Quite The Disappointment

Intrigued by the concept of "just add water" to adhere lashes. I've tried most other types of lashes: standard glue, magnetic, adhesive eyeliner. Was interested to see how these compared.

Gorgeous style. Taking the lashes out of the pack, they were quite stiff. The lashes are pre glued. The instructions say to dip in water. I tried dipping my finger in water and running it across the lash band. This wasn't enough. I dipped the lash band in water and got the root of the lashes wet also.

Admittedly, instructions said to wait 1 min and I probably waited a bit less than that and tried to apply the lash. Very stingy in my eyes! I think it's cause the water/glue mixture ran right into my eyes. It wouldn't stay on much to my frustration.

After trying twice more, I still couldn't get them to adhere, or for a long duration; I gave up and used adhesive eyeliner. Did somewhat manage to get the other lash adhered with water. One for each eye to compare.

The water one lasted 4 hours before I had to remove and reapply. It wouldn't stay on. Says it is for 3 applications but I couldn't get a full one use.

This is just my experience with it, but it's not for me. I'm glad i can still get use out of the lashes using adhesive eyeliner but no more water use. It's not something I'd purchase but would still recommend if your looking for an alternative lash option. It may work out better for you and if not, lashes can still be used with a glue option.

Glam hydro lashes

These lashes look very pretty. Soft and long in a lovely box which you can easy put them back into. I found it quite tricky to get the water onto the lash line only and the first time got the lashes all wet as well then it was hard to apply. It was quite hard to just wet the lash line and I found they didn’t stick very evenly. And we’re quite fiddly. Would be good for a night out if you could get them to stay on evenly but I think magnetic are more my thing.

Tips: Put a little water in a shallow dish or something and use tweezers to dip them in.

Disappointing.

I was so looking forward to wearing these to my friends wedding. Normal eyelash glue irritates my eyes so I thought these would be perfect. However, the lash band was so stiff. I like to wiggle my false lashes before wearing them to loosen them up so they fit to my eye shape better, but you couldn't do that with these. Even after I had dipped them in water, they were stiff and crunchy? I eventually got them on my eyes, but the band was stabbing into my skin (yes, I trimmed them down to fit my eyes!) and were just too irritating to wear.

Great in theory, not so much in execution.

Not as easy as I would have hoped

Perhaps, I’m not the best person to trial these lashes as, apart from magnetic lashes, I’m not the best with applications. I really wanted to like this trial and lashes but, unfortunately, I did not find them the easiest to apply. I trimmed the lashes to suit my eye shape and then dipped them in water and waited 60 second (as per instructions on the packet), then tried to apply them but they would not stick! After several attempts, I even tried to apply them to the back of my hand to see if the adhesive is working but no such luck! I’m not the greatest with false lashes in general but these seemed to be particularly difficult for me to apply compared to magnetic and glue/adhesive lashes.

If anyone has any tips and has been successful, I would love to hear so I can edit my review!!

Its a no from me

So first of all, I do love the idea and the concept of the water adhesive. It did work really well, became sticky etc, and I loved not having to do the glue! In terms of time saving- great option.

Unfortunately, the 1st time use- I got no more than 2 hours before they started peeling off, in different sections. I also did find them heavier than other lashes. The 2nd use, they had barely any stick left at all.

I think they would be great for short, short term use/ photos etc, but for me, I think a solid mascara and eyeliner is easier to apply and use. In the first hour- the sticky was very much on, they wouldn't have budged in a hail storm, but time does not seem to be a friend for these lashes.

I did love the dramatic effect of the lashes, but on me they probably were a bit too much.

Tips: You dont need to leave in the water too long- it really is 5 second dip- and apply as soon as tacky :)

Don’t like

Super hard to apply, sticks hard to eyelashes !! I use a lot of strip lashes over the years and these are by far the worst. Would never buy again as it ripped out heaps of my natural lashes trying to take them off

Tips: Don’t buy lol

A bit of practice required

So, I was excited to try these, as I really like the look of lashes, but find the whole process of applying glue and getting them to stick to be a challenge. The idea of being able to dip them in water, wait, and stick, seemed awesome and maybe a little too good to be true.

I tried at first to put a just little water, but this didn’t make it sticky enough to actually attach to my lash line. So, I tried again with more water, again, I couldn’t really get a good level of tack to apply. On the third try, I had much better luck and actually got it applied to the lash line. However, some parts were not stuck down, while other parts were sitting fine. In fairness, the parts that were stuck down definitely were stuck, I had to soak those areas with a wet cotton pad to get it off, if the whole band was properly stuck no doubt they wouldn’t of moved.

I think this product could work, but requires a bit of practice to get the knack of how much water you need along with an even application. It also felt almost as messy as applying lashes with glue, but there was less control about getting the adhesive amount right. However, I think these lashes to travel better than anything else, as you don’t need anything extra to take with you.

Found it a little tricky

I think the main problem for me is I didn't wait long enough for the water to dry and it didn't stick and ended up getting misshaped from the process of trying to apply them, you really only have one go. Which for me is Abit of a bummer. I got there in the end but the first eye looked slightly funny, they lasted the day. I prefer the magnetic lashes.

Tricky little things

As a total newbie to these I found them tricky to put on. This wasn't helped by the fact I couldn't see what I was doing without my glasses. As suggested they did need a slight trim of length. The adhesive is good but not sure if would fo 3 times. Only had time to try once. I found after about 5 hours they started to annoy but maybe that is because I'm not used to them and maybe not exactly where they should be.

Tips: If you wear glasses maybe get someone else to put them on for you like say your partner.

Not for me :(

Firstly let me preface this by saying, I'm not super talented at applying lashes to myself on my best day! I was really hoping the whole dunk and apply thing would be as easy as it sounds - and looks for that matter having watched the Manicare online video for Glam Lashes but it just wasn't to be for me.

The instruction on the packet are brief - there is no mention of the time the lashes should be submerged for, a quick google gave me The Chemist Warehouse website where the instructions say to "Dip lash band in water for 5 seconds and then remove from water, Wait 60 seconds for the water to absorb into the lash band. then apply & allow to dry"

Sounds easy right? For me apparently not so much :( Left eye first attempt I could get the left end to stick and the right end flapped in the breeze, Right eye first attempt had the right end stuck and the left end flapping around :( At this point I called it a day as I really hadn't allowed enough time to have multiple goes before running out the door.

Also - side note - the instructions say to apply your lashes last step in your makeup routine, for me this is a disaster! Wet lashes smudged the makeup I already had on :(

Second attempt I allowed a lot more time and applied the lashes to my eyes with just primer and foundation on my eyelids and a couple coats of mascara, waterproof this time! While this attempt went better I still couldn't get both ends to stay stuck down.

I'm saving the third attempt for a girls night out when someone more talented than me can have a go at putting them on me!

The lashes themselves look lovely, I got the Daniela lashes, a 2 on the intensity scale, which looked lovely on, a little more length and density than "normal" lashes and a look I'd be comfortable wearing often.

If only the application was as easy as it looks!
