GHD aren't what they used to be; as a hairdresser I personally still use my GHD's that were mass produced in China little over a year ago, however in Salon we use and stock Cloudnine straighteners and curling wands and would never put our clients hair through the heat and stress that GHD's put on your hair because they don't have temperature control

the gold classics are great if you want straight hair. if you want a few bends, kinks, curls, save yourself the extra money and get originals! i find the plates of this series give a really square bend which can often look like you have damaged dry stiff hair instead of bouncy curls or a textured beachy wave.
Tips: opt for originals or eclipse series if you want more than a straightener
I purchased this type of ghd and took it back to buy the original black ghd as this is apparently better for your hair as it doesnt get as hot but with allot of frizzy hair it wasnt suitable for my hair perfect if you dont have allot of hair or if you have straight hair
Tips: only purchase if you have thin straight hair
The newer ghd's arent what the old ones are. I brought my ghd when they first arrived in store and it definitly lived upto its name, but after 3years it broke, i brought a new one expecting it to be just as good, but turns out not so much :( very dissapointed.
Tips: No tips, as not as good as my old one was.
I used to have a GHD but recently upgraded to a Cloud Nine which I find so much better! It doesn't give your hair a yuck smell like the GHD did and it smooths and shines your hair so nicely. I love my Cloud Nine and I don't know what I would do with out it. :) xx
I loved my GHD when I first got it (Original) But when I went to repurchase (out of curiosity) I wasn't impressed. It straightened your hair really well but after about 6 months of using it it started turning on and off and beeping randomly and wasn't straightening my hair as well as it used to. Its packaging is beautiful as is the straightener but the workmanship is just not as good as it used to be. Bare in mind I did buy my straighteners from the hairdressers
Tips: Buy a Cloud 9. Be careful of fakes because if this didn't do me well I can imagine how bad they will be. Also don't forget your heat protectant spray.
My Original black GHD was amazing and when it broke after like 7 years I thought I would buy another GHD... They can only get better right?..wrong soo annoyed i bought this as it's no where near as good as the original.
I have had 3 GHD's in the last 5 years, I have sold two and kept one. The one I kept I have had for at least 8+ years now its the old style the first ones that ever came out they are amazing. The new ones suck and take double the time to do your hair. They also smell of cheap plastic and are horrible I think its just the brand that people are buying them for now. So if my old one was to break I would not be buying another GHD but I would be buying a Clound 9!
Tips: Don't buy a GHD buy a Cloud 9!
