I tried this product after my favorite one changed and the colors didn't come out as I liked. Had high hopes for it as it was not only more expensive but also had friends who said they liked it. First respond would have been great color came out nicely and left my hair feeling nice and soft and full of body but then within two weeks the color faded so much so I had to redo it which isn't something I appreciated. Money is tight and I expect products to last longer than that.

I really didn't like this - i used it once and the colour was not what the box intended it would be (i was dying to medium brown from natural coloured light brown) and i was very dissapointed. It went on easy, and smelt nice. But after my hair had dried, my hair looked unhealthy and dry. I honestly will not trust this product again. However, for first time users it is a good, cheap buy.
I found this very easy to apply and best of all it did not drip so there was no mess to clean up - I had to use 2 packets due to extremely long and thick hair. It left my hair feeling nice and smooth.
Overall It covered my hair well and initially the grey hairs were covered although I found that in less than a week the colour was fading from my grey hairs very fast (I do wash my hair daily) - Such a pity because the colour was awesome - probably best for people with no greys.
Tips: Longer hair use 2 boxes
it was ok az i have long haire it say use 2 box of this stuf so i did didint really wrork out the coler didint show very good
Tips: dnt use it yr hair very long
I have used this product several times and was not pleased with the results at all. The end result was very poor coloring. It also came out very quickly. I used 2 treatments but still did not produce good results for my hair ended up being very dry and matted
I have used this brand for years, specifically 'Blue Black'.
I was reasonably happy, until recently when I started cheating on Garnier with other brands.
In comparison to other supermarket colours, Garnier washes out quickly, even visibly washes out, down the drain each time I washed my hair.
It didn't stay black for long, fading to a warm brown within weeks. Perhaps a ploy to get you to dye it more often?
Again, compared to other brands, the product did not spread as far, did not leave my hair feeling as lush, & did not last the distance.
To be fair, it does do the job & for the price, I shouldn't complain.
Tips: Shop around before being loyal
I find that if you are looking for a cheap, at home hair colour then this is an okay option. For me, the colour faded so quickly that I had to redo it again not long after, and if you're like me and try to spread the time between dying as long as you can, this isn't the product for you.
Even on the cost front, having to redye it so often would end up costing you more than using a more expensive brand in the first place, so there're really no advantage of using this over another brand.
Was really excited to dye my hair brown. I used the shade 5 chocolate brown. I didnt expect it to fade so fast. i wash my hair every second day and even use the garnier colour last shampoo and conditioner but my hair is almost completely back to its natural colour after only 3 washes ): (i have naturally dark ginger hair) on a positiive note though my hair still felt really soft and shiny after and there was no damage. Im going to try the loreal hair dye soon because ive heard that one lasts well.
Tips: use two boxes for longer or thicker hair.
I used this for ages (about 3 years?) because it was cheap, and I've never had my hair professionally dyed, so I guess I didn't really know much about it. I always founds my scalp would itch while it was on, and sometimes i would have sore, weeping patches for a couple of days after use (i know, that's terrible, and I should have just stopped using it, but i was scared to use anything different because i thought my hair might fall out!). I told the lady at my local Hardy's store and she put me onto organic hair dye, which i didn't react to, but it was REALLY expensive, and made my hair feel so weird and squeaky clean that it was near on impossible to brush after. After a while I switched to Live Oleo which is amazing. I would never go back to using this (i hate to write a review which is really just going on about how much better another product is, but I have to be honest!) with this, my skin hurt and my hair stunk of chemicals for days afterwards, it also didn't provide the same shine as the Oleo. As far as actually being a long lasting colour, it was fine, however it certainly didn't leave it feeling silky or looking shiney, if anything, a bit like straw! If you want soft, try Oleo. As for the skin reaction, maybe my skin just doesn't like the harshness, i guess, but the quality of my hair has improved greatly by using the Oleo and i haven't had any ithcy or sore scalp post home dye since I switched from this one.
Tips: This is a good, cheap starting point. it certainly does give good colour, and it's easy to apply.
I'm 26 years old and have a whole lotta greys, inheirated, of course from my wonderful mum. I usually go to a hair dresser, but she was away in America and I was DESPERIATE! It says on the box 100% grey cover... so while following the instructions I focused on the roots, while paying special attention to the areas of grey. Afterwards, I looked in the mirror, I saw the greys were shiney light brown. Whithin at least two weeks the greys were shining thru. I know greys are a lot less pourous than coloured hair. Needless to say I was so disapointed. On a positive note, the smell was ok, it was easy to use, I had enough in the bottle for my hair (I have ALOT of hair)... and the colour matched what I wanted. Probably wouldn't use again, unless I was in a tight spot
