Found this washed well but for my hair it really dried it out and felt dry to keep washing. Seemed to be better on my daughters hair. Did foam ok.

I have curly, thick and dry hair so I was skeptical in the beginning of using a Shampoo bar on my already so knotted hair.
My previous experiences with shampoo bars weren't so great, which why i haven't transitioned into plastic free shampoos/conditioners. But I think this product will be the reason I move onto soap bars for my hair.
Having thick hair I find it difficult to get actual soap on my scalp with the bars but this product was excellent in foaming up like bottle hair products and I could easily get a lot of soap on my hair to scrub it in, and I also use a lot of hair creams and products on my hair so I felt this shampoo bar actually cleansed my hair nicely, my hair would feel so nice and clean after the shower, ready for applying hair cream and oils.
Most importantly my hair smelt lovely after the shower, it has a beautiful fragrance which I really enjoyed. I also love the fact it’s so good on the environment and it barely took space in my bathroom shelf.
It can make my hair really dry sometimes, but I just make sure to use a good conditioner after.
Tips: Use a good hydrating conditioner after, if you have dry hair.
I've never used a shampoo bar before so I didn't really have any expectations going into using this product. I was lucky enough to be selected to try this shampoo bar in the Trial Teams. I love this shampoo bar so much! I've been using it over the past week or so and have seen great results! I have normal to oily hair and this shampoo bar cleansed thoroughly but did not strip my hair or make it too dry at all. My hair felt clean and balanced. I would 100% recommend this to anyone with similar hair to mine. It was really easy to use as well, following the instructions on the box and first wetting the bar, and then I rubbed it between my hands which created an awesome lather that was more than enough for my whole head. I will definitely repurchase this once I finish it as I love how small and compact it is, as well as how eco-friendly it is. There is no plastic at all! It will be ideal to travel with as it doesn't take up much space at all. I store my shampoo bar in a soap dish outside my shower so it doesn't get any water on it which would waste the product. Such as awesome shampoo bar!!! Also the smell is so nice and fresh! I use it with the Garnier Fructis Hair Food treatment as my conditioner and it was a perfect pairing! I'd also like to try the Watermelon version as well.
Tips: Follow the instructions and you'll get more than enough lather for your whole head. To keep the shampoo bar lasting for a long time, store it away from water, ideally outside the shower as it is activated by water which could waste product.
Prior to trialling this product I had never used a solid shampoo bar so I was unsure how effective it would be or what to expect. I have quite fine, straight and generally shiny hair. I wash my hair daily and so notice small differences quickly between brands and experiences. This product was a bit hard to initially lather - I tried both lathering it directly on my hair as well as rubbing it with my hands. But once lathered, it was easy enough to get it into the roots and wash. Perhaps I lathered too hard because I felt the shampoo bar left my hair looking quite dull. The result was similar to that of dry shampoo - quite stiff and actually somewhat hard to brush out. I liked that the shampoo bar was vegan and was a biodegradable alternative but unfortunately I won't be reaching for this product in a hurry.
Tips: Quite a strong shampoo bar formula - use sparingly. Not for everyday use.
I've never used a shampoo bar before, so wasn't sure what to expect. It did everything it said it would. Left my hair feeling clean and soft, and with a lovely scent. Would definitely use again.
Thank you BR for the opportunity to review Garnier Hair Food Shampoo Bar - Aloe Vera.
This little gem comes in a small green box and you can definitely smell the shampoo bar before opening. Easy instructions for use are on the packaging. No nasties/no plastic waste.
Upon opening the boxed packaging I found a tear drop shaped shampoo bar which fits easily in my hand. You simply wet your hair and the shampoo bar and rub the bar starting at the roots of your hair to the tips. I have long, thick coloured hair.
I am definitely not accustomed to using a shampoo bar other than bottled shampoo and I was skeptical. The shampoo bar lathers easily and smells amazing. After rinsing I follow up with Garnier Fructis Aloe Vera Hair Food Mask.
The first time I used I was overly thorough when rubbing the shampoo bar over the roots of my hair. Then upon massaging the shampoo into my hair/to the tips I swear I ended up with a Marge Simpson hair do. There was shampoo foam everywhere and it just kept giving! Definitely took a few rinses and lesson learnt.
After using the Garnier products together my hair looks shiny, healthy and smells amazing.
Tips: You do not have to cover every single root on your head :-)
I was lucky enough to be chosen to review the Aloe Garnier Food Shampoo Bar and the Aloe Hair Food. It was the first time I had tried a shampoo bar, nice size and fits in your hand perfectly, I found that it lathers up thick and quite creamy so you don't need to use a lot. It's quite soft so finding a place to put it could be a problem as my shower is above my soap dish and it would literally just melt away quite quickly. I ended up taking it out of shower and leaving it to dry and then put it in small container. After shampooing I used the Aloe hair food to condition my hair. Great smell and I like the tub packaging, it can just be left on shower floor. I also like that you can just scoop the amount out you need and apply as needed. Blow dried my hair as normal and it looked great, hair was clean and soft but seemed to lack lustre. That evening my hair was quite lank looking and by the morning looked a little greasy and that it needed another wash, I only ever wash my hair twice maybe three times a week so was a little disappointed that it looked the way it did.
I would definitely recomend this shampoo bar, It feels really nice and soft in my hair and It smells amazing. First time I tried It was after colored my hair with henna and the bar rinsed perfectly all my henna mess. It is actually works better that any other shampoo bar that I have usted because does not make my scalp itchy or my wavy hair frizzy. Great product too if you are going on holidays as you do not have to take any bottle of líquid with you.
Tips: If you use in combination with aloe vera hair food multiuse treatment is a ten.
I love a shampoo bar. I have gone through countless Lush bars, love them enough that I have a dedicated bar holder in my shower.
My hair: brown, very long, fine, frizzy, 2A crankshaft curl pattern. Not coloured. No scalp concerns.
PROS: Nice hard bar, didn't get mushy in the shampoo bar holder in my shower. I used it with my shampoo massage brush to work up a nice big lather. It has a very fresh scent that stays in my hair for ages. It made my hair very voluminous, but not floofy looking.
CONS: I think I have a sensitivity to Aloe, I tried the Hebal Essences Potent Aloe shampoo once and got lots of painful blind pimple type bumps on my scalp, which I put down to a change in medication at the time. Unfortunately I had the same reaction over the couple of weeks I've used this product. I've used the matching conditioner with no trouble for three months, but I keep conditioner off my roots usually. I also felt like the bar was leaving a coating on my hair, like I have styling wax in my hair after I rinse the shampoo out of my hair. I have used solid conditioners before too and they didn't have that odd feeling. I didn't feel it once my hair was dry. On days I didn't follow with conditioner my hair was tangly and hard to get a comb through.
I think it's decent, easy to buy at the supermarket, I might try again to see if it was just the aloe one.
I have to say, I have been pleasantly surprised by the Garnier Hair Food Shampoo Bar - Aloe. My expectations were not high. Other shampoo bars I haved used in the past (very past) have left my hair dry & brittle feeling, like using a normal bar of soap on your hair. I could not have been more wrong! I'm pleased to say this bar goes on super smooth and feels silky. I lathered up bubbles and I could really get in and give it a good scrub, It rinsed out super easy, no feeling of residue and it felt good. Would I use this again? Yes! I'd love to try the other types. The price point does put me off a bit but I would pay more than that for my normal salon shampoo. I also suffer from itchy scalp with alot of shampoos but this one is totally fine, no irritation at all, yay! I only wash my hair every other day, longer if I can get away with it so it should last a while. Glad I was chosen for this trial as its completely changed my mind about solid shampoo, I love it!
Tips: Keep it well away from your regular body soaps so family doesnt think its a normal bar of soap and uses the whole thing up in just a few showers!
