I was pleasantly surprised by this mask. It was easy to apply, not too sticky/goopy like some other peel-off masks I have used before. I applied it with my fingers, using circular motions to get a thin, even layer and clean edges. It has a minty smell which also gave a lovely cooling feel to my face. It took about 20-30 mins to fully set. It didn't feel like it tighten the skin too much, it was more of a rubbery feeling. I held my skin taut and slowly peeled it off. It didn't come away in one piece like it says it would but did come away in large pieces. It removed some small blackheads (I don't have too many) and some dry skin patches, wasn't painful to remove either. Overall I think it did its job and I'll use it again.

Tips: An even layer and clean edges makes the mask easier to remove in one piece/large pieces.
I am a fan of Garnier face masks as they leave my skin feeling soft and clean and this mask is no different. My skin felt smooth and fresh after taking the mask off after each application and after using it a handful of times my skin feels super clean and renewed. I did find you need to put on quite a large amount or else it doesn’t peel off but once I figured out the correct amount it peels off easily which I found left my skin feeling smooth.
Tips: When putting it on, you need to put on a thick amount or else it doesn’t peel off so make sure your layer is nice and thick
This was a great peel off mask to use! First of all, it didn’t have a bad, overpowering smell when it was around my nose - often you get masks that smell so strong that they sting your eyes, but this isn’t one of them.
It takes a normal time to dry - personally I found that it didn’t take as long as it said on the tube which was nice. It was easy to apply to the face, as long as you put a thick layer on so the edges are thick enough for you to peel it off.
Once the mask is dry it’s really easy to peel off (as long as it’s a thick enough layer!). When I put it on I was expecting it to only pull out a few blackheads, but it actually pulled out a fair amount, which is definitely the best part of a peel off mask!
I think this is a really good mask, especially considering there aren’t that many peel off masks at the supermarket. It’s nice to have an easily accessible option that actually works. I’m looking forward to trying it a few more times and see if it helps my skin in the long run.
Tips: Make sure to apply a thick layer so the edges are able to be peeled up.
An internet crazy face mask that can be found in supermarkets.
This mask is great for someone like me who has large pores, blackheads and oily skin. I've really enjoyed the Garnier charcoal line but this product was by far my favourite. It's less painful than the expensive peel-off masks I've previously tried and doesn't have the PVA glue scent that some of the cheaper masks have. After peeling the mask off and washing off any remaining mask residue you are left with softer smoother skin and visibly fewer blackheads. Overall, I would highly recommend this product to all my friends with stubborn blackheads and will definitely repurchase.
Tips: Steam your face with some warm-hot water to open up the pores and apply with a mask brush so it's less messy.
This peel-off mask is really nice! When you go to squirt it out of the bottle, it comes out very thick. You need to shake it a bit as the consistency is quite sticky so it's not super easy to get out the bottle. If you like to layer it on your skin thick then you will end up needing to use quite a bit of product. I had it thicker on parts of my face and thinner on other parts and I felt it got into the pores better the thicker you spread it on your skin. It's not the easiest to spread it really even on your skin since it's so sticky. The smell is really nice and fresh but not strong. When you put it on it will make your skin feel cold and the salicylic acid will burn your skin a little, but not in a bad or uncomfortable way, in a nice and refreshing way. Maybe not great for sensitive skin though! It will stick to your hands a bit so you'll need to wash them well afterwards. It takes quite a while to dry properly, about 15-20 minutes. To start peeling it off you will need to scratch the edge a bit to start the peeling, but then it peels off nicely and it's easy to pull it off all at once in one part. It doesn't really hurt either, unless you have a fair bit of hair on your face then it's going to hurt a bit sorry! It will probably leave a few little bits on the skin but you can just wipe those off. I have quite a few tiny blackheads and I didn't notice it clearing those that well, but it definitely did get the bigger blackheads! My skin felt suuuuper smooth and clean after using it! I will keep using this, maybe once a week to see if it clears the smaller blackheads!
Tips: Pin your hair back before putting the mask on so it doesn't get pulled out when you peel the mask off! Also use it after a shower when your pores are more soft and open to help the mask get into them better!
I really loved this product, the size was good for a travel size and to chuck in your makeup bag. The shape of the container was good and easy to get the product out it wasn’t messy to get out. The actual product is what you would expect from a charcoal mask thick black gloss the scent is like a refreshing rainfall scent. The only thing I thought was tricky was apply it on my skin to get the edges thick enough so they were easy to peel off once dry. The mask dries easily and quickly enough and is easy to remove by pulling as you would with any other mask. My skin felt good afterwards however I would recommend toning or using a heavy moisturiser afterwards so your skin doesn’t dry out
Tips: Ensure you leave the edges thick enough or you will have a hard time pulling the product off. Easy enough to wipe off with a flannel or make up removing towel though.
I don’t have a lot of experience with these kind of things. Maybe once I bought a tube of it and it was like a bottle of tar that was torture to peel off and left small bits stuck all over my face. When I saw this, I thought I was going to be stuck with the exact same experience. But thankfully not! The liquid itself isn’t so thick that you need a steam roller to apply it, it spread quite easily. When it came to peeling it off, I noticed some had already lifted from my facial muscles moving, the rest peeled off nicely with little pain and I actually saw a visible difference in my skin - to the point where my boyfriend is now begging me to use this on him too.
I used this on my boyfriend who has blackheads along where his hat sits during work, he was SO excited after I used it and he’s been absolutely begging me to use it out on him. I was hesitant mostly because I expected him to act like I was waxing his face when I removed it, surprisingly not. He was saying himself about how he expected more pain then what there was (which was minor) and I wanna say that we saw about a 70% reduction in his blackheads. Ladies, let me tell you I did not expect my boyfriend to fall in love with this. I’ll admit the main reason I tried it out on him was because his blackheads made it a lot easier to gauge how much effect this was having.
Tips: My only recommendation would be to use a tool other then your fingers along the edges of where you apply this, so you can get cleaner margins. It’s not a huge drama if you don’t as any smaller pieces that are left behind come off super easy (unlike another version of this I’ve tried)
Garnier Pure Active Charcoal Peel-Off is just awesome. I tried using it in my whole face because I feel like my face is clogged and it was sooooo good! When the mask has dried, I peeled it off and I can see the blackheads coming off and not only the blackheads but also my facial hair. It hurts a bit when you peel it off but I like it because you know that it's working.
I usually break out when I use product with salicylic acid but not with this one! Simply amazing and will definitely use again!
Tips: Apply a thick layer of the product to make it easier to peel
I love the Garnier charcoal range. I often use the scrub/mask. It does wonders for my skin. When I got a random invite to this trial I was super excited. It comes in a box which has directions on how to use and what the mask does. The mask itself comes in a 50ml squeezy tube with a flip top lid. It is a thick, black sticky consistency like tar lol and has the same masculine scent like the rest of the range.
After washing my face I apply a generous layer on my T-zone as directed. I get no stinging at all. It has a tingly, cooling sensation but it feels comfortable. I put this on too thick the first time and it took forever to dry, so I put a much thinner layer on now. Just experiment with the thickness until you get it right. Now for the fun part! I gently peel it from bottom to top. This feels satisfying for me. It is not painful at all, athough if you have a hairy face you might get a free wax job lol.
I have blackheads on my nose and cheeks specifically and this definitely drew some of them out. There were little bits of gunk stuck to the mask! I could tell a difference especially on my nose. Thankfully my skin did not breakout. My face felt incredibly smooth and clean. It did not dry my face out at all. I like how you can just put it wherever you have blackheads, I will probably just target my nose and cheeks from now on as they are what annoy me most. It says to use 2 times a week so I have now incorporated it into my skincare routine. I love trying new products and this was definitely a nice mask.
If i’m going to be honest, I don’t really suffer too badly with blackheads so this probably wasn’t the best product for me…HOWEVER, I will say that I did notice a massive difference in my skin afterwards. It effectively removed any dead skin and oils and left my face feeling so smooth. This mask does take a while to dry, though! And with a lot of peel off masks, they’re a little uncomfortable to remove but so worth it!
Tips: It’s a little hard to remove so i would suggest putting on a thicker layer or removing left over product with a flannel!
