I've used a Garnier hair mask before, they really do the best and most value for money hair masks around! Like their other masks, this one also smells divine and left my hair silky smooth. I used it as a mask and left it on for a few hours, it thoroughly moisturised my hair (maybe over moisturised if that's a thing?) so might cut down on the time next time but if your hair is very dry then you'll love it

Tips: If your hair is slightly on the oily end, don't leave it on for too long and follow the instructions
I have to say after using many of the newer garnier products that I'm becoming overall very impressed with this brand. I'm yet to find one I don't like and want to reuse again, and this Hair Food is no different.
I liked it all, the smell of products always catch me first and though I didn't expect to like the smell of aloe vera - I really did like it, it was so sweet and fresh.
The next thing I really enjoyed was how this product can be used in so many different ways - a conditioner, hair mask or leave-in conditioner. I've so far used it both as a conditioner and hair mask and I'm thrilled with the results.
My hair was so soft, frizz free and hydrated after use, while still maintaining it's curl. I did use this with the shampoo bar, so the results might be due to a combination of both.
I'm in love and would definitely be using again - though now that I am becoming such a big fan of Garnier products, I might try some of the different scents.
Lastly, I like that there are no parabens or silicones in the product, keeping my hair healthy.
Tips: Read the instructions and try out the 3 different ways to use - conditioner, leave-in or hair mask
I have long coloured wavy hair which is always in need of moisture, so I was stoked to be selected to trial this. I used it in all three ways - as a conditioner, a mask and also as a leave-in. As a mask and leave-in, it left my hair smelling amazing and feeling soft, but sadly, also flat and lifeless.. my hair just felt heavy and had zero volume. It was somewhat better when used as a conditioner, my hair had a little more volume and body but still not fantastic. I think it may be better suited to straight fine hair as it does condition well.
After reading the back of the tub, I realised it could be used more than one way - how convenient! I tried it as a mask and as a leave in - both times I noticed my hair was soft and shinier than usual the next day. Will definitely use this again.
I was invited to trial this product along with the shampoo bar and I have to say I have been pretty impressed! I have used their hair food before so already knew I liked the product but I had never used the aloe one before. I tried it as both a conditioner and hair mask, the latter combing it through my hair and leaving it for a minute or so before washing out. It feels light and silky on my hair and it is definately more hydrated, not much frizz, yay!!!!! I both love and hate the tub. Love it that its a tub and you can scoop out what you want but hate that it can be a tad fiddly in the shower and if I dont have it balanced just right I could drop the pot and lose the whole lot! I only condition my hair a few times a week so I can manage that. The smell is pretty good too, not overpowering but pleasant & quite aloe-wy which is nice. I will def be getting this again.
Tips: When this is on special at supermarket you can sometimes get it half price so stock up! :-)
Love the texture and feel of this “hair food” I used it after the cleansing bar as a conditioner and found it made my ends soft, nourished and shiney. It’s not weighty or greasy and rinsed out well. I also used it as a leave in conditioner like the instructions said and added a small amount to the tips of my dry hair, again I found a little went a long way and it has a great smoothing quality I enjoyed.
Tips: A little of this goes a long way. Start with a small Amount and add more as needed
I have been a religious user of the banana hair food, but I think this may be my new fav! I have curly hair. I used this as a conditioner, paired with the shampoo bar, and my curls are definitely more hydrated and defined. When I use this as a mask, I lather this on dry hair. I leave on for a while, when I’m cleaning, cooking dinner etc (on my entire hair). I then wash with the shampoo bar, then add more of this to the ends, then rinse….my hair looks amazing! But my favourite use of this is as a leave in treatment. I add a little to my ends and let my hair air dry and my curls look beautiful and not weighed down. Really impressed with Garnier and will most definitely be purchasing this again.
This is my first time trying the Garnier Hydrating Aloe Vera Hair Food and I'm impressed. I'm quite fussy with my conditioners as I condition every morning, and I'm loving this one. It smells sooo good too !!
I did find I had to use a bit more of the product than my usual conditioner to feel like I had good coverage, but it probably wasn't necessary. Once rinsed out and combed and dried, my hair felt really soft and springy, which is wonderful as my hair is curly and on the dry side. I also liked the consistency of the product. Nice and thick and creamy.
My only negative is that I'm not a huge fan of tubs, as when you are in the shower and put your hand it them to scoop the product out, you can sometimes get some water in there. Personally I would prefer it in a bottle, but that's only a very tiny criticism.
I will definitely keep using it and am looking forward to trying the other ones. I love the smell of the aloe vera one, its really yummy and can't wait to try the Papaya and Macadamia ones. I'm a convert!
I used this as part of a trial with the shampoo and conditioner of the same range. I like that this can be used as a conditioner/hair mask/leave in product. I have used as a conditioner and a hair mask and I think it made for a nice moisturising conditioner but as a hair mask I much prefer other hair masks as they much more richer and thicker than this and my hair definitely didn't feel as soft with this product. Easy to apply, easy to rinse off and has a faint pleasant scent.
Size of tub: Pleasantly surprised with the size of this tub! 390ml of hair mask goodness. This will last a long time in my long bob.
Scent: Fresh, Clean linen kind of smell. Very subtle and leaves a hint of freshness to your hair.
Use: I honestly havent used a hair mask in a long time, and kind of missed it! I have tried using this every second wash and leave it in for 1 minute as a mask. I have also experienced using a 10cent piece size after I have towel dried my hair leaving it in as a treatment. Both were enjoyable ways to use it and I didnt feel one way was better than the other personally.
Ingredients: Loving the thoughtful ingredients in this Aloe Vera based product, from sunflower seed oil, coconut oil, and soya oil.
Price: $14 at countdown is a great investment, suitable for the whole family.
Tips: I also tried it out on my 4yr olds hair ends and this really helped with detangling.
