I am the laziest of the lazy when it comes to sectioning and all that sort of stuff. My general routine is out the shower chuck in some argan oil, let it air dry for 10 mins, blow dry then straighten.. I don't do any fancy sectioning or do any thorough meticulous straightening I literally just run it over, no comb or anything and the results are pretty damn impressive. I used to use a remmington straightener before I upgraded to GHD years ago (this is about my 3rd or 4th ghd now) and I can safely say I will never go back to any other brand or be sold onto something else. These are the crème de la crème and they can talk the talk!
Tips: Yes they are expensive however, they are a worthy investment. If looked after they will last YEARS and when you decide you want to upgrade you can get a decent chunk of money back on them via on selling.
Yes this is pricey at around $300 but consider it an investment piece, the best straightener I have ever owned and it also allows you to make curls, waves etc so it really can replace all of your hair appliances if necessary (though I still use heated rollers and a tong and am addicted to velcro rollers which I use after my straighteners I only usually straighten my fringe and ends as I like volume at the roots). I have had mine 2 years and it still looks and feels like new. Please make sure you buy from a reputable retailer there are so many fakes out there and so many people I know have been caught out paying big money only to find they have been sold a very authentic looking fake even some of the sellers have no ideas they are fake! Try and buy in person if you can from a reputable salon and keep your receipt somewhere safe and register straight away to assure your authenticity.
Tips: Always buy from a reputable salon - beware of fakes!
I have been using GHDs for just over 6 years now and they are fantastic. Usually get a new one every year/ 2 years so I can change the colour lol. I have thin ones also for my fringe as the normal sized plates do not work for my fringe. For all the ladies and guys without one you should invest in one :)
Tips: Still can not use them to curl! Anyone have any tips?
really love the classic ghd - they definitely style and straighten a lot better than the new versions ! they are expensive, but are a really good investment to make for your hair
This is definitely a must! Ever since my mum got GHD's we both have been booked on them. They are so easy to use and definitely gets the results that you are after. It is well worth paying that little bit extra to get a product that you know is going to work!
Tips: Section your hair out to allow you to get all the strands so that you get super straight hair and make sure that you use a decent heat protectant
I have the classic styler for close to 7 years now. Definitely with the $300 I paid back then. My hair is fine but I have a lot of it! and it's wavy. I am pretty low key in my beauty regimes and hardly ever blow dry and still get great results from my GHD. It makes my hair look stronger and healthier. Well worth the investment.
As above. I utterly adore my ghd. Had it for about 2 years and cannot believe how long I faffed around with my silly Remington straighteners! They snapped my hair, lasted 6-12 months before needing replacing (I went through three) so I thought stuff it, I'll just cough up for a damn ghd. Never have I regretted spending that money! There's no snapping, no pulling, no dragging, no fluffy regrowth from where my hair used to continually break, fewer split ends, less frizz, the list goes on! Sure, heat treating your hair is never good for it, but I only do it every second day and it's fine. Just use a heat protectant product (I like giovanni) and an oil at night to condition and you're good! Also ghd's, because they're so much smoother yhrough your hair, make the most gorgeous looking loose curls! So easy, too! ♥ my baby. Would never be without it.
Tips: Invest! Just do it! No point in wasting $50-$80 each year replacing your cruddy budget tools which wreck your hair.
These GHDs are the best thing since sliced bread and I just could not do without mine! My hair is frizzy, wavy, dry and uncontrollable. Before I discovered GHD, I actually had dreadlocks! I could never make my hair look nice. But thanks to these babys, when I straighten my hair, its soft, glossy and friz free. LOVE them!
Tips: Make sure you use a good heat protector and a nice serum or oil after using :)
I don't know how I lived without my GHD. I use to have a Remington but there is just no comparison. My hair is extremely thick and curly and I love to have it straightened, I only wash my hair twice or sometimes only once a week and let my hair dry naturally then its the magic touch of my GHD. It only takes me about 30mins on a good day but I have had neck surgery so as you can imagine it is very hard for me to look up/down, sideways everything a neck is supposed to do I'm a tad different lol so 30mins I think is awsome. I still get frizz but that I believe is the products you use. I am extremely happy with the ability of the GHD to straighten my hair, everyday I just need to run through my hair without having to devide it up into sections and that takes about 5mins to get the look I want. I watched the tutorial on BR "How to curl with GHD "but a little sore on the neck so will have to wait to try that. I don't know all the techno details of my GHD but I really don't care, it just does a fantastic job, effortless and easy. It is one of the items that I would grab if there was a disaster. I have had a few burnt tips of my ears but would never blame my GHD lol
