Pureology Precious Oil Versitile Caring Oil review

My wonderful mother received a decent sample of this in a limited edition Goodiebox, and she kindly gave it to me after it made her hair "feel yucky".

My first impression was, score! I love hair oils. I assumed straight away that it would be like an argan oil, and I wasn't wrong. The bottle is brown and the serum inside is clear, all good things so far. The smell was what made me go "oooh!" because it smells amazing.

Sadly, that's where the ball stops rolling. I have used the smallest amount of oil to about a pump full, and no matter what I do my hair sticks together like it's got a gel in it, only not hard. It makes my hair super oily and the only time I like this product is when I'm washing it out of my hair.

Overall, glad I tried it, but would never, ever use again or purchase this myself. I'll stick with what I know works!

I received a sample of this oil months ago and its still going strong despite regular use. I use it like an argan oil, most to the ends when it is looking a little parched, then whatever is leftover on my hands I smooth over fly-aways. One pump seems to provide plenty enough product or else you'll end up with an oil slick. The scent is absolutely beautiful. Will most likely repurchase

when i first tried this product my first thoughts were omg this smells amazing ! I have tried it in dry and wet hair, With wet hair i felt the need to apply quite a bit but when i dried my hair it felt quite heavy which i dont like so you really need to use about one pump . In dry hair same again probably not to much it tends to bring down your hair, but its still nice and soft but its a good oil in my opinion.

Okay, the first thing I have to say about this product is that it smells INCREDIBLE! Very tropical, but also rich and luxurious. It makes your hair smell insanely good, and the scent lasts for hours.

The packaging of this product is great, it's super easy to disperse the perfect amount of the oil into your palms, to then apply to your hair. From my experience I found this 'perfect amount' to be only one or two small pumps - this oil is very rich and a little goes a long way!

When applied to wet or damp hair, I found this oil makes the hair appear quite greasy. When applied to dry hair, or hair that has just been heat-styled, however, this oil gives the hair a beautiful shine and is very smoothing and nourishing. So if you're looking for a just-out-of-the-shower product, I would not recommend this. As a styling-from-dry product, however, the Pureology Precious Oil Versatile Caring Oil is a gorgeous investment!

Also, LOVE that it is so natural and free of parabens.

this oil is great for thick hair taming and softening I just found if you use too much it can make your hair look very greasy
