I was given this as an RAOK gift from tannygirl. But it was under the old name Sorbet. So overwhelmed with excitement when I saw it being mentioned in the forum that Ethique has been added. I couldn't wait to get this review done.
I got a small sample shaped like a cute flower. This soap is white in colour. A solid bar with a smooth texture. It smells like a subtle vanilla scent. I couldnt detect the coconut oil or cocoa butter in scent. Im not sure if this formula has changed with their branding.
I used wonderbar in my hair. It felt smooth and lushious during the time that I was cleaning my hair. This scent isn't a very heavy aroma during cleaning my hair. It felt subtly clean and soft. This disintergrates so fast. Im not sure if it was only because it was small sized. I didn't notice other bars from ethique disintergrating as fast as this one did.
I had been dreaming of trying these out for quite some time and finally got to try a couple out. I would definately love to try more shampoo bars. I never got to use this bar for shaving only on my hair.
This was one of the products that first attracted me to Ethique. Since discovering the damage my hair received due to heat styling when I first got into heat styling and got a ton of split ends. I got a mist in heat protector and it really helped prevent a lot of damage but I do have long hair and misting all my hair makes it wet and means it takes longer to flat iron or curl my hair. So when I saw that Ethique (Sorbet at the time) had ingeniously included a heat protectant in their conditioner bar that stays in till the next wash I had to have it. This bar smells a bit like coconut it's a bit slippery when wet and the product is very concentrated. You swipe it on your wet locks and at first it doesn't really feel like much but then you comb through your hair and your hair does indeed have product on it. My hair is soft and my long, easy tangled strands are easier to comb through The brand recommended a few swipes of this product but I like showing my flowing tresses some loving, generosity and one bar lasts me the better part of a year. I do wash my hair about twice a week and this is my go to conditioner. I used to have shampoo and conditioner in bottles but since discovering this the number of bottles of conditioner I own have diminished considerably. Do I still use a mist in heat protectant? Yes, I want to protect my hair but I don't have to apply heaps of it like I did before. It can be used as an in shower body conditioner but this works so well for my hair I haven't needed to re-purpose this bar. For those who know me and know I looove natural beauty products this is saying a lot because as a rave about this conditioner bar I know this isn't a natural conditioner. It does have some good ingredients like coconut oil and cocoa butter but other than that it is pretty much just free of nasty skin irritants and cruelty free. I also love that this is a NZ brand as well. I have repurchased this bar several times and so long as I can get ahold of one - I will own one. I highly recommend this conditioning bar.
Tips: The instructions on the site say to swipe give the bar a few swipes from root to tip. But go for as many swipes as you want because the bar will last ages. I have long hair and I use as much as want, I wash my hair about twice a week this is my default conditioner and a bar lasts me the better part of a year. Great if you like to use heat styling and don't want to have to mist every lock of hair till wet with heat protectant. I still use heat protectant before using my Instyler or hair dryer but I just use a light spray over sections of hair. You can request a free sample of this in any online Ethique order. If you do have a sample of this the bar is slippery so hold it tight so it doesn't slip out of your hand or if you have a lot of hair, get lost in your hair.
