Garnier Skin Perfector BB Cream Oil-Free Review

I have been using this product for the last week and have been very surprised that I have not had a breakout. I have normal to oily skin and blemishes which It usually causes me a lot of problems trying to hide and I end up having to use foundations and concealers. I found the BB cream so easy to apply as it was not too runny and not thick, I used my hands to apply and it spread really well. I did however find the first few times I used it the product oozed out as soon as I opened the lid and I was left having to clean it up from all over my drawer. The finish was matte and it was great as it took away the shine I usually have in my t-zone with other foundations. I found it had no smell which was great as I find I usually react to products with fragrances. I had hoped that it would have stayed on longer, after applying in the morning come lunchtime I felt I had to re apply as it would rub off on things like when using my cellphone I would have to clean the screen from the bb cream. I think it is worth the money if you want a quick and easy coverage. The packaging is great, I was very happy to see that Garnier is using a FSC certified cardboard for their packaging. I like that it has a 12 month expiry as I find I don't go through a lot of my makeup products before they need to be thrown away. Overall I was happy with Skin Perfector BB Cream oil Free and I think as I use it more and figure out how to best apply it for myself it will be even better.

I was excited to get this in the mail. I am 34 years old and still get quite oily especially in my t-zone so I though that this product would be a good match. It is quite heavy and I found that it took a while to blend in and almost left a sort of greasy feel initially and then sort of settled it self down. I wore it by itself and it didn't last long at all, I noticed, like I said that it got really greasy. Price wise, it is average and probably a good place to start if you have never tried a BB Cream before. So yeah, not bad but not a huge fan.

I was excited to trial this BB cream with the hope that I would finally find one that matches my difficult skin tone. I got the shade Medium which I believe is the darkest shade. I was reasonably lucky that it was dark enough (if your skin is quite tanned/dark this would not work), but I did find that it being purely a pink undertone colour, meant it was too cool for my Winter skin. As my skin is a lot darker and cooler in the Summer, it is currently warmer due to my fake tanning. The match was I think as good as I was going to get. It claims to: -instantly perfect skin -control shine -have a matte effect -reduce pores and imperfections -even skin-tone and boost a healthy glow.

Upon application which my trusty flat top kabuki I found the formula to be quite runny and would escape out of the tube even when I wasn't squeezing it. The scent it has kind of reminds me of PVA glue, but it does disappear once the product is on your skin. It applies evenly and does give reasonable coverage, I went for two layers (which it suggests on the box for increased coverage and a matte finish). I liked the initial finish of the product which does appear to hide imperfections and pores, it does not give a matte finish, but more of a satin kind of finish, something in-between matte and dewy. I applied the product over clean skin as it suggested and set with a matte powder. I found that after about 2-3 hours my skin was already started to get oily. So I would blot and re-powder my face.

The product lasted for around 8 hours on average, with it starting to really break down around 7 hours. I would powder around 3-4 times with this on, where as with one of my Matte foundations I would only powder twice in a day. By the end of a day, it would be really showing my pores and any imperfections I was trying to hide. Overall trying this product in various different way to see if I could get it to last longer, such as using a primer and a setting spray, I decided it was not really worth it. I will use this but only on those day when I am in a rush and I know it will only be on for a couple of hours.

Overall the product is alright, it is not anything special and I feel there may be better products out there, it claims many things, which at the start if the day are true. But throughout the day slowly wear away and leave an oily mess. I would not re-purchase this product, but I will use it up or give it to someone who will.

I have used many BB creams over the past few years and always seem to come back to this one. My skin is not actually oily or combination but rather more normal to dry. So this means I need to use a good moisturiser or primer before this BB cream. The consistency is very runny & the bottle does tend to get pretty messy after a while. It's best stored in an upright position. There is no noticeable smell/fragrance. There are 2 shades available. Light & medium. I tend to use medium in summer & mix the 2 shades in winter. Light on its own is very pale for me. They do slightly oxidise on the skin so deepen in colour. Of the Garnier BB range this one is the least orange one in my opinion.

I apply with my flat top kabuki brush & it gives a beautiful finish. It evens up my skin pretty well but I still apply a small amount of concealer to cover pigmentation spots.

Overall I think this BB cream is great. It has light to medium coverage & is build-able if need be.

Ok let's get the good stuff out the way. Packaging is good. It goes on like a dream. It smells pretty pleasant and the general coverage was good. It didn't quite cover my red cheeks but definitely disguised them enough. However I was only able to use for three days and even trying it on day 3 was a big decision. By mid morning on day 1, I had a pimple. I ignored it but by the end of the day I had 3. (Next good thing, because it's really light, it's easy to take off!). Applying on day two, it didn't really cover them. And by lunchtime on day 2 I had 3 or 4 more. I felt like a 14 year old again. I persevered with day 3 but came home to a face full and decided enough was enough. Something in it obviously just reacted with my skin. I know someone that uses this every day and they love it (and have no pimple issues). Maybe if they developed a medicated one that would be better for me, but the fact I'm still trying to clear the pimples a few days later, this one isn't for me and I won't be trying it again.

I didn't enjoy this product at all. I have recently tried and loved Garnier BB cream sensitive so assumed this would be very similar. I found this to be too liquidy in consistency. While this seems like a silly reason to not like the product I found that it came out of the tube too quickly and therefore made a mess in the lid and gave me excess amount each time I used it. I didn't like the colour of the product, and had the same colour in the other BB cream i used so I am not sure why it was so inconsistent. I also wasn't a huge fan of the smell - again in comparison to the BB cream - sensitive that I have tried previously. I did however like that while it went on (excessively) liquidy it dried and became a matte finish. Also it is a bonus that it has SPF in it. But because of the consistency and colour issues I wont be using this product in future.

This was the first time I had used a bb cream... I will be honest here and say that I thought it would be something I would apply to even out my skin tone, prior to applying foundation. Well..... I followed the easy instructions, applied once and was surprised that I didn;t need to reapply again. I went on to put on lip gloss and mascara and it was all I needed :) However it doesn't stop there, I got to work and recieved compliments about how 'perfect' my skin was without my normal foundation, flawless even... I loved it.. I have now been using it for over a week with two layers, rather than using my normal foundation.. It gives me perfect coverage, but looks like its just my natural skin tone without the flaws... I am so impressed that I have even gone out to buy a second tube for when this runs out.. I am not the greatest at applying make up so to find a product that fits my face well with the ease of a moisturiser is just so overwhelming that words cannot explain! :)

I was really excited to try this product so on it went as soon as it arrived in the mail.

As a mother of three under 5 it's rather hard to find time for full makeup application, but nice to still have something on your face to brighten and even out skin tone.

I loved most aspects of this product, it goes on easily and smoothly with either your fingers or a beauty blender, feels nice on, not too heavy or gluggy, great coverage with a hint of shimmer and it stays on well all day. The downside for me was that I have VERY fair skin and blonde hair and felt that even though I had 'light' it was still a bit too much colour for my face, and in certain lighting I felt like it showed a tinge of orange. The other downside (this could be a coincidence of course) is that I suffered from breakouts under my chin after a few days use however as I have sensitive skin I feel it was just getting used to a new product.

To conclude overall it does what it claims and is a good price for the product.

I love it. I have very fair combination skin that is prone to acne in the oily areas but also has dry patches. The product does everything for me that they claim it will. It handled the acne, dryness and sun spots my skin looks bright and fresh. Doesn't feel heavy or greasy on the skin but does have decent coverage still need concealer on spots but that's to be expected. Downside - I've fairly pale I.e. Nw13 in Mac studio fix and unfortunately the fair is a tad too dark for me. It was still pale enough that I was happy enough to wear it out and wouldn't be getting any strange looks but I would prefer a shade lighter

My skin type is normally sensitive/combination.

I found the consistency lovely and creamy. The application glided and blended on easy with the tips of my fingers. The coverage was light to medium and matte which kept the look nice and natural.

The fragrance is very light. This product definitely has lasting power for the whole day. It definitely makes your skin look more even.

The price is fair and definitely worth the money. The packaging is informative about the product.

I do recommend this product for anyone who wants to even out their skin tone with moisturisation. Doesn't dry fast so you have time to work with it, unlike foundations.
