Gillette Venus Embrace Disposable Shavers Review

I bought these from the supermarket when they were on special. I am loathe to spend lots of money on razors as they all go blunt fairly quickly and need to be replaced.

I'm used to razors with disposable heads and three blades, but these have five(!!) blades and no disposable heads. I do find the disposable heads better for the environment, so having to get rid of the whole blade and handle each time is an annoyance.

The handle is light, well balanced and comfortable to hold. The head is quite big which makes it difficult to move around tricky bits like knees and ankles. The hydrating strips help to keep skin from drying out, and the blades last quite well before needing to be replaced.

I will be buying these again - five blades is awesome

I didn't buy these myself as disposables aren't my thing...I usually just buy blade refills for my usual Venus razor, but, I received these and thought I might as well put them to use.

I honestly thought the 5 blades was just a gimmicky marketing ploy and wouldn't make a difference...but...It did give a nice close shave and reduced the irritation I often get with shaving as I didn't have to go over any parts twice. For a disposable these are very nice to use with lovely shaped handles, just, like venus standard razors, just a bit lighter. The blades lasted a good period of time before becoming a bit dull and dragging, but, lasted just as well as a blade refill does so I was happy with that. They probably end up only slightly more expensive than buying blade refills so are pretty good value for money.

I probably won't repurchase just because I find tossing a whole razor a bit wasteful, but, may pick these up next time I travel overseas.

I go through a new disposable razor every couple of weeks. I've tried the just-replace-the-head option to reduce waste but haven't found one I don't lose that is readily available everywhere for refills yet! In the meantime, I'm loving this offering from industry giant Gilette. These are the Venus Embrace razors - one option in a huge range - which are some of the best disposables on the market, in my opinion.

The packaging on these steers away from the normal girly pinks and purples (which I do love, but still) and features a fresh lime and 'swimming pool blue' colour scheme. The razors themselves are a clear lime, with white grip on the sides , top and bottom, a white head, with a blue area around the blades and a green 'moisture ribbon' both under and over the 5 close-set blades. The blades are further protected by a clear plastic removeable shield.

I prefer these for a very simple reason - they leave your skin smooth, hair free, nick free, and - thanks to the moisture ribbon and whatever the blue surround is, feeling really nice! They leave bikini line less red and bumpy, underarms much more closely shaved, and legs without missed bits more so than any other disposable I have tried. They're funky colours and an easy-to-hold (and use) design. They are usually available in the supermarket for somewhere between $10-$15, which is on the spendier side but you only need to buy a new packet once every 4-6 weeks, so it's not too bad.

I keep on coming back to these and am happy to recommend them; they work. I'm not delighted about the amount of packaging/waste that winds up in the trash, but haven't found a solid alternative yet so will continue to de-hair this way :)

This razor has a thin gel layer on the razor that moisturises my skin during shaving. It leaves a clean and smooth shave,never leaves cuts, and nice feeling. It gives me the closest shave, clean shave with no bumps, cuts. This is the razor I use and repurchase all the time. It lasts me a long time. Would definitely recommend!

Gillette Venus is one of those shavers that never disappoints. You can find these shavers at most stores. I like to purchase mine from my local supermarket. As spring/summer is approaching I start to buy shavers. There's so many different types you can choose from. But I guarantee that Venus will provide the best shave.

The packaging of these shavers come in in this baby blue with lime green. It has the Gillette Venus labelling on it. This shaver has a soft handle that's easy to use. There is five blades on this shaver which provides a close shave. The head of this shaver pivots so its easy to move across your skin.

When I use these I normally use a shaving cream. I apply that first then I use this shaver. It just glides over my legs nicely. I've never cut myself with these either. I think their reasonably priced. The quality of these shavers are so good. I can make one last over a month. I just shave about once or twice a week . I definitely will keep purchasing these, their really good.

Gilette Venus Embrace do just that. They embrace the trend of funky colours rather than the coral/pink of many other lady shavers. They embrace the need for easy glide across the skin with the gel like strip on either side of the blades. They embrace the need to get as close as possible to the base of the hair with the tilting head. The embrace everything a lady needs in a shaver ensuring under arms and bikini line are also smooth with minimal redness and are provide a nic-free, smooth finish. These are not be the cheapest shavers on the market but you they last longer than budget brands hence providing value for money.

Gillette is one of my go-to shaver brands. I’ve always felt the quality and cost is really one of the best in the market.

The lovely colour of this attracted me- greens and blues! Yes please. The packaging is fun and just reminds me of summer.

The disposable razor is comfortable and makes shaving easy. My sensitive skin is fine with these razors and using my Weleda body wash it just makes a smooth shave. The quality is great.

These razors are a must have in my cupboard. A great product which I will continue to repurchase.

I'm super fussy when choosing shavers as I have super sensitive skin. These shavers actually irritated me and no matter how careful I was using them, they kept nicking me and making my legs bleed.

They do leave your legs smoother than an electric shaver but I wasn't wowed by them.

The only thing I liked was that the fact they were comfortable to hold.

I've been using this one for a few years now. I find disposable razors more hygienic than ones that you change blades - when they go blunt and build up gunk you just bin them.

I'd love to invest in a better hair removal appliance, but shaving each morning is still convenient. With this razor I can quickly shave in the mornings without worrying about cutting myself. The finish is silky smooth skin. It does a really good job for the price. I use a body oil after shaving to ensure my skin stays moisturised.

A good buy for the price, especially when on special at the supermarket!
