I re-dyed my hair about a week ago using this dye and i was quite disappointed! It didn't turn out like the colour on the box and my regrowth, which wasn't very dark, turned slightly ginger. I was going for a dark blonde and it turned almost grey.

I used this dye when I was pregnant because somebody told me not to use the ammonia based dyes. I found it to be more pleasant to use than other dyes because it had no ammonia and didn't sting my eyes. I used the bright red colour and it showed up well in my medium brown hair and looked really cool because I had had belliage (excuse the spelling) previously so the lighter tips really picked up the colour. The only downside I had with this dye is that it faded fairly quickly (within a week or so my hair looked quite dull).
Tips: If you have long or thick hair do use two packets for good coverage to ensure the best results.
I bought this because it contains no ammonia, unlike many other hair dyes. It was easy to apply and did not make my scalp sting, unlike many other brands. The colour initially was true to the packet description - a dark brown that also covered my grey hair very effectively. Well at least for the first two weeks...... Unfortunately after that the colour faded giving me a rather gingery washed out look. My hair also seems very dry too. I would not use this product again. I suspect I woudl ahve better results using a temporary dye.
Tips: Make sure your hair is in very good condition before using this product.
I'm quite impressed with this. I have used the iced chocolate on a few occasions. I really love the subtlety of the colour but it does fade quite quickly. I find it is easy to apply and the conditioner leaves my hair nice and smooth. An added bonus is the minimal smell...my hair doesn't smell like strong ammonia after application. All in all, this is my current favourite
I brought this in the really intense red colour they have. It's really easy to apply. And it doesn't have the super over powering stench of an at home hair colour which is fantastic. After I had washed it out and blow dried my hair the colour was amazing and I loved it. I had so many comments the first week. Unfortunately the colour didn't last very long, every time I washed my hair the colour became more dull and faded. It has now completely washed out and I am left with my natural hair colour, so I wouldn't classify it as a permanent hair colour.
Tips: More of a semi permanent than a permanent.
Not as bright as I wanted it to be. Got the reddest colour and I wasn't really pleased with the colour pay off, the only thing that I liked about it is that it has made my hair shiny and even more healthy looking which is weird but good. will repurchase it since I like how the colour turned out despite the fact that it wasn't anything like the colour it supposed to come out as.
I purchased No. 6.60 in deep red and it promised me long lasting colour with shine, healthy hair and no fading.
The colouring experience was very pleasant because not having ammonia in home hair dye makes a world of difference, not only your scalp but your ability to breathe through the application process.
The amount of product in 1 box was more than enough for my thick, mid length hair and my head was completely saturated after application which I was very pleased about.
I loved the conditioner that accompanied the dye and 60ml was wonderful for use over the weeks preceeding colouring. I loved the richness, creamy texture and lovely smell. My hair felt amazing upon application and comb through was a breeze. No tangled hair, just soft and manageable.
Rinising the dye out of my hair was a nightmare, as it about 4 good shampoos to rinse all colour and residue out of my hair and in the end it didnt appear as if my hair was even coloured.
After blow drying my hair, the colour result was very disappointing as a my hair just had a tinge of red but nothing noticeable. The little bit of red I was able to achieve washed out so quickly so the promise of permanent hair colour was a fail. My hair however felt very nourished and healthy after colouring.
I dont feel the price matches the quality of the hair dye as there as many cheaper hair dyes that actually DO deliver permanent, long lasting hair colour.
Usually after I colour my hair (which is pretty frequently) my hair feels pretty fried no matter how much I condition it. After using Olia, my hair actually feels in BETTER condition after I coloured it, than it did before. I purchased it in Brown 5.0 to cover a dark purple I had in my hair before. it did a really good job of taking my hair to a glossy brown shade, and covering the purple which other dyes haven't.
As for application, it can be a leeettle bit tricky to apply seeing as it is oil based. This means it isn't as easy to "spread" throughout the hair and you really have to make sure you cover all the strands. Because of this, the application took me about 25-30 minutes. I've heard how a lot of people hate the bottle shape, but I really don't mind. The smell is SO much better than any of the other dye's I've used. The fact that is has no ammonia is really great, because for someone who colours their hair as much as I do, it's nice to try and minimize the chemicals. I'm happy with the colour, incredibly happy with the condition of my hair, and indifferent about the application. Because of the good colour quality, and the amazing condition of my hair, I would definitely buy this hair colour before any other box dye.
Oh dear! It's not often that I find something that I really don't like - as I'm a happy-go-lucky sort; but Garnier Olia was a real disappointment!
I found it to be thin and watery as opposed to oily as the name suggests. I didn't feel that this provided good coverage at all on my hair, with it somehow managing to slip past whole sections I'd applied it to, for no good reason :/
The colour was also a little weak for my liking and the images and chart on the box and for any area that it did cover, it did not cover the greys well, instead coating them and becoming brighter - which to be honest I did think was cool, but that's me. I'm sure someone who's not into crazy hair and fashion, may not be so pleased.
terrible in my opinion! I bought it because it was on sale and I liked the fact that it contained no ammonia. It didn't turn out the colour on the box, waaaaay lighter and it wasn't very permanent either. it looked like it washed out almost straight away
