Garnier Skin Perfector BB Cream Oil-Free Review

I've never been a wearer of liquid foundation but recently my skin got quite bad and needed a bit more coverage. This BB cream gives the coverage of a liquid concealer and events out red marks and skin tone perfectly. I apply, let it dry then apply my concealer over the top before setting with powder. the oil free formula is a lot better but the disadvantage is that the skin colour tone available is quite pale and so unfortunatly requires more applications of foundation, bronzer etc. to achieve a tanner, naturally glowing effect aswell as the flawless look.

I tried this product as part of a sample and I didn't really like the colour of the bb cream as it didn't seem to suit my skin tone right. The coverage was good but the smell was horrendous. I thought because my face is oily, that the oil-free would suit me well and I even tried setting it with a pressed powder, but my face still look shiny. The formula is very runny and runs down the side of the tube easily, and seems to get all over my dresser as well. I think I will continue with my old faithful bb cream until they perfect it.

I originally bought this product (normal to oily version for my combination skin) to take on holiday to Thailand - I love the idea of getting some type of coverage without wearing full make up. For this purpose it worked absolutely perfectly.

For anything else, i.e. wearing daily to replace regular make up (especially if you usually wear medium-heavy coverage), this isn't what it's intended for and it definitely doesn't work for me. Using a powder over top definitely prolongs the wear, however I definitely don't believe it can be used in the place of foundation. By the end of the day I feel like I'm not wearing anything and feel that awful slightly greasy, slick feeling.

The BB cream does what it says... it brightens and gives your skin a light coverage. However, I just didn't like the texture. It seemed a bit dry and I felt I needed to moisturise my skin before putting on the BB cream (and I have combination normal to oily skin type). I have very fair skin, and the light colour was simply too dark for me. It's a good product, but it just didn't tick all of the boxes for me.

I got this product because I thought it would be good as I have oily skin. When I got it home I tried and found it very runny especially compared to the normal one. It did give nice coverage but it just didn't make my skin look nice, it seemed to dry it out.

This product wasn't really for me. It was to orange for my skin tone & made my skin really oily, therefore causing breakouts which is what I don't want!

My skin is on the lighter end of the Olive skin spectrum. I have chosen to trial the Light range of the Combination-Oil Free Range.

Packaging is average. However, once I started using this BB Cream I found the tube and screw on cap to be impractical. This BB cream has a watery consistency which has a tendency to leak out if tube is left lying down or cap not screwed on properly. Also because of this free flowing consistency, there is little control in getting out the amount needed and when one is in a rush, it can get a bit messy or wasted (take extra care when squeezing the soft tube). With its watery consistency, I found it takes a bit longer to absorb into the skin which is a bit inconvinient when you are in a rush.

Wha it say it does. I have found the Light range too pale and did not offer me enough coverage. I have the Medium range beforehand which I found a shade darker but ok to use. I have combined the Light and Medium by mixing a drop of both range on top of my hand and used it for the rest of the trial. I must say it is fantastic! The mix offered me the shade and coverage I needed. Did not need to use any foundation. Also, I found that it also did not gave me shine and my face stayed relatively fresh for the rest of the day especially in this cooler months. I would not recommend using this in summer though, as I found last summer, in hotter weather and with sweating it can leave a little shine and rubs off quite easily. The SPF protection is a positive feature for this BB Cream.

I wouldn't say this is the best BB cream, but it is reasonable for its price and affordability. I recommend this BB Cream as something to use when you are at home or running a quick errand and want to look fresh.

This product I found was very orange for my skin tone as I am quite fair, this product also makes my skin looked really caked so it isn't the best product for me

I received this BB cream in the colour “Light”, I don't think this is an overly light colour, over the summer I am a MAC NW20, and this BB cream is really close to that colour. So it's a tiny bit too dark for me.

This has such a watery consistency, it bubbles out of the end when you open it.

Garnier claim that all you need to do is apply it like your regular moisturiser, for increased coverage and a matte finish, apply a second time. I applied it once and I got a light coverage with a definite shine. The second application was a much better coverage but in no way a matte finish. So that's matte finish out. Shine control, I started shiny!

“Reduces Pores” I'm sitting a metre away from the mirror and I can see them, which really sucks because I don't normally have an issue with my pores being overly visible.

“Corrects Blemishes” I don't have any blemishes at the moment to test that claim out, but it has covered my red patches on the second application, so I can see that it would cover blemishes.

My face feels quite dry underneath the BB cream. Also the BB cream feels very heavy on my face, and it is sticky to the touch.

This transfers onto other things way to easily for my liking, I took a phone call and I had BB cream all over my phone afterwards. If I touch my face I get BB cream all over my fingers. This doesn't feel like it “sets” at all, and needing a setting powder is not what I want to be doing when I wear BB cream, I want to be able to slap it on and go, if I need setting powder I might as well go the whole 9 yards and put my foundation on.

I don't hate this, I just don't think it does as it claims. This needs to be treated more as a foundation when applied, it most defiantly needs a finishing powder or spray.

It does give a nice coverage, but I'm not going to rush out and buy this because I just don't think this works for my skin. Every little lump and bump is highlighted.

I really wanted to love this but I just can't.

I wanted to try this for as long as possible but it is making my face itch so much, it needs to come off, and I will probably be gifting this to someone else to try.

Unfortunately I can't rave about this product! I was holding out hopes that I had finally found something that would control my oily/breakout prone skin, however this just did not do it for me. It applied very well, a very light texture, and although wasn't the coverage I was hoping for, it still gave a nice glow to my skin . I think that it did an alright job, however I will not be rushing out to buy this again due to the fact that I was having to powder my face all day!
