Garnier Skin Perfector BB Cream Oil-Free Review

In my opinion, the product was weightless, smooth, great colour match for my light skin and really easy to apply. It lasted around 7-8 hours without the need to 'touch it up' at all! The texture was smooth and silky which also made for flawless appearance. It lessened the appearance of skin flaws and was delightful to use on my very sensitive skin. I would definitely recommend this product to both young and mature skin. I would also definitely buy it again for myself. A+++

I have been using this for the past week and have found it to be a great alternative to foundation. It provides great coverage & but is so light compared to normal foundation. I'm looking forward to seeing if this product really does reduce pores and less oily. This is one main problem I have when wearing makeup is the oily sheen towards the end of the day. Hopefully this product will help fix that so I'll keep you posted.

Packing: In a nice slim tube in 40ml size.

Color: I got the light colour from BR but it was too light for me. So I bought a medium colour from Countdown and it turned out to be little dark for me. I ended up blending the two to get the right shade of colour for me. I am very particular about getting the right tone of shade to match my face, neck and shoulders. I don’t like different shades on my body and prefer an even look. On researching online I found that Garnier does have light/medium and medium/deep shades overseas. Wonder why they didn’t release it in NZ?

Price: Price varies $10 - $18 but I got the second tube for $10 from Countdown, which is very reasonable for a daily use BB cream.

Smell: It has a light hint of alcohol smell which is not to my liking.

Trial: The consistency of this product is very runny. I had to pour it in a small jar to blend my light and medium shades. I applied the BB cream after moisturising my face. Since the consistency is runny, I could dab it on the face with my fingers and even it instead of using a foundation brush. On application it does evens the tone quickly and smoothens the skin but made my skin look way too dry. As the name suggests it's an oil free cream, no setting powder is required on this product.

On my second trial I applied a primer after moisturising and then applied the BB cream. This made my skin glow and gave a fresh dewy look. I like this look more and received compliments from husband too.

This product did last over 6 hours on my face before it got oily which is not bad at all for a daily use. I have been trying this product for over a week and like this natural look.

I would buy this product again only if they come up with light/medium shade.

I was so excited to try this as I thought "this could be the one". Unfortunately no, it really didn't make my skin look matte & made my skin oiler than ever. I thought the consistency was far too runny, I had to apply with a brush so it was spread evenly but wasn't a great finish, I still felt it was too thin on my skin. Not a good outcome for me, even after 20 mins my skin had a very visible shine going on & just increased to get worse throughout the day. A couple of days I had to remove my make up completely & start again, without the BB Cream on. Won't be buying this or recommending I'm afraid. :(

Welllllll.......I am known for being a bit of a BB cream addict. I have tried about 40 different ones and to be honest...this one didnt rate. For starters as soon as I opened the lid the cream poured out onto my black top ( it is not coming out anytime soon!). Then when I actually applied the cream I had different opinions- Pros: -Smooths the skin, is very soft and moisturising. -Was a great colour for my skin ( I used the light). -Stayed on all day ( with some powder over top). Cons: - Not very thick, I needed to apply a couple of layers to cover my uneven skin tone and redness. - Smells very much like chemicals. - when touching your skin afterwards, it will rub off very easily. All in all I would not repurchase this, it felt like more of a tinted moisturiser and I prefer a thicker finish.

This product went on smoothly to start with but dried really quickly, making it difficult for me to achieve my desired first even, lighter layer coverage. Dried matte as promised, but had a slightly unappealing powdery texture. I applied as lightly as I could to begin with and understandably, the coverage was not as good as I expected, However, I asked other people in my household at that time (without telling them I had applied anything) if they noticed a difference. Two women and one man - all said that whatever I had put on my face was not at all flattering, and looked very "artificial". Needless to say I did not do a second application for more coverage. I have olive skin and chose the medium shade so perhaps I should have chosen dark? The scent was ok,

Longevity - Lasted all day. Price - good in comparison to other similar products. Packaging - ok but way too 'busy' and even with my glasses I had trouble reading the small print. Results - I (and everyone else) was not happy with the look. It certainly combated my oil issues, but my skin felt overly dry. I would not recommend it.

My skin type is combination to oily and sometimes it's a little dry, I chose the medium shade to test out on my NC25 skin tone, and it appears to be a bit dark for me.

The BB cream is quite watery when I squeeze out of the tube, I like to use a primer before I apply the BB cream. During the application, it applies smoothly, I use a beauty blender to dab the products in.

The BB cream doesn't smell like anything, other than those normal moisturiser smells. It gives a sheer coverage but for some reason, my face feels heavy every time after I apply the BB cream and most of the times it appears to be very cakey and powdery with dry patches here and there.

This BB cream does reduces oil from my face and it would last up to 4 hours for me, then it starts to melt on my face, especially my nose area.

I like the packaging, the BB cream comes in a tall beige 40ml slim tube. I probably wouldn't purchase this myself as I really dislike the idea of having the BB cream melt into my nose area. After application it does gives me that glowy skin effect but after a few hours it starts to appear oily and I would have to touch up regularly.

On the packaging it states this product is suitable for the 40 - 50 age group, I see why it's not working as good as it should be on me. I have only tried it out for a week so I can't comment if it improves my skin or not, it says to allow 4 weeks for testing.

This BB cream claims to reduce oily, pore is minimized, imperfections are visibly reduced and skin radiance is improve. It does not reduce oil for me, instead it makes my face feels very heavy, shows dry patches on my face, made me look cakey and a disco ball face after 4 hours wear. It does minimise pores, but I'm not sure if that's my primer or the BB cream? I used Benefit Porefessional for the primer and this BB cream does cover some of my imperfection and cover redness very well, when the BB cream starts to smelt in my face, pimples here and there reappears.

Overall, the BB cream isn't as miracle as what it claims to be, but for those who enjoys a sheer coverage and don't mind the touch ups during the day, this would be a nice product to try.

I was very lucky to be able to trial this BB cream. It is my first time using one and was pleasantly surprised. I have combination skin, usually more hormonal at certain times of the month. Apart from the initial using of the product (it is VERY runny) I got used to getting it out slowly and refraining from squeezing to hard. It was easy to apply and I did this with my fingers as I would my moisturiser. My skin felt great, and I skipped my usual foundation. It felt nice and light and my skin could breathe. It did even out my skin tone to some extent, but there were still a few patches I wished had been covered, It is more a sheer/light coverage and I am used to more a meduim cover with my foundation. The second day I opted for my usual moisturiser first, then BB cream. I also put an extra wee but more over my cheeks that showed the red flaws I was trying to cover. I felt that it was enough to go to work without foundation or concealer. 3rd day and ones there after, I continued to use moisturiser first, then BB cream, then set it with a little powder. I had a small breakout, so also used a little concealer but had to play around to blend it in, as it was quite obvious what I had done! My skin feels and looks better for using the product and I continue to use it to see what happens in 4 weeks time with continued use. As I do not need to be 'made up' for work, this lighter, more sheer coverage is suitable, but if I was going out in the weekend, I would definitely want more coverage, My face did seem to have a more radiant look, and looked shine free for the most part of the day. My skin definitely feels better and softer. It was nice to have the spf added in (my moisturiser does too) and it leaves your face without the shine you can get from spf products. A nice matt coverage. The smell was ok, didn't really notice either way. As I have not used another BB cream, I cannot compare to price. Garnier is a brand I trust and I would have been likely to buy one of their products. I did not really like the box it came in (just didn't appeal) and may not have chosen it over another. I would reccomend this to others for summer time on its own (or when you don't need lots of coverage)- and alongside something else for evenings or when you need more coverage. Overall, quite happy, and look forward to the next three weeks and results they claim will happen! Appreciate the opportunity to trial :-)

For many years I had found that a cheap foundation couldnt cut it for my skin. Most of them have just been too oily and/or the coverage just wouldnt be enough for my liking. So to be honest I was expecting the same with this one just because I have been using expensive foundations for the last couple of years.

This has really change my thoughts on a supermarket foundation. I am really enjoying this for every day use and actually it can work for night time use as well! I will get this comment out the way because this was the only downer I found with this product and that is its a shade or two darker than my skin tone. I can almost get away with it but if I was outside on a sunny day you could see a slight difference but I am willing to make it work as I am really loving it!!

I do have an oily skin and I was pretty addimate that this would not be able to control my oily flow but man was I wrong! With it having quite a thin consistantcy I thought it was going to have quite an oily finish to it just because its a supermarket product but it doesnt! Thank goodness! It has a nice matte finish but with out it feeling powdery on the skin. I was so glad that I had a good amount of time to trial this as I did play with it using different methods and using other different products with it. I reckon you can quite easily use a flat top kabuki and a beauty blender and it gives you a good finish. My favourite method for every day though would be the beauty blender, it just gives such a beautiful finish without the extra work. I also got the oppitunaty to mix it with my other foundation and test it out by reapplying it at night when I had been wearing it all day. It works soo well in so many different ways.

I found that this product has a medium to slightly builable coverage so its definately enough to even out your skin tone. I also love pairing it with my Australis fresh and flawless powder becuase this can help to give a bit more coverage with an even more flawless finish, argh perfection! The longevity of this product I was nicely suprised by too, I wouldnt rely on it for day and night wear but it definately lasts the day or night quite easily.

I personally didnt find that it had a smell, mind you my sense of smell is terrible. The packaging in my eyes is very easy as its in a nice tall tube and there is no pump so you have complete control of how much product you are wanting to come out.

This is definately a product that I would recommend to a friend and even a stanger! I just find it so good for something of this price!!

Absolutely LOVE it. Perfect for everyday use, under or instead of make up. I've recently just been wearing the BB cream with a little bit of bronzer on my cheeks and nobody would know the difference. Lightweight formula, color match was perfect and the consistency is beautiful. The best part? There is heaps of product and its the perfect size to keep in your handbag!
