Overall I like the finished look of this product, it gives quite light coverage and is nicely moisturizing so I didn't need to use anything first (usually I will apply a couple of drops of rosehip oil). I just find the smell pretty off putting, it is really strong! I accidentally rubbed my eye while wearing it & it got really sore & irritated. Also my hubby complains when he kisses me & is left with a yuck taste.
Tips: Don't get it in your eyes & warn anyone likely to kiss you on the cheek!
I have two of these, one in light in the tube pictured, and one in medium which is a different formula. The light one I found to be more creamy and thicker in consistency but sat a little dry and cakey on my skin - and I have dry skin anyway so used a primer but still dried out around my nose. The medium shade is thiner (so is the tube) and easier to apply and it sits a lot nicer on my skin and I don't need to use a primer for that one. So all up, it's a bit hit-and-miss but I won't be buying the lighter shade formula again, the newer formula works much better for me.
Better than the original formula ( which was absolutely awful), not as good as the oil-free formula which I really liked as it gave great coverage and it was almost pale enough for me but workable except for the fact that it was far too drying on me (I have normal-dry skin). This one is just a glorified tinted moisturiser - actually reminds me of a product Avon no longer makes which was called 'moisture shield' which had a very suntan coloured tint to it. This is actually quite dark for a 'Light' and I wished it was as light as the oil free version. If I mix it with a tiny bit of my trusty old white foundation and apply a layer of my ivory coloured powder on top I can actually make it work and am using it up as my stay at home/lazy weekend makeup and saving my Trusty well loved Revlon Photo Ready BB cream in pale for when I need to go out. One thing this cream does do well is fill in pores, it doesn't give hardly any coverage but with a powder applied overtop the look is very natural but poreless so that is a plus. I got this as a freebie so can't complain - will use it up but definitely won't be repurchasing as I have tried others which are much better. I would recommend this 'light' shade more for light to medium skin tones much too dark and a tad orange for pale old me. Does add a nice additional moisturising layer to the face for those ',makeup free' days and definitley isn't drying at all - plus it has a sunscreen and is paraben free which I give it an extra point for alone. Recently I am finding that my skin is looking more even toned and poreless after using this for a few weeks - perhaps the skincare element of this is really doing something??
Tips: If you are very fair steer clear - especially if you are 'rosy complected' this will be too yellow in undertone.
Very light coverage - think tinted moisturiser. You will need concealer and powder with this one as it is rather dewy.
Skin improvement? - definitely noticeable now I have used for a few weeks/almost a month - pores reduced and overall my face looks smoother.
When I first tried this BB cream, I thought it was quite good, but then noticed that when your skin is not looking so good as mine tends to, you find the coverage it gives you is not quite what you need to cover up those blemishes. Its a great tinted moisturiser that can cover up some redness, but if you're looking for excellent coverage, unfortunately I probably would go to something else.
Tips: If you want extra coverage for redness or blemishes, you're not really going to get it by using the BB cream by itself. I recommend putting this on and then perhaps adding a mineral powder over the top to give a more flawless look.
So i won this off the Garnier Facebook page like many other girls on here :) , I choose the medium in this which was sadly way to dark for me and came out very orange on my skin (yuck) i did how ever think it felt really nice on the skin but i don't need anti aging stuff yet so think il stick to there Sensitive skin one which i have in Light/Clair and its amazing!
Tips: medium is very dark!
I feel a bit bad writing a bad review for this product seeing as I got it for free, but I'm going to be honest about it regardless :D This cream is NOTHING like the oil free one by Garnier (that I adore). It's oily and has very little coverage. I like to wear BB cream as a sort of "light foundation", but this one hardly covers imperfections and even worse, gives my face a shiny glare...the way oil would. It has a good consistency and spreads evenly though, so not all bad. I would recommend this to people who have very very dry skin, and even so I'd suggest a powder on top.
Tips: If you have normal/oily skin, this product isn't for you. The "light" shade is actually pretty dark so even if you have a normal sort of skin tone (ie not pale) I'd for for light not medium. Using the oil-free BB cream by Garnier (this one is specific to oily skin) on top of a thin coat of this one actually looks rather flawless and no were near as shiny :)
While the BB cream didn't quite give me the coverage I was expecting, I find it great for the days when i'm not working so don't want a full face of make-up but still want something to even out my skin a bit. I did find it went a bit oily if I used to much, but over all happy with it.
Tips: Start using a little at a time, it's easy to put more on later to increase the coverage if you want. If you can check the colour against the skin - I got the light and it is perfect for me, so if you are very pale I think it would be to dark
I also feel bad about writing this review but I have to be totally honest about it so here goes.
The scent for this BB cream was nice but that was about it really. I applied it with a damp Beauty Blender sponge to get better results but I didn't really.. I found it very oily, it made my forehead and nose shine!! Lol. Also, I didn't get enough coverage, I had a couple of red blemishes on my chin and one right in between my eyebrows that it didn't cover or hide the redness either. Also it didn't cover the slight discolouration on my forehead which was a bummer because it's not obvious but I know it's there. Thinking back on it now I think it may have made the blemishes worse because of the oiliness. I'm realllly happy and grateful for the freebie but I'll have to think about whether or not I'd use it again.
Tips: For the ladies with dry skin that want to have SLIGHT coverage, apply with a damp make up sponge (it doesn't have to be a beauty blender one like mine), apply the cream to the sponge sparingly and then dab around your face. It's a lot easier to blend in with the sponge and you also can get into those hard to reach places. It will also give you an 'I just moisturized' shine.
I likes this BB Cream, although it did have quite a stong smell which almost put me off a little. It is quite thick in the tube but spreads very easily and does have a nice finish. It does feel a little oily on my fingers though so may not be the best if you already have oily skin.
Tips: I have dry skin and it worked really well for me, I think I would tend to use it almost like a primer for foundation as it gives a nice finish but I like a little more coverage :)
