Having used higher end Retinol products in the past, I was super keen to see how the Garnier Green Labs more affordable option would stack up. Claims are visibly reduced fine ines starting in just 1 week, nourishes & comforts skin overnight, and visibly reduce dark circles in 1 week, for all skin types.
The packaging is light green and white in colour with Garnier's typical informational style, with a green colour, decent sized 50ml glass pump bottle, with no lid, making it easy to deal with at the end of the day. This Fragrance-Free Cream's key ingredients are Retinol, and Superberry Acai and Schisandra extracts It claims to reduce fine lines and dark circles, make skin appear smooth and radiant.
After cleaning with the matching cleanser, I found a small amount was all that was needed. It's a very silky texture, and absorbs well. I never experienced any tingling or redness as some retinol products can do. After 2 weeks, the texture of my skin, which was a bit flakey-dry, feels more even, and the test was when I wore foundation for the first time in over a year, there was no dragging appearance of pores. I haven't noticed any reduction in fine lines in the short time I've used it, however under-eye area appears more radiant, less dull. Skin is nicely hydrated, and it felt richer than a normal night cream. My dark circles are still visible, but that's more a reflection of insomnia than the cream. I will happy continue using this.
I was excited to try out this 3 in 1 serum, cream & eye cream. The consistency is more of a thin lotion and I found it very easy to apply and spread over my skin. Product is very lightweight and absorbs quickly and fully into the skin. I feel this is a good product for someone to introduce retinol in their skin care. Personally I’ll stick to my usual eye cream as I found this to irritate my eyes but ever so slightly and I so have extremely sensitive skin around my eyes so that could be a good reason for that. There was very mild tingling which is what you would expect from products that has retinol. In terms of reducing fine lines, I don’t think I can really say much about this as 2 weeks of usage is not enough time to make a fair judgment on that. A couple of more weeks of usage wil be needs to say anything about reducing fine lines. Overall an alright product and good way to start using retinol if just staring out.
Tips: Ease your way with the product and use every second day to begin with to let your skin adjust to incorporating retinol in your skin care.
