This is my new go too when it comes to conditioner! It’s light weight but yet really moisturises my hair. I was a bit dubious at first and didn’t really think I would like this product, but I am sold! My curls look amazing….better than when I use salon brand hair products :/ I have even used the conditioner as a leave in treatment thing, and gone to work. Curls looked amazing and not weighed down at all! AND it smells really good too!

The conditioner has an amazing tropical smell. It is rich and creamy. I used it after the matching shampoo and my hair had improved condition, less frizzy and fly away and it stayed like that for a few days.
Tips: Leave in for a more intense conditioning.
As much as I loved the shampoo, this conditioner sadly didn’t live up to the challenge of rehydrate and smooth my hair. The scent is amazing, albeit a little weaker than in the shampoo, I would’ve like it the other way ‘round, so my hair would keep more of the scent after drying. I had to use a lot, a little doesn’t go a long way for me, so I will definitely run out of the conditioner before the shampoo, but it’s fine with me as I sometimes swap my conditioner to a deep treatment, so it’s no biggie for me, might be a problem for others though. After trying to dry and brush my hair I noticed how knotty it was, I had to use a lot of detangling spray to be able to brush my hair. It could be due to this product not containing any silicones, which would coat my hair and would make it more manageable, I’m not against silicones, so this factor is not important to me. After drying my hair was a frizzy, poofy mess, it looked terrible, yet when I touched my hair it felt soft, so that was weird. I had to use double the amount of my heat protectant smoothing cream to get my hair to behave. After straightening my hair was as usual and popped a bit of oil to hydrate my hair further as it lacked shine, it was a bit dull looking. My hair is heat-damaged, coloured and naturally very frizzy, so I didn’t expect miracles of this product. I will definitely use this up, but might just use it on my scalp and use a more heavy duty one on the lengths and ends. If your hair is normal or just a little on the dryer side from winter, it might be enough for you.
If you've used and loved the Banana Hair Food mask you'll love this pair too - they're deliciously fragranced and work well together to leave hair clean and nourished.
I LOVE the packaging - they look like milk bottles, they scream natural and are recyclable.
The conditioner is quite runny which I found unusual, but it still did the job. My hair felt nourished and supple after use.
A fantastic supermarket buy!
This conditioner is great, the smell is yummy and the texture is thick and slippery enough that it coats the hair nicely for detangling and is easy to get out of the bottle. I have dry hair and I use the Garnier hair food deep conditioner once in a while, whereas this conditioner is great for use every wash day. It's vegan and silicone free which is a huge plus. The container is a good size (small enough for travel) and you just squeeze the bottle to get the conditioner out rather than a pump, so there's no wastage. I've also tested it out as a leave in conditioner - I have wavy hair and when it gets a bit flat or out of shape I wet it with my hands and smooth in a small amount of conditioner. This works great for that purpose as it's quite lightweight. Garnier is usually quite affordable so I would definitely recommend if you see it at the supermarket.
Tips: Don't apply to the roots or scalp area to avoid build up
A nice container full of heaps of information nice and bright bananas all over the front so no missing it.
The conditioner is a thick white smells of bananas without being sickly, leaves a light fragrance to my hair. My hair is left nourished without being weighed down infact more volume, it’s quite nice as my hair is dry. I’d say I’d use around two tablespoons worth of conditioner my hair is past my shoulders. This is definitely worth a try, nice bouncy hair that small delicious can’t really complain.
Tips: Squeeze the conditioner in
A big fan of the fruity Garnier Fructis Hair Food 3-in-1 hair masks, I was excited to try this conditioner - less excited to discover the product for dry hair was banana scented. However it turns out though that this conditioner smells delicious and not "chemical banana" as I might have expected.
The Garnier Fructis Hair Food Banana Conditioner squeezes out easily and is a white. creamy consistency, easy to measure out in your hand. Marked 98% natural origin, Garnier is acknowledging this product isn't perfect but is super close and this is a stat which would encourage me to pick it up off the shelf over competitor products.
Being silicone free this conditioner rinses quickly which saves shower time. My hair is soft and the ends smooth, however while it claims to detangle I still had a fight with a comb through my wet hair after I got out!
The 250ml bottle looks like it might contain a juice or smoothie. It is recyclable and made with 50% recycled plastic, however I find the flip cap a bit difficult to open with wet hands in the shower - it seems like the cap isn't quite tall enough.
Tips: Use in conjunction with the Garnier Fructis Hair Food Banana Shampoo.
Packaging unimpressive as it looks like a rather cheap cool drink, which is a pity because the product is excellent. Left my hair silky soft which is quite something as it’s fairly dry and very curly. The only downside was the strong banana fragrance but fortunately it did not last very long - only while washing. However, in saying that I would use it again.
Tips: Leave in for about 10 minutes if you can!
Thanks BR for the opportunity to be part of another awesome trial!
I have tried the Garnier Fructis Hair Food treatment in banana, which didn't wow me, so was really interested to see how the conditioner went.
The bottle itself (like the shampoo) has a really great lid that you can still open with wet, or conditioner-covered hands so that is an automatic win!
The product is thick and white with a pleasant scent. As with the shampoo this really doesn't smell like banana to me, but it is still nice. The conditioner spread easily through my hair, almost melting into it, and untangled it quickly.
It rinsed out really well and definitely did not leave any residue or weigh-down. I didn't feel like my hair was more nourished compared to other ranges I've used, but it definitely didn't leave it dried out, and having that weightless feel was really great.
Tips: Keep the bottles away from little children - my 2 young ones initially thought it was a new banana milk drink!
I was so excited to receive an invitation for this trial (thanks BR) because I'm mad obsessed with banana. I tried the mask of this when it first came out and was hoping for a shampoo and conditioner to go with it. Thank the heavens someone was listening as they brought out both eek.
So let's talk about packaging first - comes in a squeezy bottle with a flip lid to open and close. Surprising enough I didn't have issues opening the lid of this like I did with the shampoo.
The smell is so good - smells a bit like banofee pie. This bottle should come with a warning ha ha ha. My hair smells like banana for so long after using the shampoo and conditioner.
It comes out really thick and white (not yellow) and feels like silk when you apply to your hair.
It leaves my hair super soft and and silky. My hair really likes this and gives a nice shine which is an added bonus.
Love love love this.
