The shampoo was gifted to me from a friend that bought it and she disliked it.
This is my only experience with tigi shampoo. I was really excited because I had read rave reviews on it. Even though I don't need any volume to my hair, I was looking forward to trying it to see what the rave reviews were about.
The very first thing I noticed is the packaging - it is super vibrant and bright and fun. It appeals to me on an aesthetic level because it's different and I think it's cute.
The second thing I noticed was the smell. It smelled sooooo good - kind of like a grown up bubblegum shampoo, but not overly bubblegum-ish lol. It kind of reminded me of the scent of fudge shampoos. Either way I loved smelling my hair while using this, and in the days after I'd washed my mane with this.
Unfortunately this made my long, thick hair suuuuuuuuper knotty. My hair isn't usually too bad to comb out after washing it, provided I am careful with it, but this turned it into almost dreadlocks. My hair felt slightly sticky (even though I definitely washed it all out), and the strands just knotted together. It was painful and really difficult to untangle my hair after showering.
I also noticed that between washes, my hair would get knotty easier than it usually did. I am wondering if this is because I had super thick hair when using this and this is a volumising shampoo. Perhaps that was causing the knotting? Either way I regrettably threw this away because it was making my hair unbearable to deal with.
This I wouldn't purchase this ever - at least not the volumising shampoo. It just didn't work for my hair and I recommend women with thick hair keep away from this. I'm not sure how it would work for women with thinner hair but certainly for me, it was a fail.
With the super cute packaging and yummy scent, I wish I could say I loved this shampoo and conditioner... I have fine hair that could use a good dose of volume, and I can't say this duo had any effect other than drying out my hair. Hit and miss for this one, but I haven't ruled out the Tigi brand altogether!
