Just as the title reads, it's not the best home hair colour I have used but it's also not the worst. The products required come in a large box with a pleasant design. Very similar to most home colour kits.It contained a developer cream, colour cream, conditioner and applicator bottle. I was impressed by the amount of conditioner that they provided. It came in a 54ml tube which gave me a few uses opposed to the usual foil packets that you get with home colour kits. The instructions were easy to follow and I like the fact that the products contain no ammonia some more natural ingredients (there are still lots of other chemicals though) I don't have grey hair to cover so I can't comment on that but I can say that it did an average job of colouring low light in my hair. The colour came out nice at first however I found that it did fade quite quickly after a few washes.

I colour my hair semi-regularly, and I saw the Garnier Olia dye advertised EVERYWHERE, so I decided to give it a go! The packaging was quite lovely, and I was stoked with the amount of conditioner it came with: much more than most other home colour products, and I found the bottle easy to use. The dye had a surprisingly pleasant smell, and application was easy enough. However for a product that boasts how good it is for your hair, I found the quality of the product lacking. I used a red/brown colour, and found it faded incredibly fast compared to some of the other hair colours I had previously used. I also did not find my hair was any healthier afterwards than any other brands I have used. Overall I wouldn't say the product is anything special.
I loved the colour after washing it out and for the first few days but really it stopped there for me, it did wash out of my hair quite quickly & fade, which I'm not sure if it was the product or just my hair. The bottle was a bit of a pain as it's very round and hard to keep a hold of with slippery hands. Perhaps a different shaped bottle would be best
i brought this a few weeks ago and brought the Deep Violet colour. it did what it said about 100 % grey coverage as i sadly have grey hair :( lol. anyway this was a nice smell and it was pretty much easy to follow instructions and apply. It felt a lot more smother than other hair dyes that I've tried. once i dryed my hair i found it to be nice and had a soft feeling to my hair. the price was ok as i brought it on special at countdown for $11 and thought id give it a go. as far as the colour it turned out quite dark more like a almost black but it did have a little bit of a Violet shade in it. I found it didn't keep the colour in for very long and seemed to me as it faded only after 2 weeks. overall it was ok. and only if it was on special again i would consider buying it. I personally think they should have more purples but at the moment they only have the Deep Violet. oh forgot to mention that the bottle was quite round and it was a little hard to have a good grip on the bottle I could not see the point in having such a round bottle and also the bottle did not fit the cut out hole bit, that was on the box to hold it altogether while putting the mixes in, it just didn't seem to work..
Tips: always rub in Vaseline around your fore head and around your ears so your dye wont stain your skin. do this with any type of hair dye.
I'm a bit torn about this product, but will most likely continue using it because of the amazing colour. I use the shade Intense Red, which I have got so many complements on and truly love.
Unfortunately I think that is where the positives end. The application is awful, it's oil based, and feels like it. My hair felt so heavy and greasy I just wanted to shampoo it again and again, but didn't want to wash the colour out. I think that it is a it less drying and damaging and is nice to not have the ammonia smell but I don't think it's worth that. The formula is also quite difficult to spread thought the hair, I've coloured my own hair so many times and this was the first time i'd had a patchy result, so I was extra careful the second time. It just feels like it clumps in the hair a little bit.
The other big downside is how fast it fades, especially as the colour I use is meant to be intense, it doesn't look quite so good after a couple of weeks.
I would love suggestions for other products in similar shades so that I don't have to buy this again!
I am a sucker to a good colour hair dye and so far I have found this one is a pretty deal. My natural hair colour is browny blonde but I have been dying my hair red for the past 4 years I admit it is hard to find a good red hair dye that lasts, is bright to my liking (as I am fussy) and doesn't make my hair look/feel like straw, this hair is amazing, it is not my fave but it is definitely up there in the top 5.
The consistency is runny which can be a positive thing when it comes to hair dye and the amount you actually get. I usually takes 2 boxes to completely do my hair which is good because some brands it takes 3.
The smell is amazing, it doesn't smell like there are to many harmful chemicals in it and it leaves your smelling lovely, the condition that comes with the dye I wouldn't recommend as it doesn't fee/smell as good as some of the others and doesn't leave your feeling as soft as some do but all in all I love this product.
The packaging for the product is modern and has a good description of the contents of each box and a good colour indicator on the back of the box as well. <3
I had seen this on special at the supermarket for $11.25, with the red colour i'd been wanting for my newly cut hair. Excitedly I pulled this out as soon as I got home. The instructions and box are stock standard for hair dye. Putting the no1and2 into the applicator bottle was quick and easy, it mixed well with in a few hard shakes. I liked the different black gloves. Beginning to apply the product I noticed zero drips as the constancy was thick enough to not spill but thin enough to to evenly put through my hair with minimum smell. I disliked the bottle as once i had hair dye on my gloves I couldn't grip the bottle properly due to the shape. It was easy to wash out, and i loved the thick conditioner, it made my hair silky. Once my hair dried naturally i was dissapointed as it was very patchy (I've been dying my hair for 15 years and never had this issue before). Also my hair needed a seperate hair treatment as it dried my hair out. so over all a 3/5
Tips: Make sure you use all the conditioner
I was once obsessed with red colour hair and have tried almost all the red tones with blue undertones from numerous brands. I quickly found out that all of them drops into 3 categories. 1. Damages and dries out the hair but the colour lasts long. 2. Doesn't damage the hair or dries it out but the colour doesn't last long. 3. Double whammy. Damages and dries out and doesn't last long either.
Since this range isn't harsh on the hair, I decided to use the red colour from this range. Guess which category this falls into? Yep..the second. I tried 3 times and that was within 6 months. Had to dye every 5-6th week. Colour lasted vibrant through the 1st two weeks and ended up being dull by 3-4th week.
I like to dye my hair in between salon visits just to lengthen my colour in my hair . I try to keep my hair looking youthful and natural as much as I can .
Packaging comes in this box that bright and eye catching. Everything you need is inside like gloves hair dye etc. I find the consistency is creamy. Does have a chemical scent to it. After waiting for colour to work. I normally wash my hair after the wait chair
I think overall this does work on my hair. Price wise it’s fair. I can definitely see myself purchasing more in the near future. It’s an ok product.
It comes in quite a large box and has a few different bottles inside. I find it odd that the mixing bottle comes empty. The product was easy to mix once instructions had been read and the applicator bottle is a good shape and size for ease of use. The gloves were ok, they were an ok fit on my hands. It also had a generous amount of conditioning cream for after use
The product had a lovely scent unlike other hair dyes I have used. It was also quite easy to remove from my skin.
Overall the product was quite easy to use, and left my hair feeling in good condition.
Tips: choose your colour carefully
