I am an absolute convert to shampoo bars. I just love them! The less waste we can produce is great for our planet and I applaud companies that are doing their bit to contribute to less waste. This shampoo bar comes in a small cardboard box that can be recycled. The actual bar comes in a cute pinky colour, like watermelon but I'm not too sure that the scent is the same, but I don't find it offensive. The bar is super easy to use and bubbles up nicely. It is easy ti rinse out and I find that my hair feels soft and looks great I'm not sure on how volumising it really is, my hair is fine and I havent really noticed much more fullness to it. That being said, I am still happy with the results.

Tips: You can purchase a tin that you can put your bar in and it will keep it dry in the shower when you are not using it.
Well I didn’t have high expectations for this shampoo bar, but it proved itself well and truly! First wash I used too much as you only need a deceptively small amount to get really good lather going. My hair felt and looked great. I have a high shelf so no problem storing it somewhere dry between uses. The fragrance was very understated and probably my least favourite aspect. All in all a great find! Will continue trying shampoo bars. #plasticfree #goodforyou
Tips: Less is heaps.
The Garnier Hair Food Shampoo Bar is the first shampoo bar I have tried and it is so effortless to use. I love that it's tear-shaped so that it doesn't slip out of your hand. It made my hair very clean (including my roots) and smelled like watermelon.
Tips: Alternate with a more moisturising shampoo (depending on your hair type) as it is more of a drying/volumising shampoo
I absolutely love this Shampoo bar. Wasn't sure how effective it would be at first would it be but it's super easy to use lathers up really well. The shape of the bar makes it easy to hold. My hair felt clean and super soft afterwards the watermelon smell is nice too. My leave my hair to dry naturally and still feels nice and light no heavy feeling or greasy.
Tips: I lather the soap on my hands then l put on my hair.
I really like the idea of a solid bar shampoo, the sustainability, cruelty free, and no nasty chemicals aspects, I was hyped to try this. Packaged simply in a cardboard carton with a hole punched out in the corner so you can smell the product, I was really disappointed with the smell, I thought it might improve once it was wet but it actually got worse. But that is where the buck stopped for me. The bar is a creamy pink colour shaped in a teardrop style, it lathered up and rinsed off really well, but ugh that smell! When I have a shower and wash my hair after a long arduous day at work I want to feel clean, fresh, and invigorated, this is an experience that did not deliver that at all. I can only say this bar shampoo reminded me of spoilt milk and cucumber, not watermelon-y at all, it is really off putting, and didn't leave my hair feeling fresh and invigorated, quite the let down. I simply cannot see myself using this again, and I would not purchase this.
I've never used a bar shampoo so was very interested to see how this would work. The scent is strong and I could smell the product before I even took it out of the box. But it's a refreshing watermelon scent which I didn't mind. The bar is smaller then a thought it would be but it was easy to hold in my hand. In total I used it on three seperate occasions. The instructions stated that I needed to rub the bar from roots to tips of hair until it lathered. This didn't take long and the lather felt rich. But once I rinsed it off my hair felt dry. I'm a 'double shampoo' gal so washed my hair one more time and still it felt dry. I noticed the scent doesn't last in your hair which was a plus but I didn't like the strawy type feel it had left behind. It was like it had stripped my hair completely clean. I do colour my hair but it's in very good condition. I wouldn't use it again. Also, it said to store it in a dry area but I didn't have anywhere that would be totally dry in the shower so between washes I kept it outside the shower on a little plate.
I am a long time user of bar shampoos. I find them to be environmentally and pocket friendly so was super keen to try Garnier’s offering. This watermelon bar smelled fantastic and lathered up well. My hair was clean after using it and didn’t weigh it down. It’s slightly cheaper than other shampoo bars available and it’s handy for travel…highly recommend it!
Tips: Keep it on a soap dish with drainage holes to extend its longevity
To be very honest in my review, I did not rate this shampoo bar. I am unsure why, maybe my hair just doesn’t like it. I really liked the shape of the bar, it made applying it to my hair easy. I love the smell of watermelon but found the smell of this shampoo bar to be overpowering. I found the day after using it, my scalp was very itchy and my roots became oily and rest of hair looked dull and flat. My usually shampoo bar is ethique and I wash my hair every 5-6 days and my hair still looks good during this period of time, I found with this shampoo bar it was only 2 days until I feel like I really needed to wash my hair because it felt and looked horrible.
Tips: Keep your shampoo bar in a container so it can dry out before it is needed the next time.
I love shampoo in a bar they last well... this one was no exception first off it smells divine easy to use lathers very well way more than expected its hard to tell if a shampoo is helping in such a short time especially when you have perimenopause hair so much going on to fix, hair felt clean after use and quite soft for just the shampoo part would use again.
Tips: make sure to have a good soap dish to keep shampoo bar dry between uses.
This was my first time using a Shampoo Bar so I was very excited to see how Garnier Fructis Volumising Shampoo Bar – Watermelon Hair Food would work on my hair. I have long fine hair that grows really fast but is very thin and as a result can get dull and oily within a day or so. The obvious difference with the product is that it’s a bar, not a liquid shampoo, so there is no plastic waste! Its also vegan, with no preservatives or silicone and is dermatologically tested. Using this bar is super simple, you just need to wet your hair and the shampoo bar. Then rub the bar from roots to ends on your hair, letting it foam as you do, then massage your hair and rinse – fast! It has a 2in1 cleanse + care, which is an added advantage. It has a really yummy, fresh fragrance. From the minute you pick up the bar the watermelon scent is noticeable and smells fantastic in the shower. The scent faintly lingered on my hair following my shower. Delicious! A single bar can last the equivalent of up to two 250ml shampoo bottles – so not only will this bar reduce waste, but also reduce your spending on bottles of shampoo! It comes attractively packaged in a wee pink and green box, 60g total when packed, and I should mention is approved by Cruelty Free International. Using two to three times a week, this bar left my hair feeling cleansed and nourished, as well as soft and easy to brush. If you are looking for a green way to achieve cleansed and volumised hair without weighing it down, I would highly recommend you give this a go!
Tips: Keep the bar dry! I used mine with a block dock – it conveniently kept mine high and dry in the shower for ease of use.
