I have always loved micellar water and used it religiously pre child but have since gotten lazy and my skin has suffered. The garnier micellar gel wash gives me all the benefits and results micellar water does but with the ease of adding it into my normal shower routine. Although this gel wash is very watery it packs a punch and within a few days of using it I have seen a noticeable improvement in the overall texture and clarity of my skin. I will definitely keep using this and recommend to others.

Tips: It is very watery so make sure not to press to hard on the trigger as you only need a small pump
I was very intrigued when I heard about the Micellar Gel Wash as I had only ever seen Micellar water to remove make up. This product not only removes make up but it also gently cleanses the skin. The Micellar Gel Wash comes in a very handy to use pump bottle, and the straw part of the pump goes right down to the very bottom of the bottle so it is mess free and there will be zero waste. I found the consistency of the gel to be great, it's not too thick and jelly like so it is easy to spread with your fingers, but also not too runny either so doesn't make any mess or dribble anywhere. I found that one pump is plenty to cleanse the entire face, so the 200ml bottle will last a decent amount of time. The Micellar Gel Wash doesn't have a fragrance so would be suitable for anyone with sensitivities to scents. I was very impressed with how well the Gel wash was able to remove my make up, especially my very long wearing matte liquid lipsticks which are usually difficult to wash off. It felt very gentle on my skin, I only used my finger tips in gentle circular motions, without the need for scrubbing. When washed off, my skin felt very smooth and clean, and there was no sticky or slimy residue left behind. I feel that the amount of product you get in the bottle is very generous considering the reasonable price. The packaging is simple and transparent with a pink pump, matching the original bottles of Garnier Micellar water. I also love that this product is available on supermarket shelves so you can buy it while grocery shopping, which is great for busy lifestyles. Overall, I am extremely happy with the Micellar Gel Wash and I will definitely look at repurchasing it when my current bottle runs out.
Ill start by saying my usual routine is to use micellar water to get my eye makeup off and then using a face cloth and cleanser wash my face at night. This product does both these jobs with one product.
There is no major fragrance to the product so no off putting or strong smells.
It froths up easily with water and when using it to remove eye makeup there was no sting or tingle of any kind!
The packaging is simple and in keeping with the rest of the garnier micellar range.
The texture of the gel is nice and smooth but also not too runny like others I have tried, it makes a good blob that holds its shape on your fingers.
Instructions are clear and easy.
Good value for the price point.
The only downside for me is that i felt that my two step routine worked better at getting my mascara and eyeliner off than this one step so im not converted.... as an on the go, overnighter solution its definitely a good pick but for me as an every day makeup removing cleanser....ill be sticking to my current routine.
Tips: Use a clean fresh washcloth each day with your cleanser for gentle exfoliation at the same time :-)
Well I normally use a face wash for acne...but this stuff did a good job. My face is clean and soft. And best part is it doesnt blench my face clothes. So this face wash has got the thumbs up from me. But it didn't help with oil control. Oh well cant have it all. Soft on skin little to no fragence.
Tips: Dont push to hard on the pump top... you get a little bit too much
I really like this gel cleanser. I have always been a fan of the Micellar water, so it was exciting to try something new. Normally when I switch face wash/cleansers I get a massive break out for week or two while my skin adjusts. Thankfully so far have not had any sign of breakout since starting to use this. It has this really weird chemical smell, but it's very faint and not that noticeable. The gel is quite runny and I find it best to foam it up in your hands and then apply to face, as when I apply straight to my face I only manage to get foamed up on my cheeks. It is best to have your face already wet for easy application. I like that it can be used all over your face but I still prefer to use the water for my eye makeup as it gets a better clean. I have sensitive skin and have not had any issues with irritation or discomfort and my skin does feel nice and fresh when I'm done. Overall I really liked it but I'm not really blown away by anything in particular. The only thing that would make me buy this again over my regular cleanser, is that it gives me no skin irritation, everything else is kind of what you expect from standard cleansers.
I was super keen to try this as I love Micellar water and the Garnier one is my favourite!
You only need to use one pump and the definite advantage over the water is that you don't need a cotton swab to use it. It foams up relatively nicely and definitely removed all of my skin makeup! It says it can also be used to remove eye makeup and it didn't sting or irritate on the eye area. However, I found it couldn't remove all of my mascara without using something else. I had to bring out the face halo or a cotton pad to get the rest of it off.... this was probably the biggest let down.
It doesn't really have a particular smell. Just clean and fresh. Which is nice for a makeup remover.
It does the job it says (minus removing eye makeup) and it is very gentle on the skin but because of it not removing mascara I would always choose the water over top of this. The water would also last a lot longer as I find you literally need the smallest amount and a bottle of the same price would last sooooo much longer.
Good product, but the alternative is better!
I was a bit sceptical as I have tried other micellar cleansers but they were not very effective. However, this cleanser removes most of my makeup and is very gentle on my skin. My skin does not feel dry or irritated, even after washing it twice. I would highly recommend this to anyone with sensitive skin.
Tips: I use a makeup wipe to remove my makeup and then wash twice with the micellar gel cleanser to get rid of any other residue.
I love using the Garnier Skin Active Micellar water so I was pretty happy for a chance to try out the gel wash. It comes in a nice clear bottle with a handy pump. It worked well at removing my make up and left my skin feeling clean and fresh. My skin has become sensitive of late and it was good to see that this wash didn’t aggrivate it. Only thing I felt lacking was the quantity I had to use . It took a fair bit of wash to clean my face throughly. I'd definitely go for it again for specific make up removal use.
I'll be frank - not overly impressed with this micellar gel wash. I was intrigued because I use the Garnier Micellar Water and love it. However, I love it because I don't have to rinse my face afterwards. Putting it in a gel wash just defeats the purpose for me. But, I still gave this product a go. It doesn't foam up too much, and looks pretty cool in a clear gel form. But my skin was irritated by this, even though it was meant for sensitive skin. Not sure why, maybe I just have ultra sensitive skin? It also didn't remove makeup around my eyes, and I use mascara. To me, this product wasn't anything special, and that's a bummer.
I tested this every day for a week and it removes almost all make up on the first go! Waterproof formulas generally take a couple of washes but that’s ok because I didn’t find it drying which was nice. The smell though, ugh! It was a very harsh smell and I hated it for that reason alone. I’d use it if I didn’t have better smelling options, but I don’t think it’s my go to.
I wanted to like it, unfortunately I can’t get past the smell.
Tips: Waterproof formulas may require two uses
