Garnier Skin Active Vitamin C Serum Cream

I’ve enjoyed Garnier products in the past, and I don’t currently use a Vitamin C product so was excited to try this.

I need 2-3 pumps for my entire face. The first thing I noticed was that it felt like a makeup primer. This isn’t at all a bad thing, and I liked the balance of a smooth dimethicone texture without pilling upon application. I next noticed the fresh citrus smell, which isn’t overwhelming but something to note if you are averse to fragrance in skincare.

My issue is I don’t know what this product is meant to be… it basically has an identity crisis. It’s not really a serum so I don’t feel it gives a concentration of active ingredients. It’s not a cream so it doesn’t give moisture. The SPF is so low that you definitely can’t use it as your main sun protection. Maybe it is nice as a non-sticky hand cream? Or a stand alone makeup primer?

I definitely won’t repurchase or recommend.

This is a great morning moisturiser - especially good under makeup! The SPF & vitamin C also cuts down on two extra steps that I would usually do as well. I have sensitive skin & I was so surprised this moisturiser was nice & gentle on my skin causing no flare ups. Very impressed - especially for the price!

The moisturiser is lighter than I am used to so for the evenings, I make sure to use an intensive night moisturiser. But this works really well as it sits well under makeup and isn't too heavy

I would have to continue using this product to see if it will make a difference to my dark patches and acne scars on my face as I believe this is a more gradual process with brightening these up.

For me, the idea of this product is great: combining a serum with a day cream and adding SPF 15. The formula felt non greasy amd went on well, however I needed to use more than expected to cover my face. I have sensitive skin and didn't enjoy the 'feeling' of this product as it went on. The smell is typical of Garnier products, a strong but fresh fragrance. I don't feel a weeks use is long enough to judge the effectiveness of the key ingredients on sun spots. Overall, I would not buy this again as it doesn't suit my skin.

This is the best serum I have ever used. I love that this is not just a serum, it is a serum cream. It is so thick and creamy and feels so nice and soft on my skin. It makes my skin so soft and absorbs so nicely, it doesn’t leave a sticky residue like other normal serums do. I love that this also has a small spf in it. I have only been using it for a week but my skin does look brighter. It has a great unisex smell and this is a product I will continue to use and add to my beauty routine

I was lucky enough to trial this product. I love the fact that it has a sunscreen in it, and it's a thicker cream rather than liquid. To be completely honest, after using it for one/two times a day for a week, I didn't see any change with my skin at all. I have gifted the bottle to a friend and will update with her review :)

Cons: Left a slightly tacky feeling on the skin. SPF15 might be insufficient for extended sun exposure. Hydration level was average, not ideal for dry skin. Didn't address specific skin concerns like redness.

This is a 2 in 1 serum cream with 20% vitamin C and SPF 15 cream. Vitamin C is an antioxidant helping boost the brightness in skin and SPF helping to protect your skin from the sun and sun damaged spots. These two work hand in hand.

I haven’t quite seen a serum cream like it before which I found really cool. It has a really nice light scent- not overly florally or sunscreeny.

The packaging is a pump bottle, which works great for a serum - not so much a cream, which kind of makes pumping out the product hard, it’s fine for the first pump, but with SPF you need to get good coverage so sometimes it can get stuck after the second pump as it’s thick. After initial use you get that glowy look without being oily, and it dries down beautifully. Make up goes on fine over it as well, no piling.

I would definitely say after using it consistently my skin isn’t looking so dull and even has a slight glow to it without makeup.

I would definitely recommend this product for someone on the go who doesn’t have time to layer up their products.

Loved this product, found that it really brightened my complexion and absorbed into my skin easily, it also has a very pleasant subtle scent. It works effortlessly under make up and provides a perfectly hydrated base. My only flaw with this product is that I’m not sure if I like the combined serum/cream scenario and think I would rather use two seperate products. Aside from that loved it!
