Of course when I buy any shampoo I have to follow it up with the matching conditioner. I bought the duo in hopes that it would soothe and replenish my irritated scalp like it promised. I had never used Earthwise before now. Nor had I used a shampoo with aloe vera in it. I was both nervous and excited to be trying a new product.
Again this bottle design is not an easy one to grip and keep a hold of without accidentally dropping it from time to time. The squeezable part allows me to get out the right amount of product rather than wasting any by squirting too much. The green and cream colour doesn’t catch my eye but it keeps with the ‘natural’ image they are trying to achieve.
The conditioner is quite thick. It is even thicker than the shampoo. I love a thick conditioner so this is right up my alley. I just find that a thick conditioner allows me to slather my hair all over while using minimal amounts. After I have washed my hair with the shampoo in the same brand, I apply this conditioner. I use the size of an old 50c piece, sometimes two depending on how dry my hair is. I don’t massage it in to the roots but concentrate on the lengths to get the smooth feeling I was after.
It is almost instantaneous, the smooth feeling I was after. The shampoo leaves my hair horrible and tangled so this is a welcome change. My love for this is short lived however. After the four weeks I allowed it to work my scalp became flake central and even more irritated than before I started. For this reason, no thanks!
Tips: Use a hair mask afterwards
