I was thrilled to trial the new Garnier Micellar Gel Skin Wash, as I have been a fan of Micellar water for years now.
I was really surprised how thoroughly this cleanser removes my makeup, whether standing at the vanity or washing my face in the shower it's really easy to use and the pump makes it hassle free. While this gel cleanser does provide a good clean, I still feel that I need to use a second cleanse such as a treatment wash and a makeup remover for my eyes to finish the job.
While I don't have sensitive skin, I did experience a break out on the 6th day of using this. Whether this was related or not it was still interesting to report.
All in all I will continue to use this gel wash for its effectiveness, and non fragrant scent.
I really like this gel cleanser. I have always been a fan of the Micellar water, so it was exciting to try something new. Normally when I switch face wash/cleansers I get a massive break out for week or two while my skin adjusts. Thankfully so far have not had any sign of breakout since starting to use this. It has this really weird chemical smell, but it's very faint and not that noticeable. The gel is quite runny and I find it best to foam it up in your hands and then apply to face, as when I apply straight to my face I only manage to get foamed up on my cheeks. It is best to have your face already wet for easy application. I like that it can be used all over your face but I still prefer to use the water for my eye makeup as it gets a better clean. I have sensitive skin and have not had any issues with irritation or discomfort and my skin does feel nice and fresh when I'm done. Overall I really liked it but I'm not really blown away by anything in particular. The only thing that would make me buy this again over my regular cleanser, is that it gives me no skin irritation, everything else is kind of what you expect from standard cleansers.
