I have really enjoyed trialling this mask as I’m pretty obsessed with trying out new ones. I have tried probably 4 other black peel off masks but this is definitely the best by a long way. It was very easy to apply with the fingers(I did try with a brush but the formula was too thick) and rinses of your fingers easily. It does take around 20-30 minutes to dry but as I layered it on pretty thick I expected it to take this long. It peeled off really easily and I only had to rinse away tiny bits that didn’t peel off. I’ve used this mask 4 times now and I haven’t noticed any difference in the amount of blackheads on my chin or nose but my pores (the ones without blackheads) seem cleaner. Maybe with continued use on the t-zone it may help with blackheads but this wasn’t the case in the short time I’ve been using it. It’s lovely to have a mask that helps clear congestion and oils though and not have the tight dry feeling afterwards which seems to be the norm for charcoal masks. I will definitely repurchase this mask but more as a less intense treatment for in between heavier masks. Thanks again BR for letting me trial this product.

I really loved this product, the size was good for a travel size and to chuck in your makeup bag. The shape of the container was good and easy to get the product out it wasn’t messy to get out. The actual product is what you would expect from a charcoal mask thick black gloss the scent is like a refreshing rainfall scent. The only thing I thought was tricky was apply it on my skin to get the edges thick enough so they were easy to peel off once dry. The mask dries easily and quickly enough and is easy to remove by pulling as you would with any other mask. My skin felt good afterwards however I would recommend toning or using a heavy moisturiser afterwards so your skin doesn’t dry out
Tips: Ensure you leave the edges thick enough or you will have a hard time pulling the product off. Easy enough to wipe off with a flannel or make up removing towel though.
Overall, this is not a bad product, I just expected better results. When removing the mask my skin did look noticeably smoother, cleaner and more matte, which was positive. However, this appearance wouldn't last long, I would wake up the morning after application and my skin would be back to 'normal' (I am very oily). The product was easy enough to apply, but make sure you allow plenty of time for it to properly dry down - I waited around 40mins. The first time I used the mask I didn't use enough product, you really need to put on a thick layer - because of this, the tube wouldn't last long (I'm guessing less than 10 T-zone applications). I also found the product quite hard to remove, it really stuck to my skin!
Tips: Use a thick layer and make sure you let the product completely dry
I found this product really smooth and easy to apply, and not too sticky. The product itself feels cool and pleasant, and not too tingly on the skin! However I did find that this mask took quite a long time to dry down.
While it did tug on the skin a little when removing it (this is to be expected!) it wasn't too bad, and while I found that it left my skin really nice and smooth, I can't honestly say that I saw a huge reduction in blackheads and the size of my pores, particularly on my nose - I think it was effective at removing dead skin, though.
Overall its worth a try, and I certainly liked how smooth my skin was afterwards! I will keep persisting with this product to see if there is more of an effect over multiple weeks/months, though if you're wanting a fast-acting product, this might not be the one for you.
Tips: A thick layer will take a lot longer to dry down, but will peel off easier/in one sheet.
I've never really used peel off masks or the like cause I'm a bit of a wimp when it comes to peeling it off! But in saying that I didn't find this too bad. Super satisfying peeling it off and seeing a couple of little blackheads coming with it!
I did find the smell a bit chemically but overall not too bad. It was really easy to apply and didn't get too itchy as it dried. I was a bit unsure about how thick to apply it but it all dried pretty evenly so it didn't matter too much.
I found after using this a couple of times I did notice that I did have fewer blackheads in the areas that I applied it. I think that it did do what it says it does but I'm not sure I would buy it in the future as the smell does put me off a bit.
When received the first thing i noted was the simple insturctions on the packaging which looked straight forward. The mask itself is quite thick so took a bit of a push to squeeze it out.
Mixture feels sticky but easy to apply to face and also to rinse of hands afterwards, I applied to my T zone and chin twice in the last week as these are my problem areas when it comes to black heads.
The mask has a pleasant but not overpowering scent and went on easily I left on for 20 minutes by which stage it was dried completed and peeled off easily as well. My skin felt clean and soft after use and I was pleased with the results, however I have since suffered a breakout on my chin area so probably would refrain from using it there again.
All in all a good affordable product that does what it says.
I have really enjoyed this peel off mask, It has a very similar scent to the gel wash and facial scrub, it feels so soothing when you apply it, 10-15 min just peel off and see alk the gunk it pulls out of the pores, it leaves the skin feeling so clean an soft, i am definitely going to repurchase this, xx
Tips: Prepare for clean soft skin,
I have spent more money than I'd like to admit on nose masks and pores strips with minimal satisfaction, I'm afraid to admit how much money I've spent on them so my expectations of this product were reasonably low.
Yet again Garnier have blown me away with this charcoal range, I have repurchased multiple items in this line and this one will be on my list also!
The mask goes on smoothly, it doesn't separate like other masks like this that I have tried.
It had a cooling effect and a pleasant fresh smell.
It took a wee while longer than expected to dry but that's no issue.
The fun part - peeling it off. Oh this was so satisfying! It was not painful and did not grab onto hairs like other nose masks do yet it still miraculously cleared more from my pores than I've ever seen before!
I had no redness afterwards and I could visibly see a difference in the cleanness of my pores - as a daily makeup wearer I do like to deep clean every now and then and this was amazing!
The amount of...gunk...on the back of the mask was quite impressive for lack of a better word.
Now to convince hubby to let me use it on him...
Tips: Let it dry completely and peel upwards
I was lucky enough to be given this product to review. I was quite excited as I have reviewed a few other charcoal products and finally there are more peel-off products in the NZ market. Up until now, there has only been one generic branded peel mask at the supermarket and it didn’t work that well.
The Garnier peel off mask was small and compact which I liked. It came out a nice thick consistency right off the bat, not too runny and not with any shaking or prepping beforehand. It had a nice fresh smell similar to their other products, not too strong. It was very easy to apply, just over a pea-sized amount per area of the face was good and it layered fine where needed. I didn’t quite like how it suggested half an hour on the face as I can get quite impatient. However, I found that it dried slightly quicker than that and nice and evenly.
Once dried, it was relatively easy to peel off. Starting in an easy spot and then slowly peeling away works the best. Even scrunching your face to make a tear in the mask can make it easier to peel. Thankfully it comes off nicely in relatively big pieces, not quite one entire sheet but luckily not in small pieces. I found that not much came out of my face, but my pores did look cleaner, could be due to using a thorough cleanser beforehand. I would be interested in just washing with water and seeing if it would pull out much more. Some product would stay on the face, but this could easily be wiped away with a damp cloth.
All in all, I really enjoyed this peel-off mask, it made my face smooth and was a relatively painless experience. It is defiantly going to be my go-to at least until more come out in the market!
Tips: Scrunch your face once fully dried to create a tear in the mask to make peeling it easier!
This peel-off mask is really nice! When you go to squirt it out of the bottle, it comes out very thick. You need to shake it a bit as the consistency is quite sticky so it's not super easy to get out the bottle. If you like to layer it on your skin thick then you will end up needing to use quite a bit of product. I had it thicker on parts of my face and thinner on other parts and I felt it got into the pores better the thicker you spread it on your skin. It's not the easiest to spread it really even on your skin since it's so sticky. The smell is really nice and fresh but not strong. When you put it on it will make your skin feel cold and the salicylic acid will burn your skin a little, but not in a bad or uncomfortable way, in a nice and refreshing way. Maybe not great for sensitive skin though! It will stick to your hands a bit so you'll need to wash them well afterwards. It takes quite a while to dry properly, about 15-20 minutes. To start peeling it off you will need to scratch the edge a bit to start the peeling, but then it peels off nicely and it's easy to pull it off all at once in one part. It doesn't really hurt either, unless you have a fair bit of hair on your face then it's going to hurt a bit sorry! It will probably leave a few little bits on the skin but you can just wipe those off. I have quite a few tiny blackheads and I didn't notice it clearing those that well, but it definitely did get the bigger blackheads! My skin felt suuuuper smooth and clean after using it! I will keep using this, maybe once a week to see if it clears the smaller blackheads!
Tips: Pin your hair back before putting the mask on so it doesn't get pulled out when you peel the mask off! Also use it after a shower when your pores are more soft and open to help the mask get into them better!
