I have to say I was somewhat disappointed in this peel-off mask. We have seen them every where lately, the Charcoal black peel off masks including the ever funny Facebook videos of people removing them with tear jerking reactions. From the highly priced to the super cheap does Garniers Pure Active Charcoal Peel-Off mask live up to the hype of others?...I don't think so. If you are looking for a reasonably priced peel-off mask then this will tick your box ranging from 9-13 bucks depending on where you purchase it. Does it make your skin feel smooth and glowing afterwards...sure but that glow is from the pinch of the removal especially over the cheeks (so don't follow the picture on the box definitely stay to the forehead, nose and chin). I personally suffer quite badly from large and often clogged pores and I don't feel that this did anything to help this skin issue. I was hoping at the very least to have that ever satisfying moment when you look at the removed strip and see the tiny white dots from the gunk that just came out of my pores but alas I didn't even have this. So will I use it again?..not likely. Sorry Garnier I think you could have saved yourself a ride on this bandwagon.

Tips: Don't copy the image on the box for application, trust me your cheeks will hurt!
For a mask that was such a huge trend I don't see why it was so popular. It didn't apply evenly and would benefit from having an applicator. It was a horrible sticky consistency that felt more like glue than a beauty mask. It hurt to remove as it stuck to my skin really strong and left lots of residual pieces instead of coming off in larger piece(s). After removal my skin felt really dry and irritated. I won't use this again I would prefer something more gentle.
Tips: Maybe do a test patch first to avoid my experience, literally felt like I was ripping my face off.
I was so excited to try this, but was disappointed in the results. It is a thick black gooey texture. You need to apply ALOT in order for it to peel which took longer to dry than the time it advertises. Then peeling it was so inconsistant. I feel this product didnt do what it says at all.
I was so excited to trial this product as I wear a lot of makeup everyday day I thought this would be good to clean my skin properly. This unfortunately was not the case.
The 1st time I used it I don't think it was 100% dry as it pealed off rather easily. From what I had heard i was expecting it to hurt a lot. The 2nd time however it was definitely dry as it hurt like heck! It definitely pulled all of my peach fuzz hairs off my face. Ouch!
Immediately after my skin was nice a smooth. However the next day where I had used the product had lots of break outs. I am wondering if it pulled all the dirt to the surface but not removed with the mask. I waited till my skin was nice again and tried it again, unfortunately with the same result.
I will not be using this product again. I had such high hopes but was very let down.
It would be nice. But it's not true. I've tried all the strips and masks and peels and anything I can find to try and clear my incessantly blocked pores, to no avail. This is no different. I did feel somewhat cleansed after but the discomfort was absolutely not worth it. I would feel more clean and clear, wink wink, from using my normal cleanser than this. Not a single blackhead was harmed in the making of this review.(unfortunately)
I can't say I enjoyed using this product, although I do like the sleek dark packaging. It smelt nice and the instructions were easy to follow. The consistency was thick so applying it with my fingers was easy. I wouldn't say I have a lot of build up or blackheads, maybe just a bit on my nose but I applied it on my T-zone anyway. Once it dried I peeled it off my forehead and then chin which was a little painful, it looked it had pulled out a lot of my face fuzz; it was almost like waxing myself. The last part was to peel it off my nose (this was painful!) my eyes were watering and I had to give up and just wash it off with warm water. I personally would not recommend this to anyone unless you have crazy build up of blackheads etc... there are more gentler ways to cleanse your face.
Tips: Only use if you have thick skin!
I’ve seen many videos about this peel off mask . I thought I would get my hands on this mask see what all the hype is about. I like to do my weekly mask at least once a week . This way my skin gets a deep clean.
Packaging comes in a black and blue tube with the Ganier labelling . Consistency is smooth like a silicone paste. Scent reminds me of mint mouth wash. Definitely need to layer this up into a thick layer so you get a good result. It took a good 20 minutes for it to dry down. If you can leave it on for longer I recommend it . As I peeled the mask off I felt all my peach fuzz on my face come off . Felt like a mild waxing lol I didn’t really see any black heads being removed from my nose area . They were still there . I’m gonna keep trying it to see if there’s any new results that may happen.
Overall price wise it’s fair. It was so easy to pick from my job after work . I think it’s more of a novelty thing . My skin did feel cleansed. But not as deep as what my mud masks would give me . I probably wouldn’t buy it again because of that .
Tips: Do a patch test and tie your hair back .
Unfortunately as much as I wanted to like this product I didn’t. It was messy with minimal results, I didn’t notice any difference in skin texture after first use. The consistency is thick and black and gets everywhere if your not careful, i made the mistake of not pinning my hair back far enough and all my hairs fliaways got caught and stuck. Removing the mask was easy enough, didn’t come off in one clean go and it did hurt the sensitive areas on my zone. Positives- I love the ritual of a face mask, so I’d say it was nice to take the time out for myself.
Tips: Tie your hair in a high ponytail OR use a headband. Only apply to tzone. Use a bit of water to remove hard to remove areas.
I was very excited to review this mask as I have never really tried a peel off mask before. The sent was nothing special, and smelt a little chemically. The product seemed to be of a good consistency, but you needed to use more of the product in order to get a peel-able peel. I noticed that my skin appeared fresher and I noticed that it did remove some dead skin and some white/black heads. My pores did not appear to change in size. In summary, For the price of this product I would use this product again, but not considering this I would most probably reach for another product/ mask first.
Tips: Apply moisturiser post this application (and removal) as it can be quite drying.
My initial thought upon reading the label is that it takes about half an hour to set before you can peel - to me I'm impatient and was a little put off by that. Ive tried the same product before in other brands and it usually says 10 minutes. Anyway, application was stock standard, just applied it with my fingers over my T-Zones. I let is sit for half an hour and it still felt sticky. It wouldn't transfer to my hand but it also didn't feel like if I ripped it off it pull all the gunk out. I started to pull it off and it came off in pieces and was really annoying and didn't pull anything. So I tried it again a couple of days later and left it for 50 minutes on my face, still had that same sticky feeling but peeled in one peel when I pulled it off. It is very light feeling when you pull and it doesn't feel like you're pulling anything out of your skin. When looking at the peel after I couldn't see any residue on it so itt just seemed like a waste of time.
