Id used heated eyelash curlers in the 90s and loved them. I always had to buy online overseas as we never had any here in NZ. For me they were a life changer as I have been using manual eyelash curlers since I was 15. I used to heat the pad up with my hairdryer, but that resulted in the burning of my eyelids multiple times! So when I saw this being advertised I jumped at the chance to review it and I wasnt disappointed. Its brilliant does exactly what I needed to do and gave my lashes a really lovely curl. So yes I highly recommend this product if you are are eyelash curler girl, or try it if your not, the results speak for themselves.

Tips: Hold firm for at least 15 seconds on each eyelash
I gave up on eyelash curlers years ago after experiencing being pinched, kinked lashes and curling pads that kept falling out. When I saw the new heated eyelash curler from Manicare I was super excited to give it a go! Did it restore my faith in eyelash curlers? Most definitely!!! This lash curler is much more manageable than the old metal ones, as it is easy to hold and not fiddly at all. It takes 2 AAA batteries, and when switched on heats gently to a comfortable heat (won't burn you skin if you accidentally touch it), you will know it is ready to use as the pads turn from pink to white. Place up to the top lash line and slide up the leaver to close the pads over the lashes, there is also a third pad which pushes the lashes back onto the pads, hold and release. My lashes were left with a lovely natural looking lift, to get a more dramatic effect do it again! This is a great tool and I would definitely recommend it to others.
Tips: Wait until the pads are completely white prior to use. I held it on the lashes for 20 seconds at a time and used twice for a more dramatic effect. Don't forget to turn it off as it will use up batteries!
The first time I used this I found it really hard to see if I actually had any curl because the tips of my eyelashes are so blonde! After applying mascara they kinda looked lopsided which must have been due to the angle I applied the device. I was pretty disappointed to be honest.
I tried again with it today but deciddd to put a small amount of mascara just on the tips of my lashes so I could see what I was doing. I got a much better result but i did have to apply the device to each eyelash 3 times and as it didn’t get the very corners of my eyes. I had to angle the device into each corner of my eye to get all the lashes. Happy with the result today. Does it do more than a mascara on its on….? Maybe but I didn’t notice a huge difference.
Tips: The mascara on the tips helped me see easier - however did leave black on the silicone. Would perhaps suggest eyelash tinting for those with fair lashes
For the last few years I have been heating my eyelash curler up with my hairdryer to get that perfect curl (probably quite dangerous and risky as it’s an uncontrolled temperature), so when this product showed up in my inbox I was excited to give it a try.
Unfortunately, the excitement stopped once I used it.
Pros
-Love the feature of the pads changing from pink to white to know when it’s at the right temperature - It heats up pretty quickly. - Quite light and small
Cons - Although light and small, the curling part feels quite restrictive and chunky - Didn’t fit my eye shape or short lashes so missed a large parts like my corner lashes and I struggled to re- adjust to get them to fit entirely - felt a bit too warm when I tried to get all my short stubby lashes in
The lashes that did get into the machine were curled and lasted well after the application of mascara
Overall I think if you had medium to long lashes this machine would work great and the price is reasonable enough to invest with the chance of a fantastic result.
Tips: Avoid if you have short straight lashes
I've never used a heated lash curler before, so can't compare it to others. However, it's MUCH nicer to use than an ordinary lash curler. It doesn't pinch at all, and it heats up super fast. I get a much better curl than with a traditional lash curler, and it lasts longer too, though it does start to flatten throughout the day if I don't wear mascara. I do have to curl my lashes 2 or 3 times to get a good curl, but that's not really an issue. I'd definitely recommend this, even just for the ease and comfort compared to traditional non heated curlers, and it does hold reasonably well even without mascara. I don't think I'll ever go back to a non heated curler after using this!
Tips: Holds better with mascara. You may need to repeat the curling process a few times to get the desired curl, but that's not really an issue as it's super fast.
This product is awesome. I inserted the batteries when i dust received it and tried it out straight away. It heated up like the packet said, it didn't get too hot which i was afraid of, just warm, but enough to curl those lashes. I only needed to clamp them once for 15sec for it to give me beautifully curled lashes. Bonus is they stayed curled until they got wet (kind of like of you straighten your hair) i love these curlers and have been using them daily. Thank you so much for choosing me for part of your review team!
Tips: Apply mascara after not before.
First impressions were ‘it feels super cheap’ , then I realised it is cheap to buy so I can’t complain on that part! I put batteries in, turned it on and wow, it heats up super quick. The pads change colour within seconds. When I go to use it, it freaks me out. The feeling of heat going close to your eyes is super scary. But you literally press it for about 2 seconds and you’re done! I have the tiniest lashes and it makes them look much longer!! You use less time than a manual curler. Super easy. Only downfall is that it’s hard to push the button up fully, to get it to fully clamp your lashes, and it feels like I might slip my thumb and then the curler will pull all my lashes!!! So you have to be super careful. But otherwise, it does what it says! I’m gonna keep using it before I put mascara on each day. It doesn’t add much time into my routine and it really does work!
Tips: Don’t apply any moisturiser beforehand, if you have slippery hands it makes it super hard to use. Also don’t hold for too long otherwise you just get kinked lashes rather than curled.
I have long but straight lashes, and while mascara applies nicely to them (as long as the formula's good) and I get a nice lift, it never lasts long, which means I am a fan of eyelash curlers for when I want a little extra oomph.
This eyelash curler is heftier than the usual, but I liked how it felt it my hand. It felt safer, somehow. It's simple to work - just turn on and the pink strip fades to clear when it's heated up enough that it's time to curl your lashes. It took me a few goes to get a hang of, but after the third time I found the best angle and learned that you had to push the lever all the way up so your lashes are held tight, then keep the curler there for a good 15 - 20 seconds to get a result. And what a result.
Initially I wasn't sure it had done much, but on applying mascara my lashes looked fake. Super long, super high, and super gorgeous. I'm a convert, and can't see myself reaching for a traditional curler ever again.
Tips: Push the lever all the way up, and hold it there for a good 15 to 20 seconds to get the lift you want.
I was curious and excited to try this curler as my old one died a couple of years ago after more than a decade. That beloved old thing was from a different brand, a simple wand in the shape of a pen that I applied after mascara.
Obviously technology has improved since. This Manicare version has all the bells and whistles. The gorgeous bronze gold colour has colour changing temperature sensor that heats it in less than 60 seconds.
It takes me a few go to get used to it. I find it a bit hard to gauge the right position for curling. It emits way more heat than I expected, which made me feel a bit nervous sticking it near my eyes - still prefer my old pen-like version as I could have more control about how close it was to my eyes.
I wasn't sure about the dual silicone pad, I think the one further from me isn't really helping to curl the lashes. One of my eyelashes also came off the first time I used the curler. I don't remember ever losing eyelashes using my normal metal curler!
The curler is a tad bulky and heavy for my liking but it does a decent job making my eyelashes stayed curled for the whole day. My thumb felt a bit uncomfortable holding it in place. Again, I'm bias, as my old curler was very slim and very portable.
I have difficulty curling the lashes on the outer corners of my eyes, which makes me wonder if this curler is more suitable for people with more curvy eye shapes. I'm still not successful in curling those parts but will keep trying to see if I can find a suitable angle.
Would happily recommend this to people with curvier eyes.
Tips: Make sure you have 2 AAA batteries as they're not included in the box.
This is quite a cool (well hot) device. I don’t have much in the lash department so have used a traditional unheated lash curler for a while now with minimal results. But now that I’ve tried the heated curler, my old curler is redundant. It’s really easy to use, the silicone pad changes colour from pink to clear to indicate that it’s ready to use. I was nervous putting it close to my eyes at first thinking I might scorch my eyeballs however by the third try I was more confident and realised that it is designed in such a way that you can’t get burnt. You only need to hold it on for 15 seconds to get the results so it’s quick and easy. This might sound weird, but I actually felt like my eyes were open wider after using this and I felt more awake! Would recommend!
Tips: Doesn’t include batteries (not written on the packaging) Apply mascara immediately after curling to lock in the results.
