This was the first sea spray I'd ever tried, and as it had Lush branded on it I knew it had to be good. I bought mine off a friend but it was an almost full bottle so I got a lot of uses out of it.
When I first tried it I sprayed it first, and mine came out more like a gel than a spray. Undeterred I continued on. Sea spray, I had heard, was amazing and I was determined to make it work. I sprayed it into my hair and it honestly felt more like a gel than a spray. I used it after I had towel dried my hair and I waited for it to dry.
The smell is hard to describe. Fiance is of the opinion that it smells like old lady. I however think it smells fresh, and a bit citrusy, and maybe a bit like the ocean. The scent lasted a surprisingly long time, it wafted into my face nearly every time I moved my head. It's a bit overpowering and headache inducing though. I have since learned that the spray shares its scent with the Frozen bath bomb and the Happy Happy Joy Joy conditioner!
This contains a light gel to keep the style in place, but luckily the gel didn't make my hair crunchy like gel does. It was left actually quite soft and very much like I had spent the day at the beach. I like to think I got the hang of this product and made it work, and I really did like it. I don't think I would repurchase though, as the gel spray it was doing did nothing for me.
I hadn't really thought I would need a sea salt spray for my hair but cmon it's Lush I need all the Lush! I never really looked in to what a sea spray did until Shaza gave me this one. I read up on it and read reviews on the Lush website to see if it was something I would get a benefit out of. I determined that without trial I would never know. Let me tell you how glad I am that I did!
First off let's get the mundane out of the way it's a black plastic (recycled yusss) bottle with a spritzer for application. To me I find the Lush bottles and tubs refreshing and chic. They are simple but do their job, I love them! It smells lightly salty but more refreshing than anything else. It is not highly scented which is perfect for me, I don't like overpowering hair care products that you can smell up the street blergh!
I didn't think I would need texture having previously sported very long ringlets but I sprayed it on the roots to give it oomph to hold my mohawk up without heavy products.
I spritz it on when styling my hair and scrunch it in to the roots and give it a bit of a scruff up. I straighten the ends to give it the structure it needs to stay in place but with the texture plus.
Unfortunately it falls short where stay power is concerned. I find that half way through the day my hair flops down and I am left with a half done hawk. I found that I have to 'floof' it more with the comb to make it stay for longer. Regardless of this it works exactly like I would want it to. It leaves my hair soft but with the oomph I expected from it. I actually find the Lush sea spray better than other supermarket brands. It may be more expensive but if it works, gimme, gimme, gimmie!
Tips: Use it to add structure and oomph to short styles
