Garnier Skin Perfector BB Cream Oil-Free Review

I was excited to trial this BB cream with the hope that I would finally find one that matches my difficult skin tone. I got the shade Medium which I believe is the darkest shade. I was reasonably lucky that it was dark enough (if your skin is quite tanned/dark this would not work), but I did find that it being purely a pink undertone colour, meant it was too cool for my Winter skin. As my skin is a lot darker and cooler in the Summer, it is currently warmer due to my fake tanning. The match was I think as good as I was going to get. It claims to: -instantly perfect skin -control shine -have a matte effect -reduce pores and imperfections -even skin-tone and boost a healthy glow.

Upon application which my trusty flat top kabuki I found the formula to be quite runny and would escape out of the tube even when I wasn't squeezing it. The scent it has kind of reminds me of PVA glue, but it does disappear once the product is on your skin. It applies evenly and does give reasonable coverage, I went for two layers (which it suggests on the box for increased coverage and a matte finish). I liked the initial finish of the product which does appear to hide imperfections and pores, it does not give a matte finish, but more of a satin kind of finish, something in-between matte and dewy. I applied the product over clean skin as it suggested and set with a matte powder. I found that after about 2-3 hours my skin was already started to get oily. So I would blot and re-powder my face.

The product lasted for around 8 hours on average, with it starting to really break down around 7 hours. I would powder around 3-4 times with this on, where as with one of my Matte foundations I would only powder twice in a day. By the end of a day, it would be really showing my pores and any imperfections I was trying to hide. Overall trying this product in various different way to see if I could get it to last longer, such as using a primer and a setting spray, I decided it was not really worth it. I will use this but only on those day when I am in a rush and I know it will only be on for a couple of hours.

Overall the product is alright, it is not anything special and I feel there may be better products out there, it claims many things, which at the start if the day are true. But throughout the day slowly wear away and leave an oily mess. I would not re-purchase this product, but I will use it up or give it to someone who will.

I was excited to get this in the mail. I am 34 years old and still get quite oily especially in my t-zone so I though that this product would be a good match. It is quite heavy and I found that it took a while to blend in and almost left a sort of greasy feel initially and then sort of settled it self down. I wore it by itself and it didn't last long at all, I noticed, like I said that it got really greasy. Price wise, it is average and probably a good place to start if you have never tried a BB Cream before. So yeah, not bad but not a huge fan.

I have been using this product for the last week and have been very surprised that I have not had a breakout. I have normal to oily skin and blemishes which It usually causes me a lot of problems trying to hide and I end up having to use foundations and concealers. I found the BB cream so easy to apply as it was not too runny and not thick, I used my hands to apply and it spread really well. I did however find the first few times I used it the product oozed out as soon as I opened the lid and I was left having to clean it up from all over my drawer. The finish was matte and it was great as it took away the shine I usually have in my t-zone with other foundations. I found it had no smell which was great as I find I usually react to products with fragrances. I had hoped that it would have stayed on longer, after applying in the morning come lunchtime I felt I had to re apply as it would rub off on things like when using my cellphone I would have to clean the screen from the bb cream. I think it is worth the money if you want a quick and easy coverage. The packaging is great, I was very happy to see that Garnier is using a FSC certified cardboard for their packaging. I like that it has a 12 month expiry as I find I don't go through a lot of my makeup products before they need to be thrown away. Overall I was happy with Skin Perfector BB Cream oil Free and I think as I use it more and figure out how to best apply it for myself it will be even better.

I really liked this product. I have normal to oily skin and have some redness on my cheeks which i always try to cover up, I've been trialling this product for a week now and i used the BB cream under my mineral foundation as a base/primer. It was fantastic! It doesn't have an overly strong fragrance so it was pleasant to put on, i applied it with my fingers as i would a liquid foundation but you could easily use a brush. It's a good consistency not too thin or thick and gluggly, it felt light on my skin even under my other make up. I found it made my mineral make up last a little longer than applying it without the BB cream, it gave a clean matte finish and It was super at minimizing those annoying spots and marks. I can at times get a bit of an oily forehead but the BB cream seemed to control this. You could defiantly use it on its own for a lovely natural finish but i personally found i needed a little more coverage, My only negative was I found that if i didn't clean my face before using the BB it clumped and stuck around the dry areas around my nose or around fine hairs i.e on your upper lip. I love the SPF 15 sun protection in it, i would definitely recommend Garnier BB Cream and i will continue to use it. I can't wait to see the results after using it for a longer period of time.

I have used this product for a while now. I am Asian so I have been using the Medium shade. The product is not too runny and not too thick so it is just of the right consistency. Like all BB creams it is best to apply it using your fingers (but you can use a brush if you prefer), place a pea-sized drop at the back of your hand and it can already cover most of your face. You do not need a lot as it has a very good coverage. It is not fragrant which is really good since I tend to get rashes with products that are fragrant. It does not smell at all. It has a matte finish. When I wear it, I always do not use anymore foundation. It can also be used as concealer by simply applying it twice on areas that needs concealing. And it lasts the whole day. During the days that my face is quite oily, I just apply a powder over my T-zone and that's all. Compared to most BB creams in the market now a days, Garnier is affordable and works really well. I have used other brands with the same shade and all, but they are usually heavy to wear and cakes up most often. I have no complaints as to the packaging and how it is presented. I would highly recommend this product especially if you are the type of person who does not like to wear so many layers of make up or products on your face. This is a moisturizer, foundation, concealer and sun protector in one bottle and in a few application.

I used this all week, loved the ease at which it went on, and that it covered my face well. I hardly ever wear foundation, and after using this all week am converted to using it during the week. I especially like the scent, which was very subtle. A very nice product, and no problems with it at all.

I was really excited to be asked to test this product; I am slightly addicted to BB creams and tend to favour them more than foundations. I tested the Oil Free cream in Light – which is very light; luckily I am pasty so this wasn’t an issue.

The packaging is sleek and simple, nothing special. Upon opening the first thing I noticed is that the product literally runs out to meet you, so since the initial opening I have been storing it up the other way as there was a lot of wastage stuck around the inside of the lid. There is a hint of fragrance in the cream, but its such a tiny hint its barely noticeable, doesn’t smell nearly as bad as some of the other BB’s I have tried.

The cream itself is a very thin texture, it gives very light coverage on the skin, but feels nice and lightweight at the same time, I always applied a small amount all over my face as it goes on like a tinted moisturiser and then built it up in the areas I need more coverage. Applying the second “coat” filled in my pores and hid any redness I had. The cream didn’t really set or give the matte finish effect it promised which was disappointing. It did build up nicely without going cakey but it was a bit of a mission trying to get it all to blend. Would not recommend applying with fingers as a brush gives a better finish.

The Oil Free bit was true to its word and it held all day and didn’t slide off at all. I didn’t notice any shiny patches through out the day.

All in all it is ok, not the best BB Cream I have used and again not the worst. It is affordable and I would purchase it again if I needed something in a hurry that was easily accessible from a supermarket etc.

I was very excited to try this bb cream as I have oily skin, so I put it on and it certainly makes imperfections less visible, its a nice fast product to use if you dont have time to put foundation on. Its very light coverage. I love how it makes your skin look when you first put it on but then after a couple of hours it starts to go patchy and it was actually terrible on my oily skin. I prefer the standard garnier bb cream not the oil free one. I felt like a grease monkey wearing it. Much to my disappointment. If you need to go to town in a rush and dont have time to do your face id reccomend this. But in my opinion I wont be buying it again as it didnt do what I thought it would.

Skin Type - My skin is a warm medium tan, oily. My specific concerns for my skin is how to control and minimise breakouts and to keep my skin clear and healthy 24/7. Consistency - The BB cream is quite light and a bit runny for my taste, slightly creamy. For me it would actually run out of the bottle even if I was not squeezing it. Application - I apply all my BB creams with my fingertips as it allows me to warm the product up and control application. It is easy to apply but you probably need two coats to reach a medium coverage. Fragrance - It didn't really like the smell of it, it smelt like plastic and chemicals. However, the smell wears off after you apply it and it not that detectable. Coverage - Definetely a light coverage with just one coat due to its runny texture, with a matte, almost powder like finish. To reach medium you need 2+ light coats. Longevity - It lasts for roughly 6 hours, however if you start to touch your face the product may wear off slightly. Price - It is worth the money for what you get. I personally like the Korean BB creams a bit more as they last longer and you don't need to apply as much to get the same coverage. Having said that, the Garnier BB cream is good for day time looks and when you just want to tweak your appearance slightly Packaging - Going back to the runny consistency of the BB cream, the tube and nozzle were a bit too easy for the product to squish out. The product would coat the lid, the nozzle with just the slightest pressure. Results - I didn't break out from it, so the oil-free label must have worked, it doesnt really perfect skin with blemishes on it that easily rather it smoothes out light blemishes and your skin texture.

I would only recommend this to friends who are looking for a light day-time coverage to smooth out and correct minor skin problems.
