Garnier Skin Perfector BB Cream Oil-Free Review

I've been using this product for "light" skin tones, which is the lightest available color, however when worn, it is still a bit too dark for my skin tone and gives that badly matched foundation look unless the color is countered with a lighter powder over the top. The consistency of the product is very liquid, so it's easy to end up using too much. I've found that using a foundation brush to apply has been the best way to control this as I can wipe off excess product before applying.

Overall, it provides a bit of coverage and lasts all day without feeling like I'm wearing a lot of makeup. I did get comments about how healthy and "glowy" my skin was looking when I first wore it.

I haven't had a blemish breakout since I started using it which is a plus, as my skin will usually have major breakouts when using new products.

I would definitely use this again if it came in a wider range of shades with one available for a lighter skin tone.

The consistency of this product seems to be halfway between a liquid and a cream which I thought was a bit odd. It was easy to put on my face, but since I usually put it on the back of my hand and sponge it on, I felt like it may have run off the edge of my hand if I wasn't careful enough. This made me feel like I had to seriously think about what I was doing- On a Monday morning, I don't think.

I had the medium coloured one, and I felt like it was a bit orangey on me. My mum swore it didn't, but I did feel like it was just slightly more orangey than my other BB cream- But it may be that I just need the light going into winter (but this would be the first case of me ever needing a lighter one, as my skin has never lightened up for winter).

I do love the way this BB cream seriously smooths my skin and brightens it up. It covers the redness in my cheeks beautifully, that I need minimal extra concealer (which I almost always need with other BB creams).

I felt that this didn't feel heavy on my skin, it was beautifully light with some seriously nice coverage. I didn't expect something that light on my skin was going to make it look so stunning.

I also found that this BB cream had some serious lasting power, even without primer. I slapped it on before leaving the house at 9, had to go shopping, and then spent three hours in the kitchen, stressing out over the stove and everything, and by the time it was time for me to get ready at 5 (Partners 21st), the BB cream was still there, still looking flawless. This was without any touch ups, powder, or primer. It is seriously impressive stuff.

I didn't find the scent of this product either pleasant nor unpleasant. It wasn't something that I thought "Hell naw I'm not putting that on my face" but it wasn't something I was saying "OMGSH need on my face" either.

I think I might give this all five stars if I tried the light shade and it wasn't as orange. The consistency and slight orangeyness of this is the only thing I am iffy about of this product.

To be honest - I have had bad luck with Garnier skin care products in the past so I had fairly low expectations for this product. Fortunately, these were squashed and I was in for a pleasant surprise when I trialed this BB Cream!

Starting with the packaging and price - personally I like the packaging. You get HEAPS of product?! You don't need to use much at all and I feel like this is going to last me for forever! I think also because it's about the same size as normal foundations - it's actually pretty awesome because as a BB Cream you use much less than you would with a foundation so it's pretty good value for money. That being said I'm not sure how much this product costs (I can't find the price above) but i'm assuming it is around the $10-$15 mark. In which case - GREAT deal!

My skin type is very oily - plus I'm a primary school teacher and so I'm constantly touching my face, being sneezed on, sweating, stressing, painting etc so my makeup tends to rub off fairly quickly. This product was very helpful in settling my oil - I had no breakouts and my skin wasn't as oily with this product - however it didn't help my makeup last, nor did it last on my face for the whole school day.

The consistency was gorgeous! I would compare it a little bit to a moisturizing primer like MAC Strobe Cream, and a little bit like a liquid foundation. It was super moisturizing and easy to apply. I applied mine with a beauty blender and it blended in really nicely and almost sunk into the skin. I think it would also apply nicely with a kabuki brush or even your fingers. It's very much like a moisturizer.

The coverage, however, wasn't quite what I prefer. I am more of a medium to full coverage gal and this was very light coverage. It did leave an amazing dewy sort of glow over the face (I wouldn't say it's mattifying at all?) and covered some discoloration but not really enough for me. It isn't very buildable either as it just sort of sinks into the skin. However this makes it perfect for someone with great skin, or for someone in their teens who just wants a bit of coverage and a nice glowy finish.

After trialing the product for a few days I haven't noticed any changes to my skin but I will keep using for a few weeks and see what happens. I would say that it absolutely does everything it claims to do, although I didn't think it was very mattifying - gave more of a dewy finish.

Overall, I would 100% recommend this product to someone starting out with makeup, teenagers who just want a bit of coverage and glow at school, or someone with gorgeous skin with minimal imperfections as it doesn't have a lot of coverage and doesn't last for that long.

I will definitely be using this product again, however I think I will only use it as a base for my foundation rather than using it alone. I'll primarily use it to produce a nice glowy finish and will observe whether it makes any difference to my skin regarding pores and oil.

I have oily/combination skin, and have trouble finding a product that helps combat the oilyness and products that dont make me any more 'shiney'. On first impressions i was pleasantly suprised with the packaging, it was easy to tell what the product was and easy to read. now to the review: The actual cream itself is very runny and if left without the lid on, it leaks everywhere (i didnt really like this about it), but in saying that, it makes it alot easier to apply. (quicker and easier to blend) I wore this 6 different ways so i could get a decent understanding of the product, no primer/with primer with hands, no primer/primer with beauty blender, under foundation, and with setting powder. The best application came with Primer/no primer used with Beauty Blender! flawless finish and had heaps a great compliments. Now, the thing is I have a olivey skin tone and am definatley not a light colour, but the colouring of this (medium) is too dark for me. I had to blend it all the way down my neck so i didnt look funny. I even tried a lesser amount but was still not too happy. That aside, i LOVED the finish, matte and not oily and even ater 12 hours wear under fluro lights and air con, it stayed perfect. It wasnt until about the 10 hour mark that i noticed that i was getting oily. The coverage for me is full, but my skin could still breathe, which for me is fantastic, as a dont like feeling cakey. It also covered my blemishes which was awesome as i didnt need a concealer. The smell is not strong and it doesnt last long at all, Usually smells in makeup make me sneeze all day, but this product didnt, and i didnt find it unpleasent at all. For the price of this product i would purchase for myself most probably in summer when i am darker, or if Garnier bring out a Mid tone shade ie: light/medium, (this was a trial product for BR), So to sum it up, I really liked this product minus the colouring and the consistancy, other than that i would totally reccomend to family and friends but will tell them about my issues with it also.

So it wasn't perfect - but I did quite like it! I've previously used the 'normal' version of the Garnier BB cream but because my skin is 'combination' thought that the oil-free version might be a better fit for my skin. Apparently that's not necessarily the case. I found that the oil free version if used straight on my cleansed skin (i.e. no base moisturiser) was too drying and gave my skin a dry/flakey look on my dryer areas (cheeks mostly). However - if used over a moisturiser or as a 'topper' over the normal-skin BB cream it had a great mattifying effect. For me it was closer to a foundation than a tinted moisturiser (compared to the 'normal skin' version which I found a lighter covering and closer to a tinted moisturiser). For me personally this will be a fixture in my gym bag - but along side it's 'sister' the normal-skin version and I'll use them both when I want a more covered look. At the price it is, it's still a cheap option even when using both!

This BB Cream was much better than I was expecting. I could replace my foundation with this cream. The coverage was pretty good, although I did find that it didn't cover blemishes on my skin as well as I was expecting. It felt very light on and wasn't greasy at all and definitely helped keep my skin oil free. I would definitely keep using this cream. It's cheaper than foundation as well and feels a lot less "cakey" on which is great.

This great for my oily skin! It gives light coverage but manages to covers up my pores really well, has matte finish and easy to blend and apply. Matches my skin tone really well and feels great on my face like i have nothing on which I love.

The worst thing about this is the packaging. I have to tip the bottle upside down and be very careful when squeezing out the product because it spills everywhere.

I have a combination skin type and I found this product was perfect for my skin. It didn't leave my skin feeling oily, instead it felt smooth. It's a perfect product for daily use. It has great coverage and you only need to use approx a pea sized amount.

I have combination skin, but the majority of it it oily. Usually when I use foundations or BB creams, my skin breaks out a few days later. This was not the case for this cream. I have used a Garnier BB cream before and I expected this one to be the same.

I was wrong.

This cream was more liquid than cream, and I applied it using my beauty blender sponge after I had washed and lightly moisturised my face. I used the light colour because I found that BB creams tend to look a bit 'darker' a little while after application and lets face it, I'm light during summer, so I'm as pasty as paper during winter. It was easy to apply but as it was a liquid I just used a little at a time and built it up if I needed more coverage. It gave a nice light coverage which is exactly what I like, with a matte finish. I don't know if I was just used to looking at it or if it had began to fade a little bit, but I felt it wasn't as covered as I was when I left home 8 hours earlier. However when I took it off that night there was plenty on my make-up wipes. I used this product the first day I received it then waited a few days to see if my skin would react to it. I was very happy to find out that I was not breaking out in my usual places (chin and nose), and my skin still felt nice after using it. Super stoked with this BB cream as with the last one I was using my skin would break out and get oily a few days later.

My only problem with this one was that it got a bit darker about an hour after application, and went a tiny bit orange. It didn't look too strange, luckily, because my arms are tan (only part of my body that will actually tan and hold it!) so I looked normal, but I was not expecting it to get darker. Was a bit disappointed at this because I expected the colour to stay the same or get lighter, but it went the opposite way.

I used the Garnier BB cream for oily/combination skin every day for a week. I have Combination Skin with the occasional blemish around cheeks or chin. I used the medium toned cream. I think it was a little dark but once blended into the skin and wearing other makeup the colour looked fine. The cream was quite runny and dropped out of the tube if I didn't put the lid straight on. The runniness made getting the right amount difficult and sometimes I ended up with too much cream. It came in a tube and was easy to squeeze out and apply. The tube fits nicely in my make up purse making it easy to take with me in my handbag.This BB cream is easy to apply. I used my fingertips and applied it without moisturising first. I got a nice matt finish which left my skin looking fresh without shine. The fragrance was light and I didn't notice it when applying or wearing the cream. It is long lasting and I use it in place of moisturiser, foundation and concealer for everyday wear. For an evening out I would apply two coats. It feels light and doesn't make my skin feel caked like a regular foundation. Most of my blemishes and any large pores are minimised. I'd recommend it for people who don't want a heavy duty cover. This cream seems to do what it says except for the part that says "instantly perfect skin", my skin looked better, not perfect. The cream for combination/oily skin does control shine and has a matte effect and it reduces pores and imperfections. I can use it without moisturising but sometimes my skin feels a little tight and I could do with a moisture boost. The price is good in comparison to other brands I have used. It is possibly better than my expensive Lancôme BB cream so better value for money. My skin looks nice without looking overdone and it feels and looks quite natural. I would definitely recommend buying this cream and would use it again. I'd like to try the light tone to see if it's a better match for my skin.
