantly smooth and hydrated. It's hard to stop touching it, it be soooo soft!
As an SPF I question it a little - SPF 15 is ok for an NZ winter, maybe, but I think it's a stretch to imply it's a 3-in-1 product, ie this will meet all of your sunscreen needs. It won't.
This is a great product for those who can't be bothered with a lengthy skincare routine and especially those just starting out in the skincare world.
Would I use it again? Yeap as a hydrator - not as a sunscreen.
First up - what gives with the name Garnier? At first I thought 'ooo Pinea-C' it must be a new type of vitamin c, like when all of those Lypo-C supplements came on the market a few years ago. So I was pronouncing it 'pin-ya-c'. Then I realised the Pinea was the first part of 'pineapple' and now I don't know what the intention with the name is. Pine-a-c? Pin-ee-aa-c? Is there an intentional pun I'm missing?! And so I repeat...what gives Garnier?!
I love the packaging - Garnier have nailed it with the Green Labs range, it's cute, it's neutral, it screams mature-young-adult. I really appreciate it.
The pump bottle is sturdy and secure and dispenses a good amount of product.
I love the texture of this cream, I thought it might be a bit oily, but it's more like a lotion, its very easy to rub in and non-greasy to the touch.
It does what you'd want a daily lotion to do, it moisturises, gets rid of dry patches and leaves skin looking fresh. I was worried the SPF would leave my skin a bit shiny, but it doesnt
I ended up loving this a lot more than I thought I would.
I am such a fan of this garnier green labs pinea-C serum cream. It is SPF15 so i put it on in the morning before i go out for the day, so i know i'm protected from the sun. My face always feels smooth after. It has a pleasant smell. i have sensitive skin and it works well! Would highly recommend to anyone.
Tips: only need one small pump! watch out it comes out fast
I have been using this products for Just under a week now, in conjunction with the cleanser in this range. overall it has been really nice to use, but more as a general moisturiser. after only a week I have not noticed any change to my skin. My skin does appear to be brighter or less dull. So I will need to continue to this product to see if I can see long term results.
My skin: I have combination oily skin, with redness and acne scars that I would like to brighten and reduce the appearance of. I was excited to try this product as is contains vitamin c which is good for brightening pigmentation.
Serum: the texture of the serum was light and absorbed quickly into your skin. I usually use a separate serum (or oil) followed by a moistures and SPF, and I found this serum gave my skin enough hydration. Ir felt more like a moisturiser though than a serum. It absorbed quickly and I had no issues with applying makeup on top of it. The packaging is nice and the pump is easy to use. I like how you can can lock the pump too. However, I have not seen any difference to the appearance of my skin as it’s too early to get results. But as a general face product and moisturiser I think it’s really good, so I hope to see some results soon.
I really like that this product is affordable and it’s also vegan!
I will continue to use this product to see if my skin brightens over time
I used this the way they suggest (in place of my regular serum, moisturizer, and sunscreen) AND applied two pumps and this blended in with no white cast visible. It was also super moisturizing but made my skin look and feel greasy. It initially had a nice finish. I also like how the pump locks. As for the fragrance. It’s vaguely pineapple but it smells like cheap sunscreen and is really strong, to the point where it lingers and I can taste it. It smells like really powdery perfume; not like pineapple at all, in my opinion. The other thing worth noting is that it takes a lot of rubbing in to get it to blend into the skin. Overall, this is something Ill continue to use on days where I need to rush out the door and dont have time for a separate serum, moisturizer, and sunscreen, but I wont be repurchasing because of the strength of the smell
Tips: Use a small amount then apply a second layer after a few minutes to get full protection.
